Chapter 92

Book:The Alpha's Hot Chase After Divorce Published:2025-2-25

Jayson Holmes’ POV.
“Isn’t that disappointing?” He asked as he used his werewolf speed to get to where I stood like he was about entering my body.
“Who are you exactly?” I asked again as I looked at him. “And what’s your interest in this society? It is common to protect our own no matter what evil is committed. We value family first, no matter what.” I shrugged as I looked at him.
He looked at me as he smiled at me. “It’s fine, Jayson. Guess we will see some other time!!” He grinned as he looked at me.
I heard a fast rushing sound from behind as I turned back to see what it was, and before I could turn back to the mysterious man, he was gone and the moment he was gone, his freshly woody and musky scent was gone already.
I scanned the environment repeatedly as I was searching for him.
“Looking for someone?” I heard a familiar voice as I turned around to see who it was.
“Oh! Here you are.” I snapped as I looked at him. “Wasn’t expecting to see you, Logan.” I shrugged as I looked at him.
“I wasn’t expecting to see you here up till now.” He scowled as he looked at me.
I looked at him as I smirked. “Sure about that, Logan?” I questioned as I looked at him. “Last time I checked, your car is parked down there and not here and the male’s toilet, VIP section has a special place as well. So, what brought you down here?” I looked at him, still wearing a one sided smile. “Or are you looking for someone?” I smirked as I furrowed my eyebrows, looking at his eyes as I leaned on my car’s bonnet.
“I just wanted to clear my head.” He looked away as he brought out his cigarette from the pack as he lighted it.
He looked at the opposite building, from brick to brick and then, his eyes fell to the trash can right after the wired fence.
“I just had to clear my head. What did you expect when the last person I ever imagined to show up, shows up and not just showing up, but brings out things I had fought so hard to forget.” He mumbled as he smoked his cigarette.
I watched him, as I remained quiet while I listened to him.
“So, what do you have so far? Father as well is still searching for Liam’s killer.” He shrugged as he looked at me.
I rolled my eyes as I looked away. “It’s already getting late. Why don’t we set a different date? I am already feeling sleepy and tomorrow is going to be a very stressful day, because I plan to pay a visit to your mother, my sister!” I muttered as I forced out a smile.
“It was quite embarrassing back there. I know I’m the last person you would want to see and trust me, once I’m done here, I promise to leave New Kingston for good and this time around, I am not ever going to step back here.” I muttered as I looked at him.
He stayed calm as he looked at me. And without giving him an extra minute, I entered my car and drove off.
Logan’s POV.
I stood there as I looked at Jayson’s car exiting the long street. There was a lot going through my mind now as I watched his car.
It was a lonely night and the place was quiet as I looked at the poles. I threw the cigarette to the wet ground as I smashed the cigarette with the tip of my shoe.
“Are you good?”
I turned around as I looked at Owen. I smiled as I looked at him. “Sure, sure. I am.” I muttered as I pushed my hands in my pockets.
“What was that for in there?” He asked as he looked at me.
“Nothing!!” I responded briefly as I looked at him. “I wasn’t expecting him. We weren’t good right from the start, so seeing him only pissed me off.” I shrugged as I looked at him.
The place remained quiet for a while as we looked at the tall building opposite the club.
“And… and what about the other girl?” I asked as I looked at him. “Anything about her yet?” I questioned.
“Yeah. The other girl, Dahlia. The last footage of this girl was seen in Massachusetts and then, Tennessee. Seems to be doing fine. Was seen with two kids and a man. I have people digging about the man but for now, nothing yet about him.” He responded as he looked at me.
“Two kids? What’s their age grade like?” I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked at him.
“That was 3 years ago. So, by now they should be about 4 years and 5 years old.” He muttered as he looked at me.
“Exciting!!” I grinned. “But then, I want to know who the man is. And also, find her new location. We have to get to her before Collins gets to her.” I sneered as I looked at him.
“If he gets to her before us, trust me, we are going to be in deep shit. The other girls, how about them?” I asked as I looked at him.
“You remember, Jenna never survived it. Ended her life a few months after the whole incident and the other one, Regina, we have nothing to worry about because she got married and currently, she’s away, far from here.” He responded as he looked at me.
“So, where is her current location?” I asked.
I wanted to be sure that I had absolutely nothing to worry about.
“Africa!” He muttered as he looked at me.
I gasped in relief as I exhaled heavily. “That is relieving!!” I whispered to myself as I raised my eyebrows.
“So, I guess all we need now is Dahlia. Once you find her location, guess we get to pay her a visit!” I grinned as I looked at Owen.
