EVOLET
It’s a good thing we have the internet to help inform us on the things that are taking place in the Werewolf lands.
If not for Derby who just decided to check her phone, we wouldn’t have seen the allegation Chriselda and Thelma made against us.
Their lies and plans to gather enemies to fish us out, sped up our plan that very day.
I didn’t wait for us to move that night like I had wanted, but that very morning after the announcement Chriselda shared.
The only ones who stayed back were Mom, Scarlet, and Trent. I gave the Alpha and Queen an order to gather their armies and wait for the sign.
We left Mom at Scarlet’s palace to stay safe, while Cadell took Derby and I back to Wolf Fall.
It wasn’t hard to get in now that I remember everything about my past.
I mean, I once ruled this land.
I know most of the spots I usually follow back then. It was easy to sneak into the pack without being seen.
My home was heavily guarded by the guards, and we didn’t want to head over to Derby’s apartment either. It was important to keep eyes from seeing us, most especially me.
So, we stayed hidden in some covered alleys of some buildings, planning our moves.
That’s when we spotted the damsels, who were filled with intense rage over Chriselda’s decision. They were returning home at that hour.
They were the ones who gave us a place to stay hidden without being noticed by anyone else.
Their deep hate for the royal family ignited a strong desire to stand by me, even without knowing how and what really occurred.
They believed I was innocent and didn’t care if I had a connection with the outside creatures.
They found it amazing.
With their help, we orchestrated a plan to get Chriselda’s attention into the open and let the whole pack see what kind of a Queen she was.
And I must say, the plan was a success.
But it will be a complete victory once these two are out of my land and gone for good.
That will be possible when the main target and problem, is eradicated for good. And that’s Thelma.
“I don’t know if you remember this, Elder. Many years ago, two nights before the war…” I kept my eyes on Thelma, who was staring at me with those deep dark yellow eyes flashing at me.
“I had a private meeting with you, asking about your take on this old woman. It was just us with no one around, not Cadell, not even Chriselda. Do you remember?” I questioned the eldest of them, taking a glance at him before looking back at the sorceress.
The elder, who had seen enough proof to show I was indeed their true Queen, responded, “Indeed you’re right Evo… I mean Luna. You had asked me that question.”
“And your response was we should just watch and see if she’s worth living in the pack, isn’t that right?”
“Yes, you’re correct!”
“And what did I say after that? I’m sure you remember my words.” I glanced at Christy and Fiona. The so-called Queen was trembling like she had just seen a ghost, while her perfect future daughter in-law was still shocked from almost getting killed by Cadell.
“I haven’t forgotten, Luna. You said… You said you are not comfortable with the sorceress being in the land. Then you decided to monitor her for just a week.”
“Good, I’m glad you remember everything,” I said, smiling at the old man.
“Now do you understand why I wasn’t fine with a strange sorceress like her stepping anywhere near my home? Well, the battle that took place is the answer.”
The old man had his hand placed on his chest, giving Chriselda and Thelma a nasty look.
To show how raged they were with her, the elderly wolves immediately drew away from Chriselda, ending any form of respect they had for her.
When Christy saw this, her eyes popped with her hands trembling. Her entire work of deceit has finally crumbled down before her very eyes.
“I’m… I’m your Queen! I GAVE YOU ALL A NEW LIFE!!”
“Enough of your insanity!” I sparked in disgust on hearing Chriselda utter such words from her mouth.
“You have no right or control over my people anymore. Neither you nor Thelma!” I thundered loudly, getting mad.
Suddenly, Thelma began to laugh from her spot, grinning at me maniacally. With confidence, she said, tilting her head to the side, “What a twist indeed. And here I thought you were just a vessel carrying the spirit wolf, without knowing you were indeed the spirit wolf herself. My precious Violet.”
From her voice, I could tell she was up to something. Even Cadell sensed it as well, and kept me closer to himself.
That’s when Thelma said, getting all serious, “But don’t worry… History will surely repeat itself tonight”
What a devil! She’s no longer hiding her true form to the people.
“This time, we’ll make sure you never get another chance to be reborn. Only the victor will have a right to rule every kingdom, and that will be Chriselda!”
She spoke out, exalting Christy like she’s the Goddess.
But I know she’s only using Chriselda for her own benefit. She wants to be powerful.
“As long as my hands will fall on you, I don’t care if the entire people of Wolf Fall perish in the process. They mean nothing to us from now on,” She said out with delight, laughing out loudly.
Her words had gotten the people frightened. They had to start fleeing away out of fear of the sorceress.
