Collins’ POV.
I walked inside my apartment as I turned on the bulbs in the room. My black cat was peacefully sleeping on the mini bed I had made for him. I walked down to where it was as I squatted down next to her.
I rubbed her thick furs as she curled up even more.
“I see you are back, Morgan.” Dahlia muttered as she rested on the wall. “What are you up to, Morgan? What’s all this?” She questioned as she looked at me.
I got up, standing upright as I looked at her. I pulled off my black dress boot, leaving myself just on black silky socks.
“What’s going on?” I wore a frown as I looked at her.
“I just sent the kids to bed. A man pulled in an hour ago and brought us here. Whose house is this? Why are we even here, Morgan?” She shrugged as she looked at me.
“You should be asleep, Dahlia. You know you are not strong yet.” I said, furrowing my eyebrows as I looked at her.
“That doesn’t answer my question, Morgan.” Dahlia rolled her eyes as she looked at me. “Last time I checked, we are just orphans and we never had rich parents or even uncles. So, what’s this?” She asked as she looked at me.
She made an effort to move but then, she missed a move as she tripped off.
I used my werewolf speed as I caught her from falling.
“Welcome back, boss.” Ace greeted as he stepped out from the kitchen.
“Boss?” She said in a whisper as she pulled backwards, then she looked at me. “What exactly is going on here? First, this man pulled in and carried me and my kids and now, the moment he sees you, he calls you boss.” She shrugged as she looked at Ace.
“Good evening, Ace.” I greeted him as I wore a straight face.
He bowed his head as a sign of respect as I was their Alpha. Talking about me, most people find me mysterious and that is one thing I find super exciting {grins}.
“I guess you won’t even try making me know what exactly is going on here?” She scowled as she looked at me.
“Prepare the pack warriors for a pack meeting by 6 a. m tomorrow.” I muttered as I used my right fingers to send him off, leaving just me and Dahlia alone.
I turned to her as I smiled but then, she had frowned her face as she looked away.
“Okay, fine! You want to know what’s going on, right?” I sneered as I looked at her and all she did was to nod her head as she fixed her eyes on me.
“Guess this would be the perfect introductory line.” I chuckled softly as I continued.
“I am Collins Morgan, nothing really exciting about me. I was born in Massachusetts, grew up there as well and something more interesting was the fact that I was from a lineage of mere wolves, the Omegas.
But then, I guess the moon goddess had other plans for me after my life got jeopardized still in Massachusetts.
If I ever had an enemy, one true enemy that I swore vengeance against, it would be Owen Eriksson, son of Ian Eriksson.
And after my sister became one of his numerous victims, we fled to Tennessee after a failed attempt to end his life and I was seen as a threat because of the evidence I had in my possession.
The six founding families joined together was a formidable force that can’t be broken, just no matter how hard you tried but then, being an Alpha now, not just any Alpha, but a powerful Alpha that has a powerful pack like mine, it was certain that I had higher chances of winning.
“My fate changed three years ago when I returned to Massachusetts. I bumped into a beautiful lady by name, Desdemona.”
“That was all I knew about her. Her blonde hair was one that struck to heart and her light skin was the perfect thing anyone would wish for. She was perfect, had the perfect body size and lovely figure for a lady who was in her late twenties already.”
“I had saved her from some men who tried taking advantage of her as she was returning from her usual clubbing and then, to return the favor, Edgar, Alpha of the Night wolves pack had given out his daughter, Desdemona to me.”
“Six months, I spent learning how to love and what it feels like to love someone. Those six months were the most beautiful months of my entire life that went down the drain after the tragic event at Massachusetts.”
“Six months of being with her, I went into combat training, learning how to balance my human side as well as my werewolf side. That was one of the things Edgar made sure his army had. It was seen as a strength and voluntarily joining his pack warriors, I had to learn it as well.”
“But then, I guess I still had other things to fight for as Edgar and Desdemona died in a fatal auto crash.”
“And then, being the only one left as a family, the Alpha’s spirit was passed down to me naturally, making me an Alpha.”
“Three years and counting, I have slowly learnt all the legal and illegal businesses of Edgar and within the years, I have done nothing else than to maintain the status quo and carry his legacy ahead but then, through my beta, Ace.”
I raised my eyebrows as I looked at Dahlia who was still in shock as she couldn’t believe a single word I had said.
I chuckled light-heartedly as I looked at her. “I knew you were going to find it hard to believe but yes, when I returned to Massachusetts, I got married and she was pregnant with my child before the tragic auto crash happened.” I forced out a smile as tears swelled up in my eyes.
“Those months of staying in Massachusetts. I never could get my mind off you but then, I wanted to keep you safe.” I shrugged as I looked at her.
