Elena’s POV.
I yawned, stretching my body on my bed as my alarm clock rang. I groaned as I was not fully ready yet to get up from my bed.
“F*ck! F*ck!!” I cursed as I stretched my hand to the cabinet as I pressed the top of the alarm clock as it stopped ringing out loud.
And even before I could return to my peaceful sleep, I felt a heavy thud on the bed as Kanu was now on my body.
“Mummy?” He called out as he kept poking me and the moment I raised my head up, finally opening my heavy eyes, I saw Kiana who was running with so much force, also getting ready to make a jump on the bed.
“Mummy, good morning.” They both chorused the moment Kiana successfully landed on the bed.
I groaned as I wrapped them in my hand. I printed numerous kisses on them as they giggled.
“Mummy?” Kanu said excitedly as he dragged my right cheek, and Kiana did the same to my left cheek as they both burst into laughter.
“Are you two making fun of mummy?” I chuckled as well. I remained on the bed with them for a while as they were now relaxed, cuddling me and Kiana slept off during the process.
I chuckled softly as I looked at how innocent they were. But then, a frown came up next as I realized it was going to be the full moon night today.
“I promise to be there for you two tonight, okay?” I shrugged as I rubbed Kiana’s hair backwardly as I looked at Kanu who was awake.
He smiled at me and I reciprocated it. One thing I couldn’t bear was seeing any pain come close to them, and every time I gather the courage to call Alice and tell her about their early transitioning into their wolf form, I end up losing the courage when I am close to press the call button.
I was deeply worried for them. How was I to know if this was actually a good sign or not? This was the first time seeing such, and it broke me the more I knew that I got to experience it because of my two little, adorable angels.
The alarm clock rang again, and I quickly turned it off as I had set the second time to 6:30 a. m.
I got up as I woke Kiana up from her sleep and I took them into the bathroom as I brushed their teeth and then bathed them. And while they were getting dressed up, I quickly rushed into the kitchen as I prepared their breakfast.
It wasn’t anything much, just four slices of bread, margarine and tea. And I was just right in time as their school bus pulled over at the front of the house.
“Okay, it’s time to say goodbye to mummy.” I said in an excited tone as I looked at them.
“Goodbye mummy!!” They chorused together as they waved their hands at me as they picked up their lunchbox.
I frowned as I went down on my knees. “Just that?” I said, tilting my lips, feigning sadness and they quickly noticed why I was acting up, and they both rushed down to where I knelt down as they embraced me warmly.
“And what is the no. 1 rule?” I said in a whisper.
“Do not talk to strangers, take anything from strangers, or go anywhere with a stranger.” They both chorused together as they chuckled softly.
“Very good. Very good.” I repeated in excitement as I kissed their cheek.
They rushed out as they waved their final goodbyes to me. It wasn’t intentional but then, the hours I stayed away from them were now years away from them and if possible, I wished I could have more time with them.
I walked down to the window as I looked at them as they hopped into the bus and it drove off and the next person I saw caught my attention.
“Collins?” I gasped as I watched him come out from one of the blocks.
He looked completely different today and he had this serious face today. He was neatly dressed in a blue pinstripe suit and a long black coat that almost reached his ankle.
My eyes noticed his shoes and all I could see was now a completely different personality altogether.
He walked down the staircase as he walked towards the next pole but then, all of a sudden, he had disappeared after a truck drove by.
I raised my legs as I kept on scanning the place if I would see a trace of him but then, he was completely gone.
I furrowed my eyebrows as I closed the curtains and the next thing that happened made me jolt up as my heart skipped as I heard a ‘not-Marie’ kind of knock.
I looked through the pigeonhole and was amazed to see it was Marie. “Why am I being too edgy now?” I scowled as I quickly opened the door for her.
And the first thing she did was nothing but to scream out my name in full blown excitement. I rolled my eyes as I looked at her.
“Are you being serious right now, Marie?” I scowled as I looked at her.
“You know, talking about Clark. He is such an annoying being.” She scowled as she walked in, shutting the door behind her. “He definitely made my life a living hell yesterday but then, it all ended well at the end of the day.” She chuckled softly as she bit her lower lip.
I looked at her as I rolled my eyes, paying little attention to whatever she had to say about Clark now.
“You know you owe me an apology, right?” She said as she tilted her lips.
“Yeah, I know.” I snapped as I forced out a smile.
“So?” She said as she stared at me.
“Really?” I frowned.
“Of course.” She scoffed as she wore a broad smile which I found annoying.
“Okay, fine!! My apologies, I’m sorry!!” I scowled and she embraced me warmly like she was about suffocating me.
