Collins’ POV.
I finally had the strength to get up. Everything was tiring but then, if I wanted this to work, I needed to keep working and I was already more than fascinated by Elena Toussaint.
I got up from my bed as the sun ray that passed through the curtains made it impossible for me to continue my sleep.
“Fuck!!” I groaned as I looked at my alarm clock. “8:00 am already? Must this fucking time always be in a haste?” I cursed as I threw it against the wall, causing it to break.
I wasn’t a fan of setting an early morning alarm clock. If I am to be punctual, then I will be and if I am to be late, then I will.
I walked inside my bathroom as I brushed my teeth and then had my shower. I stepped out from the bathroom after cleaning my body, then walked inside my closet, which was a small room filled with black wardrobes and black cabinets that reached my waist.
For some reason, I enjoyed wearing my boots but then, it was just another working day, and I had to go for something light and casual.
The last thing I ever wanted was to blow my cover that has been hiding me for four years now. I picked up an old, black hoodie as I wore it on blue jeans that seemed faded as well and then, my black and white sneakers.
“Good morning, boss!!”
I bumped into Ace the moment I stepped out of my room.
“Good morning, boss!” He greeted me again as he lowered his head.
I forced out a smile as I walked past him. “I know you have something important to tell me. So, what is it?” I shrugged as I walked down the stairs.
I could hear his footsteps from behind as he was trying to keep up with my speed.
“Tomorrow, there will be a banquet.” He muttered as he went quite like he was expecting me to gasp out in shock.
“Yeah, every ninth month. They believe it is the harvest moon and they do their so-called celebration and thanksgiving. So, what about it?” I asked as I entered the kitchen finally.
Dahlia was there already as she was preparing breakfast.
“Oh! Good morning, Morgan.” She greeted me as she wore a broad smile.
“How many times do I have to tell you that addressing me as Morgan isn’t necessary? Why don’t you just call me by my name, Collins? Or better still, call me brother, Dahlia!” I scowled as I dropped my briefcase on the mini dining table in the kitchen.
“Can we not do that now?” She snapped as she looked at me.
“And what did I tell you about doing the chores?” I scowled as I took the knife away from her.
“And how many times do I have to tell you that I am strong now, brother?” She fired back.
Her words pierced through me as my ears picked the word, ‘brother,’ in her statement. For five years now, I have long heard her call me brother and finally, she just called me brother.
Tears settled down my eyes as I stared at her. “Okay then, fine!” I said as I dropped back the knife on the kitchen table.
I turned away as I arranged my coffee. I enjoyed more of black coffee with three cubes of sugar and that was it, it was my own magical coffee.
I could see the facial expression Dahlia had. There was a whole lot I couldn’t tell her, not now.
She looked at me from my sneakers up to my faded hoodie, it wasn’t really faded but then, it had this low quality.
I smiled as I sipped my coffee, maintaining silence as I ignored both Ace and her.
Ace stood there as he kept looking at us. “Fuck!” I cursed as I turned to Ace. “How could you have forgotten?” I groaned as I looked at him. “There was meant to be a pack meeting by 6 today and you forgot?” I scowled angrily as I looked at him.
“No, not at all. I was keeping to your words. I woke you up repeatedly and you repeated the same order, ‘call off the meeting, tomorrow we can have it, my apologies to them.’ And I had to call it off.” He muttered as he looked at me.
“Huh?” I gasped out as I brushed my head backwardly as I felt nothing but frustration right now.
“Okay then. Tomorrow, we will have the pack meeting.” I shrugged as I turned back to Dahlia. “Since you are back, I hope you are ready to get seen again?” I grinned as I looked at her.
I had the perfect plan now. I turned to Ace as I looked at him. “Five years and you have controlled the pack and also, the family business. So, tomorrow, I will be letting you have a good time with my sister. No love or whatever.” I ended with a light growl as I looked at him.
“She is Dahlia Morgan and your girlfriend. And Dahlia.” I called out her name as I turned to her direction. “You are the girlfriend to the multimillionaire, Ace.” I grinned as I held her chin. “Good luck, sister.” I chuckled softly as I picked up my bag, leaving behind my suitcase as I walked out.
Ace followed me from behind as he opened the garage for me. “So, how do you plan on getting into the banquet?” He asked as he looked at me as I walked down to my pretty old fashioned motorcycle.
“Getting in?” I chuckled as I looked at him. “I meant it back there. By noon, you will receive your invitation code and when you step in there, it will be Morgan’s style.” I said as I grinned.
I climbed the motorcycle as I started the engine, ready to blow off.
“One more thing, boss!!” Ace said in a calm tone, gaining my attention.
I knew Ace. Whenever he spoke calmly, then there was definitely a huge mountain of fire happening somewhere. I turned to him as I stopped the engine.
“And what is that?” I queried as I looked at him sternly.
“Our server picked up some suspicious signals early this morning. Came from Tennessee.” He muttered as I frowned immediately.
