Rex’s POV.
I remained indoors for a week against my wolf’s wish. All I did was pay absolutely no attention to how she was coping or even making an attempt to go find out where she was now working and where exactly it was located.
Clark had informed me about her new role in one of the biggest hotels in New Kingston and I remember lodging there years back before we separated.
I yearned to see my two little adorable pups but then, she made it clear to me, she wanted me away from her and her children and there was absolutely no way I was going back again.
I groaned as I laid on my bed. For a complete week now, I remained indoors and all I did was eat, sleep, shower, do an hour of exercise in my room and play Rubik’s cube. That was more comforting as I had lost interest in watching any movie or even browsing the web.
It was hard staying away but then, I was still trying to heal from the last day we saw.
My head kept replaying the slap and how she pointed at me, strictly warning me to leave her and her children.
And before I fail to mention, for a whole week, I have been lying to my mother that there were some improvements and Clark, he wouldn’t stop nagging all day like a woman.
“Are you seriously going to do this today again, Rex?” Clark walked in with my breakfast.
“Can you not start today again, Clark?” I furrowed my eyebrows, showing no interest in whatever he wanted to say as I got up from my bed.
The confines of my room have been where I was limited to. I never crossed my door for a single day.
“It was just a single slap.” He whined as he dropped the tray on the table. “You did more than that to her, and how do you expect her to react? To jump on your body when you suddenly reappear in her life?” He scowled as he looked at me.
“You waited for five years for this moment, and now you want to sleep on it? You want to let your paranoia ruin your chance of being with the one woman you love, Rex? Or is it still your pride? The sense of being Alpha?” He queried.
I walked down to the table as I opened the plates. It was a great way to start my day. He just knew what exactly I wanted right now, and I wouldn’t lie, I enjoyed Clark’s bacon and pancakes.
I scooped in one of the scrambled eggs which was literally my favorite proteinous food and I just couldn’t wait to have the bacon and pancakes in my mouth also and then, diluting it down with the hot tea.
“Can we not do this now? At least, let me have my breakfast first.” I shrugged as I continued with my breakfast.
He sat opposite me as he kept looking at him. “I get it, Clark. I don’t know how we could possibly get back together if she keeps being cold towards me.” I muttered in defense as I rolled my eyes.
“Here!!” He dropped a piece of paper.
I picked it up as I looked at it, and it was directed to her new workplace, The Eleven.
“I went there yesterday and asked about her. She will be working the night shift today. We’ll have dinner there tonight, so get yourself ready, and you’re not wearing your James Bond’s outfits today. You have to look seductive and hot!” He said as he looked at me.
I kept quiet as I looked at how fast he talked and how he kept a serious face as well. “Why is he even my beta?” I whined exhaustively as he kept on talking.
I still couldn’t see why he was still single after knowing how to be romantic towards ladies and sending them tripping for him.
“I’ve heard you, Clark. Now can you let me have my breakfast in peace?” I scowled as I looked at him.
For the first time in a week, he granted me my peace as requested. I shook my head as I continued with my breakfast and after that I rested for a while before returning to bed.
But then, I wasn’t destined to have an indoor rest today as Clark returned, pulling me from the bed as we went to do some classic, simple shopping in a nearby boutique.
“Trust me, you will love this cologne, and she won’t be able to resist you tonight.” Clark chuckled softly as he threw the cologne inside the trolley. “And this too. Oh! This is my favorite from the Vampire classics.” He said in a drooling manner as he picked up another masculine cologne as he sniffed it.
“It has a strong tobacco and this woody scent, not like the local woods.” He chuckled softly. “I mean rich wood. You know those that are used as incense? Exactly those woody scents.” He muttered as he threw it inside the trolley too.
I kept on following him from behind as he did the shopping.
“Am I actually going to be seducing her?” I shrugged off the thought and quickly trashed away the picture I had in my head. “Definitely no way.” I groaned.
“And yeah, this polo. A simple woven fabric polo. This would show your sexy shape, your cupped chest would be visible in this.” He said as he raised the polo up as he tried picturing me in it. “Yeah, it’s perfecto!!” He grinned as he threw it inside the trolley too.
“Then you need this as well and then, this too!” He said as he picked up two pairs of black palms and also a black trouser.
I had paid off using my black and gold Platinum card as we left the boutique.
And again, I’ve seen those strange eyes from school. The man had a roguish appearance.
“Why was he following me?” I furrowed my eyes and again, he was gone, lost in the crowd.
