Elena’s POV.
It was a week and a day now, making it eight days without setting my eyes on Rex. It was the weekend as well, and I was going to be having the night shift.
Kanu and Kiana wouldn’t stop asking about Rex. And it was such an adorable name to give the man who they least expected to be their biological father.
Kiana preferred calling him “Chocolate friend” because he had bought them chocolates for them the different times he had met them.
Maybe if they could stop talking about him and asking about him, it would have been easier for me to forget about him again, but no, they kept on talking about him.
“What was so special about him? Was it just the natural bond that couldn’t be destroyed no matter the years of being apart? I scowled as I scrunched down to their height.
“Mummy will be going to work tonight, so I will be dropping you both at her house, okay?” I said with a smile on my face as they both smiled back at me.
I loved how jovial they were always. Without them in my life, I doubt if I would still have my sanity intact.
“So, be a good boy and be a good girl, and if you don’t disturb aunty Marie, I will get you both chocolate bars when I return home tomorrow, okay?”
“Yes, mummy!!” They both chorused as they giggled happily.
I still don’t get why they were so in love with chocolate bars. That was the only way to have them obey everything you have to say without faulting anyone.
I wore my sweater and hung my handbag as I walked them out and locked the door.
I handed the key to Marie as we both hugged each other, kissing each other’s cheeks.
“Stay safe, okay?” She said calmly. “Tell mummy bye bye.” She said as Kanu and Kiana waved me goodbye as I boarded a taxi down to The Eleven.
Rex’s POV.
“Are you set?” Clark snapped as he walked into my room.
I looked at him as I forced a smile.
“You can’t be serious right now. You haven’t even worn your clothes. I had the laundryman arrange it for you. We have to be on our way already, Rex.” He muttered as he looked at me.
I could see the disappointment written all over his face and I couldn’t wait to make it worse, which made me grin.
“I am yet to shower!!” I scoffed as I got up from my bed, dropping the Kubrick’s cube on the bed.
“What!? Seriously!?” He yelped as he groaned bitterly.
“Oh, darn it, Rex!! Do you even want her back into your life?” He scowled disappointedly as he shook his head.
“Just give me half an hour and I will be done. You overfed me earlier today.” I grinned again, and I felt good knowing that I was literally pissing him off right now.
I heard his light growl as he stormed out of the room, followed next by the loud music that played in the sitting room.
I quickly washed myself clean as I stepped out of the bathroom and I wore my boxers and within a few minutes, I got dressed up but in a different, polo.
White just wasn’t my thing. And no matter how I tried my best to really fall in love with white, it just never kicked in the right spot, so I opted for the black knitted polo with black trousers and a black palm that had little fluffy edges.
And most importantly, I sprayed the two different perfumes he had purchased earlier today, giving me a more fulfilling fragrance of masculinity.
I looked at myself in the mirror, feeling proud of myself as I saw my smartwatch and my wavy blonde hair. It just happened to come out perfectly well tonight.
The black knitted polo exposed my muscles and cupped chest, which made me smile as it was all giving off the devilish CEO vibes I have always been obsessed with since my years in high school and college.
I stepped out of my room as I looked at Clark, whose facial expression said it all.
“Woohoo!! Here we go, baby!” He screamed at the top of his voice as he brushed his palms together in excitement.
“Are you being serious right now?” I rolled my eyes as he referred to me as “baby.”
“Oh! About that? I’m sorry about that. You know, watching the Reunion series is really overwhelming. But, what’s your problem with white? You’re meant to look like her angel tonight and not the other way around.” He scowled as he looked at me, furrowing his eyebrows as he looked at my outfit.
“But you still rock it anyway and where did you get that perfume from?” He said, using his nose to sniff the hair. “That’s really some strong masculinity perfume.” He shrugged as he stepped closer.
“Don’t be so annoying, Clark. I only mixed both together to get this.” I snapped as I walked towards the car keyholder.
“Why, that’s you being really creative, I guess your creative juices are beginning to flow already.” He chuckled softly as he looked at me.
“Can you not be annoying right now? You are literally not funny right now either and that’s the worst part of it!!” I snapped as I paused halfway, staring at him as he shut his mouth up.
“Come on, Rex. I am only trying to make you calm down. Tonight should be a special night for you.” He responded.
“A special night for me?” I scoffed as I rolled my eyes. “Tonight is just another night to face her and see how obvious her hatred is for me, Clark.” I sneered as I walked to the keyholder.
“No way, no way!!” He snapped, clearing his throat as he used his werewolf speed to take the car key. “There’s no way I am letting you drive tonight.” He snapped.
“Gentlemanly?” I scowled.
He shuddered. “Okay, okay, you look like some Mr. Tough Alpha guy is going to claim his mate and also, tonight is a full moon night.” He snapped as he looked at me.
I groaned as I remembered tonight was a full moon night.
“How could I have easily forgotten?” I snapped as I shook my head as we stepped out.
