“Mum, what do you want from Logan? I don’t see why you would need any help or favor from him,” I said.
“Actually Crystal, I want you to ask the Alpha Wolf to use his Alpha blood to awaken the wolf clan sword of our Pack, that will make our wolf clan greatly enhanced.”
What?
How could she even think of that?
First, I don’t see myself requesting anything ever from Logan, secondly that’s a very strange request.
If Logan does that, it would cause damage to his body. Awakening the wolf clan sword with his blood would make him very weak, he won’t be too far from an ordinary man.
“What are you saying mum? You know that it’s dangerous,” I half-yelled.
She came closer to me and sat on the chair, then placed a hand on my shoulder.
“It’s not that dangerous Crystal, it won’t kill him, it would only take strength out of him. Also, why are you even concerned about him? I mean you hate him right? He’s your enemy and he has been taking advantage of you, so use this method to get back at him. If he really cares about you, which I know he does, then he will do what you want him to and it’s a win for you!” She said, trying to convince me
“A win? What kind of a win is that? I might hate him but I am not that heartless to trick him into that, I can’t be a demon in order to get back at a demon, in that case we would be no different from each other,” I protested.
I can’t believe that this is even up for debate. Her request is absurd, it’s outrageous!
“Don’t say that Crystal, think about this very well, if he awakens our wolf clan sword, our Pack will become powerful again while he becomes weak. You said he wants to kill your child right?
Then we could protect him from the Alpha, we could keep him safe for you and at the same time you still got your revenge at Logan for the things he has done to you.”
I still could not believe that the woman saying all these was my once innocent step-mum who would never do anything wrong. How could she possibly be so conniving and a few minutes ago I was here thinking that Logan had actually bought her to plead on his behalf.
I did not know that her real intentions for asking me to forgive Logan was so that she could start a good relationship with the Alpha and in turn use me to get to him, she only cared about awakening the wolf clan sword that had lost its strength years ago.
How could she be so cunning?
I can’t believe I had grown up calling this woman mum, she was never like this or maybe I never really knew what she was really like. I had been blinded by her disguise not knowing she was this conspiring and cunning.
If anyone had told me that my step mum could plot such schemes then I would have never believed, in fact I would have fought with the person.
“I am sorry Mum-two, I cannot do what you have asked of me. It’s completely wrong and even if it wasn’t, I am not speaking with Logan right now, I am avoiding him.
In fact, I ignored him after the accident not minding he was injured that is to show you how much I despise him,” I said in refusal
I thought my step parents had given up on this pack, only a few people addressed them as Alpha and Luna. What was the need of awakening the wolf clan sword anyway when there is no one to pass over their legacy to?
They don’t have an heir and they are no longer young, this is just hunger for power and fame which is very wrong, I won’t stand for it even though I hate Logan.
“Please Crystal, you have to do this for us. We have raised you ever since you were a child, your parents had entrusted you with us and even though the same blood did not run in our veins nether were we from the same pack, we gave you the right to not only become a member of this pack but also a member of our family and we never asked for anything in return.”
Great! Now she’s making me look like an ungrateful being.
Yes, they have done a lot for me but I don’t think it’s enough reason to do such a thing in return.
Is she even considering Logan while planning to do this, the damage he would face if he tries to awaken the wolf clan sword. It’s wrong to make him do this.
“Mum please don’t make me feel this way, I really appreciate what you’ve done for me, not just you but Dad as well. You two have treated me like your own daughter not minding that we don’t share the same last name or blood, I can’t be any less thankful for what you have done for me but what you’re asking of me is too much. Please forgive me but I can’t do it,” I replied
“Why? Is it because you care about Logan even though you don’t want to admit it? In that case, it’s still a win for you. If he awakens the Wolf clan sword, then he would become weak and he would have to accept your son as the next Alpha, you will no longer have to be scared of him killing Aidan because he is his heir and the only one eligible to become Alpha.”
I can’t believe she is still coming up with more cunning ideas. What has happened to my stepmom? When did she become this power-hungry scheming lady that will go to such lengths to achieve her goal?
“Also, you could take this as an opportunity to confirm that he really cares about you, he cares enough to do it. By doing it, he would prove his love for you,” she added.
“The point Mum, is that you don’t know Logan. I am hundred percent assured that he would do it if I asked him to, not because he cares but because he would go to any lengths to win my trust.
Do you know that he was willing to mark me one time just in order to win my trust?
Knowing fully well that by doing that he would lose his supernatural abilities and become human, that is even worse than awakening your wolf clan sword, so yes! He would do it if I asked him to, but I can’t!”
“Why can’t you Crystal? Why?” She queried, now losing her temper.
I was shocked. Do I know this woman? This is not my stepmom, who is this?
