Side Story Chapter21

Book:The Dominant Alpha (Series) Published:2025-3-10

Damon’s POV:
I looked seriously at the two men who were surrounded by my warriors.
I could tell that one of them was a warlock, while the other was a fairy.
They had no weapons on them, yet that didn’t mean they weren’t dangerous; they were still capable of using magic.
“Turn back now, or else things will get ugly,” I commanded coldly.
They both looked at each other, then looked at me.
“Alpha Damon, we apologize for crossing your border. It’s just that we are in need of your help,” the warlock said as I raised a brow, studying his every movement.
It was obvious that the bastard took me for a fool. How could I help them when I knew nothing about them? Yet still, they could be working for my first mate.
“I’ll say this for the last time, so listen carefully. Go back now and never, ever cross my pack’s border again,” I said, then turned to walk away.
“Please, we beg you,” the fairy said loudly.
When I turned back to glance at him, I was taken aback. The warlock was kneeling with his hands put together in a pleading gesture.
“This matter is serious and urgent,” he whispered.
“Alec?” I called through our mind-link. I wanted to hear his opinion on everything.
“I don’t know, Alpha. They might be lying, but at the same time, telling the truth. How about we welcome them into the pack while you have Maggie call her cousin over the matter? Since she is a seer, I’m sure she will know if they are dangerous or not,” he responded through our mind-link.
I hesitated, then spoke up.
“Fine, I will welcome you into my pack, but don’t get too comfortable. If I find out that you are lying to me in any way, you will be thoroughly sorry,” I said, then began walking back to the pack house, knowing full well that Alec was going to walk with them to my office.
Everything about them was strange. How did they know where my pack was, and how did they know my name? Were they really in need of help, or were they planning on striking my pack while our guard was down, like my first mate did? I was feeling uneasy about everything.
“If they really are planning to strike us down, they will be at a loss because this pack can easily overpower them,” my wolf said with pride as I smirked.
He was right about that because we were no longer like we were back then. Now we were stronger and much wiser. It didn’t matter if they were magicians or just human beings.
I raised my hand and waved at one of my warriors, then walked into the pack. It was a simple gesture that meant to handle everything well, while to some, it seemed like a greeting.
I walked upstairs and went to where Sherry was. Once I opened the door, she quickly stood up from the bed she had been sitting on.
“He is safe,” Maggie assured her when I moved closer.
“Alpha, what exactly is the matter?” Maggie asked, concerned.
I held Sherry’s hand in mine, then looked at Maggie.
“A warlock and a fairy have crossed my pack’s border. They claim to want my pack’s help, which I doubt, but I have decided to hear them out. When I go to talk to them in my office, please call the seer and ask her if the magicians pose any threat to my pack. Mind-link me when she tells you everything there is to know about them,” I said, then dropped my hands.
“Damon, I’m going with you,” Sherry said seriously as I frowned.
No way was I going to put her in danger. What if they were to attack me in my office?
“Sherry, I can’t allow you to go with me into my office. What if those two men attack me?” I asked seriously.
“I want to stand by your side as you speak with them. Remember that I am your Luna, Damon,” she answered strongly.
I was very surprised by her words and courage. My heart was swelling with pride, and my wolf was happy that she was finally seeing herself as our Luna.
Maggie stood up from the bed too, then nodded at me. It was clear that she too wanted me to take her with me.
I sighed, then grabbed her hand, linking it with mine.
“Fine, but you don’t speak without my approval, and you don’t show fear in front of them no matter what,” I warned her.
She smiled, then gave my hand a squeeze.
“Come along now,” I said, then walked to the door slowly with her.
I opened the door and stepped out while carefully observing her.
“I’ll be by your side,” I whispered as we walked to the office.
“I know,” she answered softly.
I opened the door and walked in when we reached the office.
The strangers both sat on the chairs that were opposite my desk, while Alec and two of my warriors stood behind them.
I moved to my chair behind the desk and helped Sherry sit down while I chose to remain standing.
When I looked at the two men, I noticed that they both had surprised expressions on their faces.
“Sherry?” they called together, in the form of a question.
I frowned, then quickly looked at her.
“Who are you?” she asked seriously. She, too, looked surprised that they called her name so easily, as if they knew her.
“My name is Lee, and the man next to me is called Chase,” the warlock answered.
“I don’t know you,” her cold response came.
“Of course you don’t, and that’s because we had only met once at Ian’s pack,” he answered, as I angrily glared at them.
“Ian’s pack?” she asked in a whisper.
“Yes, do you know anyone by the name of Felix?” he asked.
She moved her hands together and placed them on her lap.
“You mean that purebred vampire?” she asked.
“Yes, she’s my woman,” the fairy answered proudly.
“I see,” she said calmly, then smiled when I placed my hand on her shoulder for comfort.
“Honey, let’s hear them out, please,” she said, shocking me.
What happened to not speaking until I approved it?
I wasn’t happy that she was going against my words, but at the same time, I felt pleased hearing her call me in such a manner.
“Honey, please,” she whispered, then moved her hand and pressed it against the side of my hip.
When the tingles spread throughout my body, I instantly found myself giving in.
“Fine, but if it’s out of my hands, I won’t be able to help them,” I answered seriously.
“Thank you,” she said as I smiled.
“Pardon us, but are you two perhaps mates?” the warlock asked.
“You sure are slow,” I answered, then leaned in and kissed her forehead to show her off.
She was mine, and they had to know whether they were Ian’s friends or not.
