Chapter 74

Book:The Alpha's Hot Chase After Divorce Published:2025-2-25

Owen’s POV.
BOECH.
“Hey, good morning, Owen.” I turned around as I saw Tricia. I looked at her red lipstick which made her full lips more seductive.
“Good morning, Tricia.” I responded as I smiled broadly. “How was your night?” I asked, while I walked her down to where her desk was.
“I’m fine.” She smiled, tilting her lips as she looked at me. “And you? How was your night?” She winked at me as she looked at me.
I knew what she was doing. I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked at her. “My night was beautiful too, Tricia.” I responded as I looked at her.
She smiled at me as she bit her lower lip.
“I know what you are doing.” I smirked as I looked at her eyes. “About the night in the bar, can we…”
“It’s totally fine.” She chuckled softly as she looked at me. “I loved it and I am looking forward to going to the beach for the movie night.” She said with a smile as she looked at me.
“Really?” I sneered as I smiled. “What exactly did you love?” I questioned as she blushed.
“That is it!!” I chuckled softly as I looked at her and she laughed.
“Heyy, man? What’s up?” Peterson greeted me as he tapped my back.
“Oh! The UI/UX designer himself.” I hailed him as I looked at him.
“You weren’t around yesterday. Hope everything is good?” He asked me as I smiled.
“Sure. I overslept and also, my dad had an important event to attend and he sent me instead. So, I took a day off from Logan.” I answered as I leaned on the wooden frame on Tricia’s work desk.
“Oh! What event? Don’t tell me it was the award night?” Peterson asked as he looked at me.
“Are you being serious right now?” I scowled as I furrowed my eyebrows. “How could you forget the award’s night date?” I scowled as I looked at him.
“You won’t blame me. You know I don’t pay attention to it. Wait?” He chuckled softly as he looked at me. “Am I the only one who doesn’t find the award night interesting?” Peterson chuckled softly as he looked at Tricia and Owen.
“Definitely yes!!” Jack walked in with a can of black coffee. “Do you even know that sooner or later, we will become the head of the family and taking the awards will be our duty?” Jack rolled his eyes as he looked at Peterson.
“Okay, enough already.” Peterson snapped as he looked at me. “Before we become old enough, the award night may not even be as effective as it is now.” He scoffed as he looked at Owen.
“Well, as for me. I will be attending the award night and nothing is going to stop me from attending it.” I mumbled as I looked at them.
Peterson walked down to his own desk as he sat down on his couch. Being friends, we sat down closely.
“So, what are your plans for the night?” I overheard Jack say in a whisper as he leaned on Elizabeth’s work desk.
She looked at him as she forced out a smile. “I keep telling Jack. I am always busy, every single day.” She smirked as she rolled her eyes, while she continued with her work.
He tilted his lips as he sat upright on his chair, then he continued arranging his desk he had left messy the previous day.
I chuckled softly as I looked away, while Tricia was still doing her best to seduce me, and on my side, I was doing my best not to fall for her trickery.
I rolled my eyes as I walked down to my chair, then I dropped my bag next to my desk.
“What’s going on between you both?” Jeremy looked at me as he said in a whisper.
“Really?” I scowled. “Can you not go there right now?” I smirked as I looked at him. “We are just close friends.” I said in defense as I looked at him with a straight face.
“Come on, Owen. You think I haven’t been observing you both since you stepped in? Right from the moment she greeted you up till now, I’ve been seeing the eyes and also, the lips.” He scoffed as he wore a grin on his face.
“How’s your love?” I snapped as I looked at him and within a blink of an eye, he rolled his eyes, showing no interest in talking about his lover.
He exhaled sharply as he returned back to his work desk.
“Oh, hey? What’s up?” Jack screamed at the top of his voice as he looked at Alicia who just walked into the office.
“First day at BOECH. How does it feel?” Jack muttered as he looked at Alicia. “Don’t tell me you are still trying to fit in?” He looked at her as she forced out a smile.
“Hey, hello Alicia.” I greeted as I smiled at her.
She reciprocated my smile as she walked down to Peterson’s desk.
“Good morning, Alicia.” Peterson greeted her, and she did the same too.
“Logan said I should drop this for you.” She muttered as she dropped down the brown envelope she came in with.
Peterson opened the envelope as he went through the files, then he looked at them thoroughly. I saw the smile that escaped through his lips. “Oh! A new project.” He muttered as he looked at the paper.
“What is it about?” I shifted my chair backwards as I looked at the paper. “Is he planning on opening a cafe?” I queried as I looked at Alicia who wore a straight face, making it obvious that she had no idea about it either.
“I love this. From everything, I feel he is the one in charge. Bohen’s Haven. Eight star rating. Absolutely Bohen.” Jack chuckled softly as he looked at us.
My phone beeped twice, it was a call from the last person I ever expected. “Collins?” I gasped as I furrowed my eyebrows.
