ANASTASIA
“It wasn’t easy for him, but he found his ground and came back when they didn’t expect it. Diego had begun building himself from scratch again. He made himself stronger than ever, and when those Mafias saw this, they were afraid.”
“They no longer saw the weak Alpha who ran all their dirty errands, but a beast out to hunt them all. That’s why Woods kept himself hidden from Diego. He couldn’t recognize him after he returned with full force. That bastard knows well that he stands no chance against my Alpha if they are left alone to fight. He’s just hiding behind his men like a coward.”
And my old man thinks Diego built himself from people’s blood. He doesn’t know the kind of struggles he went through to rebuild the things those Mafias took from him.
Yet he goes about with other people, painting Diego as an enemy.
My Alpha Lord isn’t the monster here. All those Mafias are the real devil.
“Now he’s after that substance they are all holding dear to their heart. He feels Woods is the mastermind behind the creation. If Alpha Diego can get a cure to counter the effects, he’ll have a weapon more powerful that the drug itself right in his hand,” Arnold shared Diego’s plan.
But still feeling troubled, I flashed to the death stare I saw in my Alpha’s eyes and asked Arnold, “Is that why his mood changed?”
I felt my body shiver, as I walked up to the Beta and sat next to him, wrapping my arms across my chest.
“I couldn’t recognize him anymore. He was completely different.”
“You aren’t the only one who saw it, Anna. I did. And it’s not the first time,” Arnold shared, placing his hand on my shoulder.
“I know you’re new to this sudden feeling he’s expressing, but trust me… He’s still the same man, ” Arnold said trying to comfort my quivering heart.
“He’s just going through the road of regrets and rage. You just need to give him some time to get himself back. Please, don’t be afraid.”
“Okay,” I nodded, hoping he doesn’t dwell in this fury for long.
After listening to all Arnold had said about his past, I can’t help but pray to the heavens that Diego’s thirst for Revenge doesn’t lead him into a path that’ll take him away from me completely.
I really don’t like what I’m seeing at the moment.
“Just try to cope with him. I’m sure he’ll be back to himself and remember that you’re now a part of his life. You’re his family,” Arnold said sweetly, caressing me on the face.
When I felt his touch, I smiled at him, but my body… It was reacting again!
Like a spark, I found myself getting on Arnold and trying to push him down into my bed!
The Beta was stunned and immediately turned me over, pinning my hands down against my chest!
“What are you doing?” He questioned, staring at me in shock.
But I couldn’t explain it. My body was showing it!
Again, I reacted and tried to push Arnold over. He increased his strength on me, holding me down in my spot, until I was able to resist, shaking there on the bed.
When Arnold saw this, he knew what was happening.
“You aren’t supposed to react like this. This is different from what Jeremy said,” He observed, carefully drawing away from me.
I sat up, feeling the heat inside my body.
“I need to get the Alpha quickly,” Arnold decided, ready to rush out and call Diego.
But when I thought about my Alpha and the mood he was in, I became worried.
“Arnold, no! ” I stopped him, holding his hand back immediately.
“Don’t tell Diego, just… Just take me to Jeremy now,” I said, rising to my feet.
“Why don’t you want Diego to know? He deserves to…”
“Arnold think about it! How will he react when he sees me acting like this? Just think.” I began breathing, leaning against the wall when the infection came spreading all around.
With a groan and a squeeze to my body, I managed to resist once again, lifting my head to look at the Beta.
He was looking at me with concern. He really wants to call Diego.
“You can see that Diego isn’t himself right now. If he hears that I’m reacting to the infection again, do you think he’ll attend to me like he always does?” I asked, knowing well what I’ve seen in my Alpha’s gaze.
“Diego isn’t the same right now. You said it yourself too. If you tell him about this… He might just see this as a setback and end up unleashing a feeling I can’t handle. I know what I’m saying, Arnold.”
The Beta groaned and gave in to my request. He understood my point and decided to take me to Jeremy without telling his Alpha.
I don’t want to see an increase in his rage. I’m already afraid of the one he’s displaying at the moment.
.
Arnold brought me to the lab without Diego knowing. He was too busy with the guards that he didn’t even see when we left the mansion.
When Jeremy ran a test on me, he was shocked by what he discovered.
