“Did he just allow her to go inside the same lift as him?” One of the girls from earlier said in a whisper as she looked at me and Kingsley.
“I can’t believe my eyes.” Another responded.
I turned pretentiously, as I stole a glance of them and I could see the envy that lurked in their eyes now.
“Why are they so obsessed with him?” I scoffed as I faced off, as the elevator dings open and we all walk in.
He had four deadly, looking security men with him, making us six in the elevator. The door closed and one of the men pressed the button which happened to be the sixth floor too.
“Huh? Six floors too?” I groaned as I looked at the blurry caricature image of him on the elevator. “Why are they going to the sixth floor? I thought he was the CEO and they usually occupy the top floor, and the top floor was the sixteenth floor.” I rolled my eyes.
The elevator pulled up, causing me to stagger as I was lost in my own thoughts. I felt something poke me from behind, causing my heart to race again.
“Why was I being this nervous around him?” I groaned as I closed my eyes tight, ignoring whatever had poked me from behind.
Due to the little space, I was close to the stranger, Kingsley who luckily, would be my boss soon if I get accepted. I had a higher chance here, as I had a recommendation letter from the Bohen’s Bureau, and the Bohen’s Bureau was also a powerful family.
I was coming here to work in the Legal department since I had a degree in Law. I was a newly graduate but then, who wouldn’t want me, as far as I added to their chances of getting out of trouble and also, getting underpaid.
I cursed as I had a flashback to my low salary. I still earned low compared to other lawyers who had field experience than me.
Finally, we got to the sixth floor and the elevator doors opened again, as all the eyes in the lobby fell on us and once again, the ladies in the lobby were drooling over him and the guys, I guess they felt intimidated by his powerful and domineering aura.
He was twice featured in front of Forbes. One crazy achievement and also, he was the face of a big real estate magazine that was solely centered on real estates.
He was one of a crazy ass competition to the King’s Real Estate Company, and I wonder why he would acquire a Real Estate Company which was directly opposite to the King’s Real Estate Company.
I still couldn’t get why they were rivals, and why they were always going against each other as business men that controlled the business world and also, powerful alphas as well.
He was a bit younger and hotter, I must admit.
“Oh! My God, look at the new boss!” One of the women shrugged as she tapped the lady next to her.
I rolled my head as I realized that it wasn’t just the employment section, but it was generally for worker’s meetings too.
We parted ways as he went to the right and I went to the left.
Luckily for me I was a bit early, and I sat down directly opposite the committee members.
It was more like a highschool classroom, as all the people applying for a job sat down like they were waiting for their biology teacher.
I couldn’t get my eyes off the boss. He was a very fit man. And that was why he was being chased by so many girls, not excluding celebrities here in Cleveland.
I was new to the city but then, I was already in love with it, and one of the reasons I was already in love with it is because of Kingsley.
He puzzled my world completely as I still couldn’t explain why I was attracted to him.
I looked outside the section I was in, which was opposite the room he was inside with the present workers.
He seemed relaxed, moved by nothing, and he didn’t bother wearing the slightest smile with the present workers. The room was completely quiet and I could hear the whispers from the room I was inside.
I didn’t even bother looking down, but his face distracts me from that fact. Shit. He’s hot. Like, damn… Before I could properly take in his features, other than the intense eyes, square jaw, dark hair, and stubble, I’m pushed onto him again, probably by the same elbow. Goddamn, that is one muscular chest.
He finally got up from his chair as he climbed the slightly elevated area in the room he occupied. And, of course, his voice is alluring as well. Low, a little husky, as though he just woke up.
“Who the actual fuck is this man? I asked as I couldn’t understand why a man could be this perfect in everything.
His eyes didn’t blink that much. He was strict and his serious face was really worth getting scared of.
Hearing his faint voice that penetrated through the glass that demarcated us was something I couldn’t get my mind off. I felt every hair in my body standing, not excluding the hairs in my pubic region. I winced as I looked away, trying my best not to get lost.
I shrugged, as it finally got to my number and as usual, I aced it unbelievably.
“Hmm!” The aged man lowered his glasses as he looked at me. “I see you are pretty smart and that was what earned you a recommendation from the Bohen’s Bureau.” The man snapped as he smiled sheepishly.
“Fuck you!” I cursed within as I looked at his flirtatious smile. “Does he take me for some cheap lady? With my college degree?” I scowled as I forced out a smile.
“So, congratulations, girl.” The man smiled at me. “You can resume today. Got your things ready?” He questioned as he looked at me, still wearing his broad smile.
“What?” I gasped out in so much excitement.
