Chapter 16

It was just like they were hosting a jamboree on the beach. The whole place was properly lit and the hotel was probably a 20 storey building.
We drove past the hotel as we parked the car at the parking lot and then took the wooden bridge that led us to the beach area.
“I thought you said she worked in the hotel? Why don’t we just eat in the restaurant where I can see her instead of coming to this noisy place?” I queried as he led the way.
“You know, when I said she worked in the hotel, I actually meant she worked in the beach.” He said, shining his teeth as he looked at me and then, tilting his lips too.
I scanned the beach. It was filled with people, and I could tell they were more than half of werewolves here too.
It was a pretty long walk to the bar and an annoying one too because of how crowded it was.
“Hello, handsome?” A young lady rested her hand on my chest as she bit her lower lip and then, licking it too.
As we walked down through the crowded area, I did a pretty great job in controlling myself not to push away one of the young ladies who probably weren’t up to their mid twenties.
I growled angrily as I walked closely behind Clark.

Elena’s POV.
My heart fluttered as I saw the one man I had longed to see for eight good days and I never knew when I smiled as I saw him approach the bar and also the jealousy I felt when I saw how girls were all over him.
And I felt this pride kicking in as I saw how he showed zero interest in them. And when I saw how one of the ladies bit her lower lip and licked it as well, I felt the urge to give her a dirty punch on her mouth and watch her bleed.
“Was he here for me? He finally came for me?” I felt my wolf sprawling all over my mind in excitement as he approached the bar with a familiar face.
“Clark?” I gasped out excitedly as the customers I was currently attending to, gave me a weird look.
“Huh?” The girl looked at me before turning to her boyfriend.
“Uhmm, my apologies.” I apologized quickly as I gave them their ice cold beer as they went away back to the crowd.
I shuddered, quaking as I saw them walk in.
“Why was I happy to see him here?” I scowled, cursing as I wore a straight and unpleasant face.
“Hello sexy? Would you mind a dance with me?” A lady who was about stepping out of the bar whispered to him as she got close enough to where he was.
I wasn’t intruding. I just couldn’t keep myself from not prying in and hearing what the lady was whispering.
And my wolf scowled, groaning in jealousy as she watched how ladies were drooling over him.
I was most certainly not drooling. I was just being sorry for the way I treated him the last time. I shouldn’t have slapped him and the thought of it, made my cheeks fluster as I bowed my head in embarrassment.
I raised my head in curiosity to see where they were now and my eyes met with those charming green eyes and I felt myself drowning in them but I couldn’t let my guard down. “Never!!” I cursed within as I frowned, looking away as I attended to a new customer who stood over the counter.
I felt uneasy with him around, my cheeks flustering as they got red. “Fuck! Darn it!! Am I blushing right now? Hell no, not here, not now, please!!” I cried within as I tried to maintain my composure as I tried not to look at him.
“Hello?” Clark waved at me and I raised my head to meet his beautiful smile I had missed for five years now.
He was good to me back then and he always made sure I had nothing lacking.
Sometimes, I couldn’t tell if I was his Luna or if he was my beta, he was just all over me in fulfilling his duties as Rex’s beta in making sure that both his Alpha and his Alpha’s mate were doing fine.
“Hello, how can I help you?” I asked in a professional manner as I kept a serious look. “We have, Ice cold beer, slushies, frozen margaritas…”
“Can you stop already, Elena!?” He snapped, cutting me short. “I’m happy standing opposite you again after all these years.” He openly confessed as he smiled effortlessly.
There wasn’t much change in him like how Rex almost looked different. Clark still had the finest black eyes that matched his wavy jet black hair and his pointed nose.
I called him my Dracula because of how pointed his nose was and because of his surprising love for the vampire series as well.
“I…”
“Can I help you, young man?” Gusto, a Spanish man who happened to supervise the bar and was directly under the manager walked in, interrupting Clark and I had this happiness as he was my savior.
“Uhmm… I… we want two chilled coca cola.” He stuttered as he smiled at Gusto.
Gusto frowned at him as he ordered the other worker who was close to the deep freezer to get Clark’s order. He feigned a smile which still came out scary as Clark also forced out a smile as well as he returned back to the table Rex was seated on.
I exhaled sharply as I rolled my eyes away before attending to the next customer who was already waiting to be served.
I raised my head as I looked at their table but then, it was just as if Rex knew all along I was going to look at him. I gulped in my saliva as I could feel butterflies swamping inside my belly.
