Jayson’s POV.
“Hello, Jayson.” Grace snarled angrily the moment I answered her call. “Where are you, for crying out loud?” She scowled angrily as I could hear her pacing about in her room.
“Come on, Grace. Can you just at least calm down?” I sneered as I opened the can soda that was in the car.
“How do you expect me to calm down, Jayson?” She fired at me aggressively and angrily. “For how many years now, you haven’t attended the banquet and finally you showed up unexpectedly and now, it’s almost time for the party to begin and you are nowhere to be seen.” She scowled.
“I wonder how red your cheeks would be now since you don’t want to calm down.” I chuckled softly as I turned to look at Collins who was looking at the road.
I rolled my eyes as I continued with my call. “You just have to give me a few minutes and I will be there. I told you that I won’t be missing this year’s founder’s banquet. It’s a very important ceremony for the continuous blessings of the moon goddess upon our clan.” I muttered with a broad smile lingering on my face. “There’s no way I’m missing out tonight.” I assured her as I pulled over the fashion house.
I ended the call as I exhaled sharply, then I raised my head upright. “So, we are here, what next?” I snapped as I turned to Collins who wore a straight face, making it completely impossible for me to guess what exactly was going through his mind, and there was absolutely no way I could read through him unless he let me in.
I sighed as I looked away.
“Can we get down now?” He finally broke his long silence as he opened the door, then he got down even before I could say a word.
“Really?” I cursed as I also got down immediately, then I locked the car.
“How sure are you? What if you are wrong?” I couldn’t help but ask him.
“How sure am I?” He chuckled softly as he continued walking.
He walked into the fashion house and I followed him behind. It was such a luxurious sight to behold, and whoever runs here was one hell of a fucking millionaire.
“Good evening, boss!”
A red haired lady greeted as she lowered her head.
“What?” I gasped out as I looked at him in shock. “How is this even possible? How many more secrets is he hiding? What other business is he into?” I asked within as I kept staring at him.
“Good evening, darling.” He responded coldly, as he looked straight like he was seeing something only he could see.
I looked further, squinting my eyes before I came to the conclusion that he was really a difficult person.
“Ace left quite not too long with your sister, Dahlia.” The lady informed him. “Is there any other thing I can get done for you?” She asked.
I couldn’t imagine how he managed to have become this successful but then, it was questionable.
“Inform Damian to bring him out. We have got some party we better be at already.” He shrugged as he turned to the lady, then he smiled benevolently, and the lady smiled back at him as she nodded her head.
“Mason?” I gasped out as the man I believed to be the said ‘Damian’ stepped out from one of the doors with Mason right in front of him. The red haired lady walked closely beside them.
“I guess we have got some trouble to deal with.” I cursed within as I watched Mason who was still perfectly intact approach where we stood.
“What point are you trying to prove?” I turned to him as I growled angrily.
“Point?” He chuckled softly. “What point are you talking about?” He turned to me as he smiled.
“Good evening, boss!” The gentle looking man with a scar on his right eye greeted Collins the moment he got close enough.
“Evening, Damian.” He said with a broad smile on his face. “How has Chicago been treating you?” He questioned as he looked at Damian who still held Mason firmly, not letting him go.
“It has been awesome. Everything has been as you said. The music, the art, everything, and also, their werewolf history seems fascinating.” He muttered as he wore a broad smile on his face.
“Fantastic, Damian. And, you don’t have to ask how New Kingston has been treating me, as you can see, Ace has been taking good care of me. I can never be better than this.” I said with a smile as I looked at him.
“You can let him go now.” He shrugged as Damian allowed him to go.
I was still shocked as everything was unveiled before me. “Chicago?” I muttered as I turned around. “Don’t tell me you are also living your life in Chicago as well?” I questioned as I furrowed my eyebrows.
He said nothing rather than to smile. He looked at Damian, and the red haired girl, waving them off.
“So, I have my eyes on everyone. And you know, the moment you try making a move on me, I will go down with everybody you love. Everyone!!” He threatened as he smirked.
I turned to Mason who remained quiet as he stared at me too. I turned back to Collins, as I was still in shock as to how he had abducted Mason within a short time.
And then, I guess the question wasn’t in my favour any longer. I remembered walking into New Kingston, and being the mysterious guy for a few hours, not until I met Collins Morgan who now happens to be the mysterious man.
His phone rang and he quickly picked up. “Okay then, have a great time partying and tell the rest not to hesitate to take down anyone who dares harm Dahlia.” He said with a broad smile as he ended the call.
I looked at him as he locked his eyes with me. I couldn’t help but ask, “Who really are you?”
