Marie’s POV
He smirked as he looked at me and yet, I still had my wolf sprawling all because of his presence, despite the embarrassment I was experiencing right at that moment.
“See you later, Marie.” Elena said as she forced out a smile. She left her soda with me, making me feel more stupid as I couldn’t look at Clark.
I quickly took my hands to my back as I looked at him, forcing out a smile, and seeing the reflection of my face made me more sober as I looked like someone who was about to cry.
“Okay, Marie. Take a chill breath. In and out.” I exhaled heavily as I looked at him.
“So thoughtful of you getting an extra soda.” He finally broke his minutes of silence and looked at me from head to toe like he was sizing me up. He wore an effortless smile as he looked at me and his right hand, stretched out as he wanted one of the sodas.
“How could I possibly explain that one of the sodas belongs to Elena who just successfully ditched me?” I scowled as he looked at me, still smiling in a weird manner as I slowly took out the bag from my back.
“Here you go.” I muttered as I looked at him.
“Is he really doing this intentionally?” I frowned, as I looked at him as he quickly grabbed one of the cans, then he opened it. Seeing him smile right now only made me feel more embarrassed.
I rolled my eyes the moment he turned around. “Darn it! Such an annoying being.” I scowled as I looked at him. “And Elena, I promise to make her pay for this!! At least she should have signaled to me that he was coming towards our direction.” I groaned as I held the bag that had the other soda inside.
“Won’t you drink it?” He asked as we got into the elevator.
I hated the way he looked down on me every single time he spoke to me. “What in heaven’s name does he feel like?” I cursed as I looked away. “I will.” I responded without smiling.
“Are you okay? Did anyone piss you off?” He said with a clearly visible grin as he looked at me.
I rolled my eyes as I knew that he was only trying to make me feel more awkward, because I stupidly confessed to the fact that I was having a crush on him.
We finally got to our block and the moment I stepped out, I tripped backwards as I shut my eyes, then my hands went up.
“Why do I keep having a bad day whenever I’m with him?” I groaned the moment I tripped off, but then, I fell to his arms. I felt the sudden current that passed through my body, and I wished I could just remain there, right in his arms.
I opened my eyes slowly as I looked at him. He was looking right into my eyes, making my cheeks fluster as they got red. I looked away as I stood back on my legs.
I couldn’t help but hiccup this time around as I looked at him.
He chuckled softly as he walked away, and all I could do was stand there and watch him walk into the office. He was just too perfect and I hated it.
I watched how he tossed the empty soda can into the trash can. He opened the door as he took off his blue jacket to drop it on his desk. I loved how perfect his shape was.
Within a blink of an eye, he was seated on his chair, as he looked at me again. I swallowed my saliva as I rolled my eyes. I shook my head in defiance as I walked towards my mini office which was just a stone throw from his desk.
Luckily for me, Clark had received an urgent call from Rex as he picked up his coat to rush out immediately. And the moment I got up and moved my outer jacket, I heard that voice that did nothing than to make me groan.
“Make sure I get today’s record from the bar on the beach. Rex would want to get it.” He mumbled as he looked directly at my boobs that were now visible.
He looked at my eyes as he smiled broadly before leaving, and I felt my heart settling almost immediately.
“Heyy, hello?” I waved at the supervisor as he raised his eyebrows.
“Collins.” He muttered as he looked at me. “My name is Collins.” He said again and this time around, with a broad smile on his face.
“Ohh, yeah. That!!” I chuckled softly as I looked at him. “I wasn’t able to get your name when we came earlier. My name is Marie.” I mumbled as I stretched out my hand.
I looked at him as I wondered how he was this different. Even his palm was soft. “About your records, I will be getting it from you once you close for the day.” I muttered as I looked at him.
He nodded his head, as he continued with what he was doing before I came in.
“Sure.” He muttered as he looked at me. “It won’t take more than thirty minutes to get it done. The whole records weren’t just tallying.” He chuckled softly.
His peach lips were enough to drive anyone crazy, and I was definitely going to make sure that Elena saw it the way I did too.
I smiled as I looked at his lips. I couldn’t get my eyes off it. “Okay then, see you later.” I muttered as I went back to my office.
The moment I stepped into the office in my grand and frenzy manner, my eyes met with Clark’s eyes. I paused immediately as I couldn’t explain how he was back, so quickly.
He raised up his magazine as he continued reading. I felt my heart aching badly as he continued reading his girl’s magazine.
