Chapter 104

Book:The Alpha's Hot Chase After Divorce Published:2025-3-3

Owen’s POV.
“Fantastic, isn’t it?” I scowled the moment I saw Jayson Holmes walk into the pack house.
I couldn’t help but jolt up immediately. “First, it was Collins Morgan and secondly, it’s your uncle, Jayson, walking into the founder’s banquet with the one man who is here for revenge. Isn’t that awesome?” I whined as I turned to look at Logan who still had his full shock on his face.
“This isn’t good, trust me!!” Jack mumbled as he also got up as he looked at Jayson who was now in a chit chat with his father.
“Okay. Cool, he is now looking at us and why in God’s name is he smiling at me?” Peterson cursed as he rolled his eyes.
“Not you actually.” I snapped as I stepped forward. “He is definitely up to something and we mustn’t play to his tone.” I shrugged as I turned back.
“He was able to come in because of my uncle. I will have my father throw him out.” Logan scowled angrily as he quickly turned around in a bid to walk away.
“No!!” I gasped out as I saw Collins stretched out his hand. “This can’t be, Logan!!” I mumbled as I held his hand, stopping him from walking away.
He turned around as I saw his jaw dropped as mine had dropped the moment I saw the lady who approached him.
“How is she even alive?” Peterson whined as he looked at her.
“Dahlia… Morgan.” Jack stuttered as I finally solved the puzzle. It wasn’t a puzzle after all, it was us being stupid all along.
“How could we have missed this part? She went missing after the incident as well as her brother, Collins.” I mumbled as tears swelled up in my eyes.
“He was never running because he was scared of us. He was never running because he was hellbent on making us pay.” Logan muttered as he kept staring at Dahlia, Collins and the other man we haven’t seen before.
But from their body movement, he was superior to the man.
“Now, this is getting scarier and funnier.” I whimpered as I stepped forward a bit. “If… now I know why he had such confidence. He wasn’t relying on those footages. He has been running all these years, trying to distract us from Dahlia. He was only keeping her safe till he wanted to strike back at us.” I chuckled softly as tears rolled down my cheeks.
I quickly wiped it off as we watched them embrace each other warmly. “Okay, this is fucking amazing. Isn’t it?” I sneered as I turned around to look at them trying so hard to ease the pressure.
“So, what do we do now? And… What if your uncle is aware of it already? If your uncle is on his side, then trust me, I can’t say how lucky we would be. We would be sentenced to jail and hell no, there’s absolutely no way I am going there. I can’t let over 15 years of my life go wasted because of a crime we thought was completely buried.” I cursed as I turned to Logan and the rest of them.
“Patricia should be here. Not like she is completely free from all these. She was the one who lured them by the way.” Jack cursed as he looked at Patricia who was having some girl’s time with Alicia and Amelia who were my guests.
“Leave her out of this, Owen.” Logan snarled as he rolled his eyes. “Let her be. I can’t let Alicia suspect anything. I can’t get her entangled in my mess, in my family’s mess.” He snapped as he took a glass of wine from the waitress who walked past us.
“So, what will you have us do now?” Jack queried as he looked at Logan who seemed to have completely nothing to say too.
“Were you expecting an answer?” I scowled as I looked at Jack. “Right now, I can’t even feel my legs, I wonder how I am standing.” I scoffed as I chuckled softly.
“Now isn’t time to be humorous, Owen.” Peterson said coldly as he frowned his face, then he kept on staring at Collins and Dahlia Morgan.
“But… What business does he have with your uncle, Jayson?” Peterson turned to Logan as he stared at Logan who still looked completely lost.
“How am I supposed to know?” Logan responded coldly as he walked away angrily.
Peterson exhaled heavily as he turned to me. “Nah! Don’t even go there.” I said as I rolled my eyes before walking out on him and Jack.
***Logan’s POV***
“Having a long night?” I heard that familiar voice as I turned around without wasting a time.
I rushed him immediately as I gave him a dirty punch on his face, causing blood to gush out from his nose and mouth.
“Oh, sh*t!!” He cursed angrily as he took out his handkerchief, then he wiped off the blood from his nose. “I will take that as you venting your anger as to why I came late to the party.” He said as he walked towards me as he stood right beside me.
He took the glass cup of wine I was holding. I was yet to even drink it as I had lost the appetite for it.
“Are you good?” He asked as he gulped in the entire wine.
“And why do you care?” I fired at him as I turned to him. “Why are you even here?” I queried as I looked at him, then chuckled softly.
“You showed up and what next? Few days later, you walk into the party with a man who is after our life. This party is a party meant for Alphas, who are related to the founding families. What exactly are you up to, Uncle. Jayson?” I fired at him as I looked at him.
He threw the glass cup over the balcony as he turned to me. “I know you don’t like me. And for Collins, we are just friends and guess what, he is a big lover of the Bohen’s family. I wonder how.” He chuckled as he looked at me.
I forced out a smile as I stared at him.
“He knows something relating to your brother’s demise. He wouldn’t tell me.” He said as he looked at me.
Without saying another word, he wore a broad smile before walking out.