“How is this possible?” He exclaimed, looking at Arnold and I. “The infection has increased in you! There’s a lot of the substance in your blood!”
“What?!” Arnold exclaimed in shock, looking at me.
“There’s no way this amount just appeared in you,” Jeremy said, looking at the reports.
With heaviness in my heart, I told them what really happened.
“Woods… He injected a whole bottle of the drugs into my body when he captured me. I was unconscious and didn’t know, until I found myself almost naked with my body filled with bruises,” I shared, feeling unhappy with the way things were going for me.
This sudden news made Jeremy and Arnold worried.
“This is bad, this is bad!” Doc held his head, tossing the papers to the ground angrily.
Arnold squatted in my front, holding my hands tight. “Why didn’t you tell us on time?” He asked, showing concern.
I lowered my head sadly and replied, ” You know well that I always carry Diego along? I wouldn’t have stayed quiet if we weren’t trying to escape Woods.”
“But when we were returning…”
“When we were returning… I had no courage to tell Diego because I saw the change in him right there. He stared at me with so much anger and I got so scared to even talk to him,” I shared, trembling.
“That’s not my Diego. He’s… He’s lost.” I sniveled, feeling helpless.
Arnold couldn’t hold himself back. He got to his feet and hugged me, directing a question at Jeremy, “What can we do?”
“I don’t know, Beta. We’re looking at a whole bottle here! This is a big problem!” He panicked.
“I have to call Alpha Diego and get him to work faster,” He planned, sparking fear into my heart.
Before I could stop him, Arnold rushed up to Jeremy and took his phone from him.
“You are not going to call the Alpha. He can’t know about this, especially at this time!”
“Beta, what are you saying?! He needs to know!”
“Not now!” Arnold raised his voice, grabbing Jeremy’s collar!
I got worried and feared they were going to fight because of me.
But they didn’t.
“I expect you to understand this more than Anna, Jerry! Have you forgotten how you almost ran mad when the Alpha came to you for your service?! Do you still remember the way you vented your frustration in the secret, wishing he never chose you to work for him?! Do you still remember all that rage he displayed?!” Arnold sparked, igniting something in Jeremy.
“At this point… The Alpha is back in that position. We have seen this and overcomed, and we can still handle his rage, but Anna might not bear it. That’s why I’m begging you not to give him a hint of what is happening to her, not now… Please,” Arnold begged, letting go of Jeremy’s collar.
Jeremy was trembling. He turned to look at me and saw the fear in my eyes.
Whatever mood Arnold was talking about, I’m sure it’s the same thing we both saw.
Having no choice, Jeremy gave in. He lowered his head and said, “Then you need to find a way to hasten the Alpha’s step, Beta. From what I’m seeing, Anna is already knocking on the door to the last stage.”
I shivered in fear, feeling my fingers quivering.
The image of that Lady who died in that room came hunting me.
I don’t want to end up like that.
“I’ll try to see what I can create to subdue the spread. But you need to stop resisting, Anna. This is a dangerous moment for you. If you feel the itch, just let it out until your body is calm, okay?”
“Okay,” I sniveled with tears welling in my eyes.
They couldn’t help but feel sorry for me.
“I’ll try to work hand in hand with the Alpha to get the drugs quick. I’ll also try to make sure he doesn’t lose track of the main plan,” Arnold promised.
Jeremy shared his plan in creating a special sex tool for me, so I won’t have any problem struggling with the ones I have.
“And please, if the Alpha comes anywhere near you, don’t allow him to touch you, ” Jeremy warned.
“It’s dangerous for you both. You can’t allow him to get infected, no matter what.”
“I understand. I’ll try my best to keep myself from losing control,” I promised.
In my heart, this feels like a heavy load of duty. But I know we’ll handle this together.
We just have to make this work until Diego is back to himself.
Now isn’t the right time for him to know.
.
One month later, I became a prisoner in my own shell and in the Alpha’s mansion.
A lot of things were taken from me by Diego, and it has affected me deeply.
I no longer had the freedom to step out unless I’m heading for my check up at the lab.
Diego no longer comes near or even talks to me like before. I became a total stranger to him.
