New Kingston. The Eleven.
Collins Morgan POV.
If there is anything I came to desire, it was to linger in this place. I was quick to fall in love with the quiet and stillness of the place. And most importantly, the lady I had bumped into yesterday.
It felt like forever as throughout that day, I wasn’t opportune to set my eyes on her again. I enjoyed my new job as a supervisor, because I had no distractions around, and also, another day to have a peaceful life without shutting the windows of my room because of the neighbors who lived next door.
This was my dream job in getting a perfect apartment and I no longer had to wake up very early in the morning and drive my motorcycle around New Kingston, searching for a job. And most importantly, no impromptu job invitation that ends up ruining my day and leaving me completely frustrated after I return home without a job.
Talking about me, Collins Morgan, the guy with long eyelashes, hazel eyes and light brown freckles, I had one thing I was deeply obsessed with and that was art.
In my spare time, I spend it either on poetry or drawing and painting, but most of the time, I just draw on my notepad since I could easily carry it around.
I relapsed on my work chair, leaning back on it as I crossed my legs on my work desk and my notepad. It was on my thighs as I was drawing the most perfect thing I had ever seen since I stepped into New Kingston.
I felt my heart drop the moment I raised my head up. It was the lady from yesterday.
“What is she doing here?” I gasped out as I jolted up from the chair, then my notepad fell to the floor. I turned around as I looked at the mirror that rested on the wall. “Is she here because of me?” I blushed as I brushed my hair backwards and my eyebrows, I used my index fingers to brush them down.
I arranged my collar as I dusted my black jeans. I stumped my shoes on the floor thrice before stepping out.
“Heyy, hello?” I waved my hand as she raised her head up.
And the moment my eyes met with her grey eyes, I felt my heart melting at a rapid rate.
She smiled as she looked at me. I could hear how her heartbeat got unsteady as she looked at me. “Hey?” She reciprocated my smile as she tapped her fingers on the counter.
“Is she really nervous now?” I chuckled within, as seeing her alone made my wolf sprawling.
“You want something?” I asked her as I walked into the counter.
“Umm, yeah.” Her friend quickly responded as she looked at me.
She also had a broad smile on her face as she looked at me. “We just want some sodas. Cola.” She said precisely as she looked at me.
She remained quiet as she allowed her friend to do the talking, and throughout the order, she only wore a broad smile as she looked away.
“Okay.” I responded as I looked at Elena. “Just sodas?” I asked.
“Yeah. Just sodas.” Her friend responded again, as she had her eyes locked to mine.
I swallowed my saliva, as I went in to get them chilled cola.
And finally, after taking years to look at me, her eyes met with mine as she tilted her lips.
“Can you wrap it? We need to get back to work.” She responded.
My ears ache to hear more of her voice. For some unknown reasons, I felt my body reacting to her being here, close to me. I loved her scent and wished I could imprint my scent on her sooner or later.
I quickly packaged their order as I handed it over to her friend.
“Thank you!” Elena said in a calm voice as she looked at me.
“Hey, Elena?” I called her as she turned around. “Please, can…can I have your contact?” I asked as she wore a straight face.
“Maybe some other time.” She said as she turned away.
“Darn it!!” I felt this hurting pain as she turned away. “Fuck! You just ruined it, you shouldn’t have been in a haste in asking for her number.” I groaned as I exhaled sharply.
*****MARIE’s POV*****
“Are you being serious, Elena?” I scowled as I frowned. “Damn! Not like I’m tripping for him, but you just turned him down.” I sneered as I looked at Elena.
“Come on, Marie. Can you not start now? I don’t even know him. All I know is that he is the new supervisor.” She frowned as she looked at me.
“Come off it, Elena. I saw the way you both looked at each other. I saw the whole attraction between you two.” I snapped as I looked at her.
“You can say all you want, but I was just trying to reciprocate his high spirit.” She said in defense, as she turned to look at me.
“You don’t have to be in defense already, Z.” I muttered as we returned back to the hotel.
“You know? I think he will make a great friend. Damn! Those light brown freckles are something worth noticing and can’t you see his height? Trust me, if he was working in the inner section of The Eleven, he would have had many girls drooling for him, and maybe, just then will you know that you have to grab an opportunity when a kind, tall and sexy man shows interest in you.” I scoffed as I rolled my eyes.
“If I was that lucky, and wasn’t already crushing on Clark, trust me, I wouldn’t have hesitated when he had asked for my contact. But there you are, turning him down.” I scoffed as I looked at her.
I furrowed my eyebrows as I watched how quiet Elena remained as she looked in front and the moment I turned to the front, I felt my heart skip.
“Clark?” I groaned as I shut my eyes for a while before opening them again.
