Dahlia’s POV.
“Keep me safe?” She chuckled softly as she looked at me. “Every day I curse myself for still being alive. Of what use am I to Felix and Veronica?” She cursed as she looked at me.
“Can we not go there now, Dahlia? Haven’t we had enough of this argument already, Dahlia?” I shrugged as I got up from the black sofa I was seated on.
“Five years ago, I know you ended up working under Eriksson’s firm and things got messy at the end of the day but that wasn’t your fault in any way, Dahlia. You always let your guilt get the best of you which I don’t find cool.” He growled angrily as he looked at me.
“It doesn’t change the fact, Morgan. I got pregnant, I gave birth to those kids out of wedlock. I saw my entire life collapsing right before me, don’t you understand that?” I fired back as I coughed.
“Is that why you attempted suicide 3 years ago? Huh?” He asked angrily as he looked at me. “All I ever did was to love you. To always be there for you. What if I had stayed back that day? You were ready to leave those innocent kids in this world. Would that have given you the peace you longed for?” He scowled angrily as he looked at me.
“Everyday I live with the torment of that day, Morgan.” I whimpered as tears swelled up in my eyes. “You won’t understand that. I know the pain I pass through every time and nothing changes the fact that I am here, just as a burden to you, Morgan.” I said as tears rolled down my cheeks this time around.
“How long can you carry this burden? Or even train Felix and Veronica, knowing fully well that they belonged to the one man you hate so much?” I questioned as I looked at him.
He exhaled sharply as he looked at me. And went on being silent for a while as he tilted his lips and raised his right eyebrow upward.
“Last I checked, Dahlia. I never complained about you being a burden to me. Yes, they are Owen’s children as well but then, they are yours too. As far as I am concerned, I will always be here for you, and for them, I will make sure that Owen pays for his sins, one by one.” He said, gritting his teeth with so much rage.
“And about this?” I interrupted him as I scanned the mansion we were in. “How long has this been going on? Three years and you never made mention of it to me.” I scowled as I looked at him. “And why the urgency all of a sudden? Why bring me here finally since all you claim to ever be interested in is my wellbeing and that of Felix and Veronica?” I questioned as I looked at him, still wearing a straight face as I suddenly felt like within the years of being indoor, a lot must have changed.
“I am fully aware that you know we are in New Kingston, and surprisingly, Owen is here as well as the other children from the six founding families of New Kingston’s riches.” He smirked as he looked at me.
“And as well, Jayson Holmes, uncle to Logan Bohen. I guess he gave you this mark.” He grinned as he raised my head upward as he rubbed his index finger lightly on the scar.
“Owen liked you, yes! But then, he was such a dick to let Logan and Liam and that coward, Peterson, convince him that an orgy-like experience would be good.” He scowled as he got back up on his feet.
“Logan wants you dead and right now, they are on the move for your present location and once they find you, they will come pay you a visit.” He chuckled. “So for now, you will stay here. This way, I can be able to protect you from them and Felix and Veronica, they will now learn from home.” He muttered as he looked at me.
I looked at him as I was still trying to process everything he just said. “Why would he want me dead?” I said in a whisper as I looked at Morgan who was still staring at me.
“He wants you dead because with you, they won’t be able to escape. They think you are the only way out but then, I have something else important to get done.” He grinned as he looked at me.
I could tell from that look. I knew him so well and now, I wonder how many secrets he has been keeping away from me.
“Why would he still choose to work under The Eleven Hotel and Resort when he now controls a powerful pack and has access to all of Edgar’s property?”
“What is he up to?” I squinted my eyes as I looked at him, as he wore that devilish grin on his face.
Alicia’s POV.
“I told you Amelia, something is definitely wrong.” I said as I bit my lower lip, furrowing my eyebrows like I had the answer stuck somewhere in my head.
“Why are you so interested in it now, Alicia?” Amelia rolled her eyes as she continued pressing her phone.
“Why won’t I? For crying out loud, I work as his personal assistant and I am curious as to finding out what exactly is going on, Amelia. Can’t you understand me?” I whined as I rumpled my hair with my fingers as I stood at a place, looking at myself in the mirror.
“Alicia, you have hated the Bohen’s family for as long as I can remember. You said they’re nothing but a deadly pack and here you are, getting frustrated because you want to know what exactly is going on.” She sneered as she looked at me.
“So, what next after you get to know? What if it’s something dirty as always? Will you report to the cop or take them to court or actually, end up like the other mysterious dead girls?” She cursed.
