Kyle’s POV:
“Was that really a wise decision to make?” Neo asked when I sat down on the couch in my father’s office.
“Are you calling me dumb, uncle?” I asked seriously.
“No, he isn’t. You are the soon-to-be Alpha, that we understand. But if what I have heard actually did happen, then it’s not a good decision to have him in our pack,” Blade responded.
I stood up and glared at him.
“Son, show some respect,” my father warned from behind his desk.
“If you were the one in our situation, would you keep Larson away from his mate when he’s still crying badly in his room?” I asked seriously.
He sighed, then shifted his gaze to my father.
“Please do answer me,” I demanded.
“No,” he answered in a whisper.
“My sister has gone through a lot in just a few months. As a brother, I want to protect and shield her from everything that may harm or bring her sadness. I didn’t ask you to forgive him, did I? I’m only asking you to give them time, say an hour or so, to say their goodbyes,” I said honestly.
“What happens if he doesn’t go back?” the twins asked.
“Then my father will sit both of them down and hear what their decision is. It’s either they choose to leave this pack together or stay. There is just no way Roxanne will let him go, I can feel it,” I answered.
“He is right. There is no way Roxanne will let Garren go, no matter how upset she is. I think I’ll sit them down and really talk to them,” my father said as I smiled happily.
“Luna, is there anything you want to say or add?” Blade asked my mother, as if hoping she would decide on something else.
We all know how hard it is to be far away from your mate, as well as how a rejection can make one lose their mind. As parents, we look at our little girl with understanding hearts. But as leaders, we are very concerned about our pack member Roxanne. That’s why I agree with Ian sitting them down and asking them for their decision. If she wants to stay back alone, we will happily embrace her decision. But if she wants to stay with him in our pack, we will have to decline. When she does decide to leave this pack with her mate, then as leaders, we will bless them and leave the pack borders open for their visits. Whenever they want to come through, we will let them,” she answered seriously as I smirked.
Unlike some others in the room, she wasn’t planning on beating around the bush or letting unnecessary talk arise.
She wanted my sister to go with him because she knew there was no way she was going to stay alone in our pack or let him go.
“That’s understandable, Luna,” Blade said calmly.
“Now then, it’s all settled. Allow us to rest,” my father said as they all gave a low bow.
“Oh, and one more thing. Never forget that Roxanne is your niece and the daughter of your Alpha queen and Alpha. This pack will forever be her home, be it with her mate or not, and that will never change even after I step down,” my father said strongly.
“Yes, Alpha,” they answered in low voices, then walked out of the office.
“This will be troublesome,” my mother said softly, then walked to where my father was seated.
“I know,” my father answered and then closed his eyes when she put her hands on his shoulders and began massaging them.
“Mother, father, I suggest you call them soon to talk,” I said seriously.
“How about today?” I asked softly.
“No, not today. Perhaps tomorrow, early in the morning. For now, let them be. They need each other’s closure,” he answered in a low tone, then opened his eyes and sat upright.
“Son, is there something else bothering you?” he asked loudly in concern, as my mother froze in her movements.
“No,” I lied.
“Hey, you look very worried. Is there a problem?” my mother asked in concern.
“A lot of things are going through my mind at once,” I answered in a whisper.
“You can always talk to us. If it’s too much for us to handle, we can ask Aurora and Axel to take over,” she said softly.
I loved Aurora and respected Axel a lot. But right now, they weren’t the ones I wanted to talk to.
“Mom and dad,” I called as they looked at me attentively.
“A coven can’t run without the elders or a very powerful vampire to rule them, can it? I would understand if they all moved on if they had no elders or a ruler to begin with, but that’s not the case. The coven castle had elders for generations, and the vampires under them have always looked up to them and waited for their orders. Now that they are all wiped out, what becomes of them? Surely, they will go insane and run wild. Not only will they pick wars with werewolf packs deliberately, but the balance of human territory as well as other supernatural beings will be shaken. They will try to dominate the lower supernatural beings and cause chaos,” I said seriously.
A minute went by without them saying a word, and that made me feel nervous.
Was I speaking out of turn?
“Son, are you suggesting we ask Garren to go back and take over as the vampire king?” she asked softly.
“Yes, I am. No one can challenge him now that the elders are gone. Moreover, he has a very powerful witch by his side, which is a bonus. If he does take over, not only will he put all the vampires in their place, but we can also form an alliance with them,” I answered.
She slowly brushed her hand against her face, then looked me straight in the eyes.
“What if he fails?” she asked.
“No, that’s not an option. He won’t. He has to succeed,” I answered.
I was one hundred percent certain he was going to succeed.
“Okay, then tomorrow morning we will do our best to convince him. If he refuses, then there is nothing we can do about it,” Father answered as I smiled.
“Thank you very much,” I said, then walked to the door and grabbed the door handle.
“Thank you,” I whispered again, then opened the door and walked out.
I wanted what was best for my sister, and that was her happiness.