The last time I made an attempt to bring that spark back inside his heart, he gave me a different spark I prayed to never receive from him again.
My fragile heart crumbled that day. I felt so shattered.
It’s been long we even hugged or kissed each other. He no longer looks at my direction anymore.
Diego gave all his attention to his mission against Woods and the other Mafias. He became the beast my father portrayed him as. Going about, hunting down his enemies without a rest… A total beast.
News of different dead bodies surfacing different places all around was a clear evidence of how far he has gone in his quest for revenge.
I hardly hear him mentioning his plans to get a cure for the drugs. It’s always about Woods this and Woods that. How to dominate here and how to dominate there.
What about me?
A few weeks back, I heard Diego succeeded in getting two bottles of the drugs and gave it to Jeremy to create an antitoxin. But the doctor couldn’t provide the right results.
The samples he made faded instantly in the body of the three test subjects in his lab.
There was something missing to make the right cure.
And how did I know all these?
Arnold.
The Beta has been giving me updates so I won’t feel left out.
He would sometimes make up time after attending to Diego, to come and see me.
And today was no exceptional. He had no choice after what happened.
“I know you’re trying to get him back to himself, but you can’t allow yourself to keep getting hurt over and over, please,” Arnold said, sympathizing with me.
I was sitting on the bed with my eyes all wet. My Diego had bruised my heart once again and I felt pained.
I went to see him in his room with his breakfast in the morning, but when I got there, he was getting ready and set for work.
He saw me and angrily asked why I was out of my room.
“I brought you your breakfast. I’ll just set it aside and…”
“Go back to you room!” He yelled at me.
I was shaken by his tone and tried to maintain my composure, but I ended up messing up by losing my grip on the tray.
Everything came falling down on the floor, and that increased Diego’s anger on me.
“GET OUT!!” He shouted, scaring me.
I drew away and fell right into Arnold’s hold. He came right on time to save me from being attacked by Diego.
Arnold was the one who brought me back to my room, apologizing for what his Alpha did.
This has been going on for one month now, and I feel like I’m at the edge of breaking into a million pieces with no repair.
“Forgive him, please,” Arnold pleaded on Diego’s behalf, so I wouldn’t feel hurt anymore.
“It’s not easy for you, I know. Please try to bear with him.”
“I know, Arnold. I’m… I’m not angry, ” I said, trying to believe that statement myself.
“I understand what he’s going through.”
He’s drifting away from the track. I’m so worried about him.
He has allowed this revenge to cloud his head, making him lose his sense of thinking.
And this hurts me deeply.
“My Diego… Please, please come back to me.” I wrapped my arms across my chest, feeling my eyes welling again with tears.
When Arnold saw this, he wanted to help wipe them off, but I immediately stopped him from touching me.
“It’s starting again,” I alerted him at once, feeling the infection kicking in.
As promised one month ago, Jeremy created a sex tool that could please my level of hunger.
It was a little device that would created a speedy vibration on my clitoral button, forcing me to release more than the infection wants till I’m tired.
But lately the device has been giving me low power and I had to bring this to their notice.
“That reminds me,” Arnold said, pulling out a container from his pocket.
“Jeremy wants you to take two of this pill every night at nine P. M. It’s a sleeping tablet that will help weaken the infection and prevent you from feeling itchy all the time.”
“Isn’t this the same pill he gave to that lady?” I asked, remembering the infected girl who died.
Jeremy was giving her sleeping pills at that time.
“Almost. This one has more effect than the first,” He said, placing it in my hand.
“He’s trying to see if he can make another vibrator for you, but he’s also choked with the work the Alpha gave to him,” Arnold shared so I’d understand how busy Jeremy was.
“Take this at nine tonight. You’ll sleep for eight hours straight. When you wake up you’ll feel weak. But that’s a sign that the tablet is holding the infection. So, you don’t have to feel worried.”
I hummed, looking at the medicine in my hold.
I thanked Arnold for his help and he carefully patted me on the head, taking his leave so I can have my privacy.
When he left, I carefully went to the closet and pulled out the device I’ve been using to subdue my urges.
As I stared at both pills and sex tools, I… I broke down.
I fell on my knees and began to cry.
What have I become?
I don’t even know what I am anymore. I feel so lost.
