Owen’s POV
“Okay, this isn’t anything we should take lightly.” Owen scowled as he kept on pacing in the room. “I don’t know why you take this lightly, Logan. Maybe you don’t know how bad the situation is here.” Owen groaned as he kept on pacing about.
“But how is that even possible?” Peterson snapped as he raised his eyebrows. “For five good years he has been on the run. None of us expected this, Owen.”
“He can’t do anything.” Logan cuts in.
I paused for a while as I looked at Logan. I chuckled softly as I tried not to overreact but then, it was completely impossible not to overreact under this condition.
“This isn’t the Collins you knew five years ago. The Collins I saw yesterday, I think it’s best that none of us underestimate him for our own good.” I snapped as I looked at Logan.
Logan now wore a straight face as he looked at me. And I was more than glad that he was now beginning to understand the actual shit we were deep into.
“Yeah, that!” I nodded my head as I looked at Logan. “Three years ago, when we even messed up with those girls, everything that happened.” I remained unsettled as I took out the brown envelope as I dropped it on the table.
Logan quickly picked it up and the way I reacted when I saw it, that was the same way Logan had reacted and that was exactly what I wanted. Shocked.
He passed the envelope to the others and they all had the same shock on their faces too.
“See now? I guess you all now understand the gravity of the situation.” I scoffed as I relapsed on the chair I was seated on.
“I wish there was a way we could get him off our necks but then, have you seen him lately?” I furrowed my eyebrows as I still had a clear picture of him in my head.
“I did justice in pointing out the fact at different times that he wasn’t scared of me, and funny how he was the bigger figure there. He had this mystery all over him all of a sudden, and the way he relaxed on the chair as he smoked his cigarette was something out of this world.” I mumbled as I looked at Logan directly.
Logan remained quiet as he kept on staring at one of the pictures. His eyes glistened with rage as he looked at the picture.
“And what happens next when our parents get to find out?” Jack finally broke his long silence as he looked at the pictures repeatedly.
“Disown us!!” I gasped out.
“Disown us? Are you insane? No way. They won’t.” Jack snapped immediately as he looked at me.
“How sure are you? Anyways, I was just telling you the same thing Collins had said and also, Logan, please, in all your thoughts and contemplations, leave the killing aspect out of it, because he clearly stated that if he eventually dies, the pictures will be shared through different mediums.” I mumbled as I looked at him.
Logan said nothing as he got up from where he sat down. He looked at all of us before walking away as he banged the door really hard.
“There he goes.” Peterson groaned as he looked at the door as it closed heavily.
“I will talk to him.” I snapped.
“But we control all the media in New Kingston. We get to decide what goes public or not?” Jack Willows scowled as his father was generally in the media fields and within the years, the Willows had seen to it that nothing derogatory about the founding six families made it to the media.
It was totally impossible keeping lawsuits away and that was the only time they entered the media.
“Then what about Facebook, Instagram, Reddit and even X?” Peterson said as he rolled his eyes.
“Exactly, Jack. We just have to look for a better way to get rid of him.” I groaned as I looked at Peterson and Jack.
Logan stood at the balcony as he kept looking outside with his hands inside his pocket.
“Logan?” I said calmly as I walked into the balcony. “You good?” I asked, furrowing my eyebrows as I looked at him.
He remained silent as he kept on staring outside.
“Yeah, I get that!” I chuckled softly, trying to lighten the mood but then, I guess it wasn’t in any way going to help right now.
It all happened so fast, and so unexpected and for the first time, I felt vulnerable.
“If he goes ahead and publishes those images online, we are all doomed.” Logan chuckled softly.
He did that often whenever he was confused and also, out of ideas as well.
“We can’t destroy any evidence.” He said calmly. “And what about the girls?” He asked this time around as he turned around to look at me.
I stared at him for a while as I couldn’t get where he was driving exactly.
“I… I have no idea about that. Maybe, I will check in throughout this week.” I muttered as I looked at him.
“But what next after we find the other girl?” I asked him before he walked out on me again.
“We kill her.” He said in a husky voice, and all I saw right now was the beast that he was.
We were all beasts after all, spoiled by our parents because of power, fame and politics. I scowled as I rolled my eyes.
“Are you being serious right now?” I gasped as I looked at him.
“That’s the only way if we want to stay alive. I bet you are not ready to get sentenced to life imprisonment?” He snapped as he looked at me sternly before walking away.
I remained there, unable to even move at the point, as I had different thoughts rushing in. I looked at the others, Jack and Peterson, and I could see that they were definitely going to take sides with Logan this time around.
I looked away as I held the wall next to me.
“What happens next? Do we stand a chance of getting him off our neck for good?” I scowled as tears settled in my eyes.
