Seeing this, Ulric finally texted him back.
“I’ll send someone to pick her up.”
“Before that, change the children’s surname!” Caesar was surely a shrewd businessman, exceptionally skilled in negotiation.
Ulric snorted and didn’t reply further.
It was now a test of endurance, seeing who would give in first.
He knew his parents valued their reputation above all. If the media discovered that their grandchildren bore the surname “Ruell” instead of “Walters”, it would be a great humiliation to the Walters.
However, Ulric didn’t care much about such things.
When Rosalind returned with the porridge, Ulric was already handling business matters.
Though his wound had just had its stitches removed and he should have been resting quietly in bed, she knew a stubborn man like him wouldn’t listen to her.
The person on the other end of the line was briefing him on a project-Ulric’s biggest project for next year. He wanted to enter the electronics industry and create a new smartphone brand.
This was an area Rosalind knew little about. She wasn’t even qualified to be a due diligence assistant on such a project.
After thinking for a moment, she opened her laptop and entered an online technology forum.
This forum was filled with experts. Despite the abundance of casual comments in the posts, those who seemed the most nonchalant were often the true masters.
It reminded Rosalind of B7.
It seemed no one knew his real name and background!
At that moment, Ulric finally noticed her.
Setting his computer aside, he spoke up, his voice deep with a slight nasal tone, “Has B7 recovered the data from the flash drive you gave him?”
“No… not yet.”
“What’s on it that you specifically needed his help?”
In this area, Ulric had some expertise himself. Like most men, he had an inexplicable attraction to high-tech electronic products.
“Some materials that would be troublesome to lose.”
Her words, as usual, revealed nothing.
Ulric certainly knew the contents were important. Otherwise, why would she pay B7 so much to restore them? He also remembered how urgently Rosalind had wanted to meet B7, even agreeing to stay overnight at Easthaven Bay.
“Someone recommended him for the company’s new project development.”
Rosalind started. “You want B7 to work at W Group?”
“It’s just collaboration. He may not qualify to enter W Group.”
“Oh… they say he’s very talented.”
Just casually browsing the forum, Rosalind had already seen many people discussing B7’s miraculous feats.
Clearly, in this field, B7 was an undisputed genius.
“I’ll probably meet with him to discuss cooperation. Do you want me to ask about the progress of the flash drive restoration?”
“No need.” Rosalind shook her head. “He’ll contact me when it’s fixed.”
Ulric narrowed his eyes, remembering how B7 had called Rosalind out late at night at Easthaven Bay…
“Do you know him well?”
“Not really,” Rosalind answered honestly. “I’ve only met him twice. His attitude was poor both times, and he always spoke impatiently.”
It seemed B7 had always kept people at bay, his attitude arrogant and cold as if he didn’t care about anything.
Whenever he spoke, his tone was inevitably laced with barbs, making his thoughts impossible to guess.
