Owen’s POV.
I sat down across the table as I kept staring at Collins who remained quiet.
“I know you went speechless the very moment you saw my message.” He muttered as he wore a grin.
“What do you want from me?” I asked as I frowned.
“You should know better by now, Owen. Your face doesn’t scare me a bit!!” He snapped as he looked at him.
I exhaled sharply as I looked at how confident he had become. Five years of being on the run ever since our last encounter in Massachusetts which never ended well.
It happened so fast but then, with my father being the second strongest werewolf Alpha in New Kingston, and a successful businessman in Massachusetts which made it completely easy to get out.
“You know what I find amusing?” I scowled as I looked at him.
He rolled his eyes as he crossed his right leg across his left leg. He gently raised his head as he looked at me with his eyes which weren’t widely open.
“I find your audacity commendable. Coming right into my city. Do you think you stand a chance against us?” I scoffed as I looked at him.
He sipped his coffee as he looked at me, and the next thing he did was push his hand in as he brought out a lighter which was customized with a black and red colored scorpion.
He put in his cigarette as he lighted it.
“Who do you think you are?” I queried in annoyance as I watched how nonchalant he was acting to everything, like I have been talking to myself for over ten minutes now.
He puffed his cigarette to my face as the smoke choked me. I chuckled softly as I looked at him. “I see. Such confidence!!” I grinned.
“Remember this?” He muttered as he took out a brown, small envelope as he dropped it on the table.
I remained calm for a while as I kept staring at the envelope. I felt my heartbeat spike up like it was about to explode.
I raised my eyebrows as I looked at him. “What is he up to?” I furrowed my eyebrows this time around as I looked at him.
He went back to playing his dumb game as he said absolutely nothing to me rather than the smoke from his cigarette that made me cough at intervals.
I looked at his hazel eyes which were now fiercer than the last time we met, which was five years ago.
He wasn’t the little boy in college anymore.
I felt uneasy as I couldn’t predict what he was up to next. I kept staring at him but then, it was completely obvious that all he was concerned about was me opening the envelope he had dropped on the table.
“Are you scared?” He grinned as he looked at me. “Why don’t you go ahead and open it?” He scowled, making fun of me but then, I had to let it all go by.
“You think you are even a match to me?” I quickly changed the conversation as I got up from where I sat down.
He chuckled softly as I looked at him. “Or maybe, you are not as strong as you claim to be.” He scoffed as he looked at me.
“I know what game you are trying to play.” I chuckled softly as I looked at him. “You know, I knew you were definitely going to step your pathetic feet here in New Kingston all in the name of revenge.” I scoffed as I looked at him.
“But sorry to inform you, if you plan on seeking justice here, hoping you could get it. I am sorry to inform you that you won’t even stand a single chance. So, you better leave New Kingston for good, and move on with your pathetic life.
Collins shrugged as he got up on his feet, as he picked up his black, fur coat. He quickly wore it as he pressed his cigarette with his hand before raising his eyebrows for now.
He picked up the brown envelope that remained untouched by Owen. “I could hear your heart beat at a very fast pace. And if you think that I am scared of you, then I’m sorry to disappoint you.” Collins said in a husky voice as he untied the knot that was used to close the envelope, as he threw it back on the table, while the pictures inside fell out on the table.
I paused for a while as I looked at the pictures. And right that moment, I couldn’t help but pick up the envelope as I went through it.
I swallowed my saliva as I kept going through the pictures..”What do you want from us?” I couldn’t help but ask as I went through the pictures.
“How did you get your hands on these?” I questioned further as I felt my heart suddenly stop.
He said nothing as he got up from the chair he was seated on. “Don’t even think about playing smart here because if anything happens to me, these pictures will make it round the internet and imagine what next? Your parents will have no other option than disowning you in order to protect their political interest in New Kingston.” Collins scowled as he wore a grin on his face.
He picked up his coat that he hung around the chair as he wore it back on. “See you later, Owen.” He grinned.
I kept staring at him as I couldn’t explain how he got pictures from three years ago.
“Has he been stalking us recently?” I furrowed my eyebrows in shock as I crashed down back on the chair as I brushed down my hair backwardly.
The more I tried to ignore everything that just happened, the more it stuck to my flesh, causing me to groan and leaving me reckless.
“Why is he back to New Kingston and what is he planning to do this time around?”
