Chapter 653: Is My Mother Involved?

Book:Wrong Invitation For My Mr Right Published:2025-3-13

Ulric pondered for a long time about why Rosalind refused to let him pay his respects to her mother. It certainly wasn’t just because her mother liked peace and quiet, as she claimed.
Malcolm could go, but he couldn’t. The reason must lie in the truth about Rosalind’s mother’s death.
After much thought, he concluded that the problem likely stemmed from Sirena.
Rosalind probably believed that if he hadn’t appeared, Sirena wouldn’t have been jealous and taken action against her mother, leading to her untimely death.
He was indirectly involved in this tragedy, which was why Rosalind wouldn’t let him visit her mother’s grave.
After all, he had never done anything to harm Eva. In fact, he had even arranged for her surgery with a doctor from abroad.
Now that he had identified the cause, he intended to find the culprit so Rosalind could seek justice and relieve her grievances.
This would also prevent Malcolm from taking advantage of the situation to his benefit.
“I can’t agree to this directly. I need to discuss it with your mother,” Caesar sighed. “You have to understand my predicament! When Sirena stabbed you and you were in a critical condition, I was ready to deal with her, but your mother stopped me. Otherwise, she would have been dealt with long ago.”
Caesar believed that such a troublemaker should be eradicated to prevent future issues.
He disagreed with his wife constantly speaking of gratitude.
Sirena’s audacity came from having the Walters family’s support, causing her to become so bold as to attempt murder!
“When you and my mother have reached an agreement, I’ll discuss changing the children’s surname with Rosalind.”
“What? Changing the children’s surname requires her consent?!”
“Does Sirena need my mother’s consent to pay for her crimes?”
“You-” Caesar was at a loss for words and exhaled deeply. “Fine, I’ll talk to your mother. I’m not going to argue with you over Sirena and risk our relationship.”
Ulric understood that his father wasn’t compromising but had no choice but to relent.
He was now the real power behind the Walters family, and there was no other candidate to inherit this position.
If they fell out, it would lead to a situation neither of them wanted.
Just as Caesar was about to hang up, Ulric coldly asked, “Was my mother involved in what Sirena did to Rosalind’s mother?”
“What do you mean?” Caesar raised his voice.
“The literal meaning.”
“Of course not! Your mother only supported Sirena because she doesn’t like Rosalind. You know that. She thought refusing would break you and Rosalind apart! And even if Sirena had murderous intentions, she wouldn’t dare tell your mother. Over the years, Sirena has played the role of a gentlewoman in front of us both. Even I was deceived.”
Ulric furrowed his brows. “I hope what you’re saying is true.”
“Why? Did Rosalind say something?” Caesar quickly asked.
“No, it’s just something I wanted to ask myself.”
“Ulric, do you see your mother as someone as malicious as Sirena? Don’t forget you’re her son! Without her carrying you for nine months and giving birth, Rosalind wouldn’t even have the chance to be associated with our family!”
