Chapter 60

Book:The Alpha's Hot Chase After Divorce Published:2025-2-25

Alicia’s POV.
“Yeah…yeah. I’m okay.” I responded in a calm tone as I forced out a smile.
Now, it made more sense to me as to why the Bohen’s Bureau and the BOECH group of companies had so much in common. The BOECH group of companies also had several lawsuits and they were mostly on money laundering and cyber theft.
But then, just like the Bohen’s Bureau, they always made it out. Till date, the real owners remained publicly unknown.
I raised my eyebrows, as I looked at Logan and all I could see again was the beast I saw all the Bohen’s family to be and looking at his friends, I guess they all shared the same qualities with Logan.
“You looked surprised. I know I was introduced as the troublesome one but I also work in the BOECH group of companies.” Jack muttered as he looked at me, and he had this flirtatious smile on.
“BOECH? Bohen’s Tech group of companies.” Owen sneered as he poured in another shot of vodka in his glass, then he immediately emptied it inside his mouth.
I cursed myself as I finally knew what the BOECH stood for. All along, I thought it was controlled by some powerful Chinese family who weren’t even based here in New Kingston, never knowing that they were the most corrupt family, and a pack that acted as a syndicate group.
“So, Alicia, right?” Owen pulled in.
“How do you know my name?” I quickly pointed out in a harsh voice as I bit my lower lip, refraining immediately as it came out pretty offensive.
Logan turned to me as he looked at me, his eyebrows, partly raised as he tilted his lips.
“Come on, girl. Have you forgotten your lover boy posted you in his gram yesterday? Damn, I never thought there was a beautiful lady such as you in New Kingston.” He muttered as he looked at me.
I forced a smile as I bit my lower lips again, then I rolled my eyes. “Oh! My apologies.” I quickly apologized as I looked at him.
“You know, I was thinking, why don’t we go to the beach this weekend? You know, you bring lawn chairs, drinks and snacks and we set up a camp and also, stay there till dusk, light up the woods and let the fire burn out till the ambience becomes smoky. ” Tricia said suggestively.
“And how about setting up a projector to watch a sweet romantic movie. We could secure a space on the beach after all, either way, it belongs to us.” Owen scowled as he smirked.
“Oh!” I gasped within as I looked at the three of them, before looking at Logan.
It became clear to me. There were six founding families of New Kingston, the longest family to live on New Kingston soil and it just dawned on me that these were the four out of the six founding families.
I rolled my eyes as I was now feeling feverish. “How long can I stay in their midst?” I groaned as I looked at them.
They all looked cool, but who would believe they were all from powerful families?
“So, you’re a soon-to-be college girl too, right?” Peterson got up, as he approached me, standing so close, I didn’t have to yell to be heard over the music.
“Soon to be a college student? I am not yet sure about that.” I responded as I looked at him, wearing a broad smile.
“You know, I never went to college. Why would I go to college when I already have a whole fortune to inherit?” He chuckled softly as he looked at me.
“You know, finishing high school was a big achievement on my side. I was done and tired with my baseball coach, and I wanted to move to modeling and currently, I’m setting up my Modeling agency in Cambridge and Westchester.” He said in a calm voice.
At that point, I stood still, shocked by how someone as young as him had a modeling agency.
“I am currently doing my college degree. English and Literary Studies, and I will be done by next year. Nonetheless, I still chase my tech dreams in BOECH and trust me, girl. It has been a fucking awesome ride.” Tricia said excitedly, as she looked at me.
I forced out a smile as I looked at her. “I’m happy for you.” I responded as I shifted backwards a bit from Peterson who stood up close to me.
“I will be graduating the same day I was born. Engineering. I’m freaking out about it. It’s coming so fast. I never thought I would be graduating soon.” Jack groaned as he looked at us.
“But… but I still work in the BOECH group of companies. Under the product design department. All the Bohen’s company apps are made there.” He chuckled softly as he looked at me. “Surprised, right? I know I look pretty unserious to be a product designer, designing interfaces and all that, but who cares? Life goes on. I’m actually the head of the department, so all I do is supervise and yet, get highly paid.” He grinned as he looked at me.
“What? That’s in a month from now! Congrats, man!” Logan congratulated Jack after hearing his graduation from college was now around the corner.
We all sat down in the VIP section as the club became nosier, as time went by.
“Soon, we all will get to meet our mates and start having pups, and getting ready to become the leading members of the council.” Owen sneered as he smirked.
“Don’t be a criminal. I know you will definitely tamper with the agreed payment of the faction.” Jack scoffed.
“Of course, who wouldn’t do that? Our faction is the beauty of New Kingston and we need a higher pay from the other factions if they want to continue with the peaceful life.” He snapped as he looked at Owen.
I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked at them.
