Helen McKinsey POV
“Yeah, you came here on a special recommendation.” The man muttered as he looked at me. “You can proceed to filling all the necessary things and signing all important documents. You can also choose to resume tomorrow.” He said conclusively before I left the room.
I couldn’t hold down my job as I kept smiling broadly. Finally I could get a higher pay and not just that, maybe, a better life here in Cleveland.
I groaned as I stood at the entrance of the door. I remembered my Mr-Perfect and I turned around to have a look at him again for the last time but then, it didn’t go as I had imagined in my head as I bumped into him, causing my files to fall to the ground.
“Oops!!” I winced as I quickly raised my head up. “I… I’m really sorry.” I quickly apologized as my cheeks got red again in embarrassment.
He smiled briefly which sent me aback almost immediately as I was dumbfounded.
“Huh? What?” I asked myself as I furrowed my left eyebrow, one talent I had. I chuckled.
“Did he just smile at me?” I couldn’t hold back my shock as I couldn’t believe that the grumpy, looking young man who seems to be in his early thirties, tall, slim fitted and imposing, and not just that, a quite magnetic force that even Cleveland celebrities were all over him, trying to get his attention and all they got was that his grumpy, straight and arrogant face.
I shook my head, getting off from my thoughts as I squatted down to pick up my file that lay scattered on the floor but then, I went down on my ass, leaving a light thud.
I held my head as I raised my eyebrows. We both laughed softly.
“Oh! I’m sorry again.” I apologized again as he was effortlessly squatting on the floor.
“Oh! It’s nothing.” He responded and hearing his voice made me feel nervous again.
“Why is he doing this to me of all people?” I whimpered as I looked at him, then he also assisted in arranging my files.
We both got up as he looked at me right into my eyes, making my heart pound heavily and fast.
“Kingsley. Kingsley by name.” He introduced himself and I saw how two of his security men looked at each other in shock.
I guess it was the first time they were seeing him talk this way to someone.
“Helen McKinsey. From New Kingston, Bohen’s Bureau.” I pointed out immediately, and I saw his smile that was obviously noticeable now, maybe just to me.
I looked down at his body, as we now stood close to each other, giving me a better chance to have a closer look at the devilish CEO and business tycoon in Cleveland and neighboring cities.
My mind naughtily speaks out as all I could envisage at that point was me being in his arms, getting cuddled by him and also, getting fucked by him.
Who wouldn’t daydream about that too? He was just a perfect definition of perfect and also, beauty.
I raised my head a bit as my eyes were fixed to the broadness of his chest underneath, as well as the muscular abs I was already imagining
We proceeded to the elevator once again. And yes, I was a werewolf, just in case I failed to mention earlier as I was too interested in Kingsley and from time to time, it was certain that we would see each other again.
“Is this his secret girlfriend? Is that why he has been cold towards ladies?” I overheard a lady ask the moment the elevator opened.
The elevator keeps halting and resuming its course. “So, what field are you in?” He questioned and I turned back to look at him, but then, it dawned on me that he was now the one directly behind me.
“I will be working in the legal section of the bureau.” I responded as I raised my eyebrows.
Looking at him up close made me embarrassingly hot, and nervous that I groaned within as I knew he could hear my heartbeat which was racing really fast.
At that rhythm, I guess my heart was about to explode which also made my forehead get sweaty.
“Oh! The law firm. Exactly where I was heading to next.” He shrugged with a sly face as he smirked.
“Huh? Are you actually stalking me?”
I bit my lip as I never knew how it came out. “I’m sorry, I never meant it… that way!!” I quickly apologized as I turned away.
How stupid of me to think that a wealthy and powerful young looking man like Kingsley would chase after me.
He looked at me but this time around, with a frown. “Stalking you?” He chuckled softly. “If I did, then I am sorry.” He teased as he arranged his black tie.
“Nahh!” I snapped it off as I forced out a smile on my face. “I should be the one apologizing. I’m sorry for being rude.” I apologized.
One problem I had was talking before thinking and at that point, I felt my heart beating heavily as I just did it to Kingsley. “What is wrong with me?” I cursed within as the elevator dings open and we stepped out.
“You owe me a hot coffee.” He smiled as he took the lead.
“Welcome!!” The lawyers in the lobby all got up as they greeted him.
And from the looks of things, they were his private lawyers. He whispered to one of them, as the young lawyer turned to my direction.
They talked for a while before they proceeded into the board room. It was the fourteenth floor, two extra floors to where his office was.
“Hey, hello? Welcome. And you are?”
“Helen McKinsey.” I responded with a smile as I looked at the lady.
“Oh! Come with me. I was expecting a lady in her early mid-thirties.” The lady chuckled as she led the way as I followed behind.
