August’s POV:
“Is it okay to leave the house locked?” I asked seriously as Felix drove to the club.
“Of course, they all have a spare key,” she answered.
I had thought it was a joke when she said I only needed to rest for two hours before going out with her. It turned out it wasn’t because I only rested for two hours, and there she was at my bedroom door knocking.
“Oh, I forgot to ask. Is the pay okay with you?” She asked as I chuckled softly.
“It’s more than okay. $200 per hour sounds like magic to me,” I answered happily.
“I’m glad to know, but before we reach, I would like you to learn about a few rules of my club,” she said.
“Okay,” I answered.
“My club has both humans and supernatural beings as customers and clients. Only rich clients and customers get to walk into my place. The building is divided into three parts. At the top of the building is where the humans usually chill, party, and drink. The bartender and DJ are vampires. Not to brag, but my kind does have killer bodies and faces before your own,” she said as I glared at her.
“Continue,” I demanded loudly.
“The ones that serve the customers are usually humans, be it female or male, because of how easy it is for them to communicate with their own kind. No one knows that the DJ and bartender are vampires, and I prefer it that way because we all know how humans act when they realize exactly what we are. The two vampires who work for me have total control and know how to handle each and every situation in the club. They never cross their line of employee and client or customer with the people, and I prefer it to be that way forever,” she said.
“Then there is the middle floor of the building. That place is a club, but not a regular one. It’s more of a fun place for most supernatural beings where they can be themselves,” she said as I gave her a cold look.
“What do you mean by that? Explain,” I demanded.
“The employees there serve the clients without question in a unique way. For example, my kind enjoys the taste of delicious blood, fresh from either a virgin or another supernatural being. When he or she comes to the middle floor, they will be granted just that. They get to choose whether to feed on a fairy, siren, mermaid, They get to choose whether to feed on a fairy, siren, mermaid, werewolf, etc. Either blond, brunette, redhead, virgin, experienced, etc. Do you understand?” She asked.
“Yes, but what if they want to have sex?” I asked.
“Intercourse is out of the question, but I allow my workers to engage in or receive oral sex from clients. So, in short, the place allows people’s fantasies to come true. Also, killing is not allowed. The bartender there is a vampire and an Alpha wolf,” she said as I burst into laughter.
“You’re joking, right?” I asked loudly.
“Oh no, I’m not,” she answered as my laughter subsided.
“What would an Alpha be doing there when he should have his own pack?” I exclaimed.
“The same thing you will be doing-working. I hate to say this, but never react that way in front of him. Although he looks weak and nerdy, he is much stronger and more mischievous than you or Whitney. He is usually reserved, and some fools mistake him for an omega because of that,” she answered.
“Oh, is he mated?” I asked in a low voice.
“No, but that doesn’t mean he is single. He is dating a human, and they live a happy life together. He hates talking about it, but once in a while, he opens up to me. When his lover started college, he decided to start looking for work so he could be there for her, and that’s how we met and I hired him. The boy is only eighteen years old. Also, he has no pack to rule because he grew up in an orphanage,” she answered.
Her club sounded very complicated and dangerous. I was beginning to wonder if I was making the right decision to work for her.
“The person in charge of everything in the entire building is a witch. Her job is to ensure that there are no fights, danger, or arguments,” she said.
“I understand, so the employees are all supernatural beings and no humans, right?” I asked.
“Yes,” she answered.
“Then what about the last floor?” I asked.
“The last floor is where you will be working. It is a floor where supernatural beings gather like humans. The bartender is a female Alpha who has a pack and is a proud mother of two. She does this job whenever she has free time because it takes her mind off things. She lost her mate a few years ago and has been living like a corpse until we crossed paths one day. The DJ is a young magician who you will be working with, and the rest of the employees are a mix of supernatural beings,” she said, then parked the car outside a fancy-looking building.
“The place is usually full despite me acquiring it a few months ago. Although it may seem scary, there has never been an incident that has affected humans because we make sure to protect them. To maintain a safe working environment, I have established some rules. Rule number one: you are not allowed to engage in any sexual activity with a client, customer, or fellow employee while at work,” she said, then turned and faced me seriously.
“Second rule: you are not allowed to cause trouble when customers try to provoke you. Your job is to inform the peacemaker, who is either a witch or a magician, to handle the situation. Thirdly, if you fall sick or are delayed by something, you must call the bartender or me to let us know in advance. Once your shift is over, you have the choice to either stay or leave the place. It’s up to you. Lastly, those who are not mated should always be alert and know how to act in case they ever come across their mate,” she said as I frowned.
“That’s all?” I asked.
“Yes, what else did you want to hear?” she asked back.
“Like the cleaning rota, working hours, what time we get to eat, more rules, etc.,” I answered.
“You will get to hear them when we go into the building,” she said, then stepped out of the car as I did too.
“I’m honestly surprised that your place is like that,” I said when she went around the car and stood in front of me.
“Like what?” she asked.
“It sounds dangerous and complicated,” I answered honestly.
“Yes, but I don’t force anyone to work for me. I just offer them an opinion, which is entirely up to them to take or leave. Whenever they feel like they are ready to live their life free from work, I let them go happily because I know they have finally achieved their goals. So if you ever feel like you want to go back to the pack, please let me know, and I will gladly send you off,” she said as I smiled, then nodded.
