Logan’s POV
“What do I want from you all?” He responded in an inquisitive tone as I dived at him, using my werewolf heightened speed.
But then, I guess he anticipated it long enough as he happened to dodge it, then he pinned me to the wall.
He raised his eyebrows as he looked right into my eyes. “What were you thinking before making that crazy move?” He smirked as he looked at me.
He tightened his hands on my collar like he was about choking me to death. I remained calm and sober as he always happens to make me feel defeated.
I frowned my face as I stared back at him.
“Is this your attempt to get rid of me?” He scowled angrily as he tightened his grip. “You know I wouldn’t mind ripping your heart from your chest and causing a little commotion here. Bohen’s second son, dead.” He mocked as he let go of me as we heard an approaching footstep.
He smiled broadly as he arranged my shirt as the two blonde ladies walked through the hallway.
“Are you not bothered about what I know about your brother’s killer?” He shrugged as he questioned me.
“And why should I be?” I snapped as I arranged my collar properly. “Thinking you will keep being at advantage is crazy because someday, the tables will turn around and you know what next? I will make sure I torture you.” I cursed angrily as I looked right into his eyes.
“Can you stop daydreaming, Logan?” He smirked as he rolled his eyes. “Do you ever think the tables are ever going to turn?” He queried as he grinned.
I frowned my face as I walked closer to him. “I see you are too confident. But come to think of it, Dahlia Morgan isn’t completely free. With a snap of my fingers, she will be dead and also, there is something important you are yet to know, over protective elder brother.” I chuckled softly as I watched him recline as he frowned his face.
“I see.” I chuckled as I looked at him. “Surprised that she never mentioned anything about her life in highschool to you.” I grinned.
He remained quiet as he maintained his grumpy face as he looked right into my eyes.
“Oh! Are you getting on the defensive side?” I chuckled softly as I finally felt this joy within as I watched him frown.
“I would love to see you get on the defensive side when your father, Alphonso, gets to find out who killed his most beloved.” He scowled as he looked right into my eyes.
He still wore a frown on his face as he looked at me. “And right after that, who knows?” He chuckled softly as he arranged my collar again. “You might just never make it out of jail and even if you do, someone else might be the Alpha already to the pack you desperately wanted to rule.” He said as he chuckled softly.
I paused for a while as I frowned my face. “What does he know? Why is he being too accurate? How did he find out? I made sure no one was there, I did.” I questioned myself as I kept staring at him.
“I will always be at an advantage and whatever happens, Dahlia will always be privileged to be called family and one thing about me is, ‘I don’t hurt family.’ I hope you get to learn that in your afterlife.” Collins tapped my right arm, causing me to jolt as I felt my wolf sprawling inside of me in defeat.
He smiled at me for the last time as he looked at me. “Great party. One thing I love about the Bohen’s family. And… have a great night and enjoy the party. It might be your last one.” He scowled before walking away as I remained numb for a while.
I stood there, completely drained and having no single atom of joy in me as his every word did nothing rather than to demoralize me. I groaned bitterly as I kept pacing about in the hallway.
I felt my heart beating fast and unsteady as I couldn’t return back to the big hall.
“Heyy, Logan? What’s up?” I heard Owen’s voice from behind as he walked down to where I stood in the middle of the garden.
It was impossible returning back to the party after my brief argument with Collins Morgan. One thing was certain and that was he was fully aware of who killed Liam and that means, he was definitely going to tell Jayson someday.
“We have been in there waiting for you, man. What are you doing here all alone by yourself?” Owen questioned as he stood directly opposite to me.
“I am fine, Owen.” I responded as I turned to him.
“And you actually expect me to believe that?” He chuckled softly as he turned to me. “Alicia told me you met with Collins in the hallway. There is no way you both didn’t indulge in a petty fight.” He snapped as he looked at me.
I gasped out at the thought of Alicia as flashbacks of how she responded when Collins had touched her arm. “Oh! I see.” I chuckled softly as I looked at him. “He just went about blabbing like before.” I said as I rolled my eyes before looking away.
“If you say so. Dahlia seems to be having a great time there. I guess they are intentionally trying to torture us before striking. I wonder what their grand plan is.” He groaned bitterly as he looked at me.
“We can’t say for sure what it is.” I winced as I pushed in my hands in my pockets. “But whatever they are up to, it is something that will change our lives forever and sadly, we may never make it back together.” I whimpered as his every word kept replaying in my head.
“Are you sure about that?” We both turned around as we saw the last person we never imagined to see.