That plan, I won’t allow.
“I hate this woman with all of my heart. She will regret ever stealing your pack!” Scarlet groaned, charging at Thelma.
Before she could get closer to the sorceress and deliver an attack, something speedily caught mine and Cadell’s attention from behind Thelma in the dark!
“SCARLET!” I yelled, quickly using my power to pull her back!
The moment I did that, three mighty mutated Werewolves came pouncing in our front, shielding the sorceress!
“Heavens! What are those things?!” Derby yelled out, standing next to Cadell and I, with Trent at her side.
Looking at these deformed creatures, I realized Thelma has been working very hard before we showed up.
“Are these guards?” Trent noticed through the pieces of their clothing.
He wasn’t wrong. That’s the same attire worn by the guards.
I could even feel the energy of another trapped being inside those repulsive bodies.
To our surprise, the other guards who were around, suddenly went through a painful transformation, shifting into different kind of deformed werewolves!
They looked pained but had no control of their senses.
These abominations are more advanced that the last creatures she mutated with her spells. She has been working out seriously in the secret!
“This woman!” Scarlet groaned angrily.
Thelma smirked at me and carefully got off the tree to meet Chriselda and Fiona. Those two ran to her like she was their mother, standing beside her for protection.
“Oh, don’t worry Luna. We aren’t going anywhere. We are right here by your side,” Thelma said, chuckling out.
Then with a wave of her hand, the mutated Werewolf guards attacked!
Scarlet, Trent, and Derby, swung into battle, fighting the werewolves.
I wanted to end this with just a swift release of my power, but Cadell immediately grabbed me close and said, knocking out two of the creatures that came near, “Not around her. Thelma has planned something against you. Just look at her eyes.”
That was no lie. For her to say she’ll stand around, means she has already made this plan just in case her first attempt failed.
The mind of this woman. What is she going to use this time?
“Don’t worry. I’m here,” Cadell assured me of his protection, keeping me close.
As the others were fighting and I was keeping a distance away from the creatures, I suddenly noticed that Thelma was missing from the trio where they stood!
Then in no time, both Fiona and Chriselda were gone!
It was there that their plan became obvious to me. They are using the fight to look for an entry.
“Cadell, they are on the move,” I alerted him, taking my position behind him.
He gave one of the creatures a stump and said, sniffing the air, “I can pick their scents, but it’s drifting away from us.”
Even though their aura wasn’t around or that close, I still didn’t turn a blind eye to my surrounding.
That was until I heard the cries of my people echoing around, like they were in serious danger.
I turned over to see what was happening, only to spot more of these deformed beings trooping into the pack from different directions, destroying whatever was in their way!
They really want to destroy Wolf Fall!
How many guards did she infest with her charm?!
“The numbers are increasing!” Trent alerted when he saw more of the beings chasing the people while bringing down their homes.
That’s when I came up with a plan, which will require all hands on ground for this.
The moment Scarlet, Trent, and Derby created a distance between us and the beings they were attacking, I immediately made a swift move and evicted the dark energy planted in them by Thelma. And when I did this, Cadell swiftly covered me with his darkness, neutralizing the dust from flowing into any other person.
“I knew you would follow,” I chuckled at my pervy wolf, patting him on the face.
He gave me a smile, and turned to look at the guards we just helped. They looked so petrified and confused.
Three among them weren’t from Wolf Fall. This made me realize how far Thelma had spread her dust and the number who were affected by it.
“Inviting an entire army to war was just an excuse to deform and create extra large monsters to get to us,” I pointed out, looking into the direction where the other beings had rushed into.
Then I said, sharing the plan with them, “Scarlet, I want you to send a signal to the armies. The wolves both vampires and werecats are facing, are mutated. They must have shifted and are battling with the soldiers. We need to gather every deformed wolf at a spot to evict the dark energy in them.”
“As you wish, Luna.” Without hesitating, she sprang her wings out and flew into the air, letting out a loud disturbing cry which echoed around the pack and into the forest.
I know if the Werecats hear that sound and see the vampires moving, they will understand and take their move as well.
As soon as Scarlet did this, those werewolves who had stepped into the pack to destroy the land, came out to trace the cry.
When they saw us, they came charging at our point.
“We move together,” I said to my friends, dashing right at the beasts.
They swiftly understood the formation I was aiming at and did what I expected from them.
If they made an attack, I’d use my powers to clear the energy from the wolves body, and Cadell finalized it all with the aura he released around.
We made this move, spreading into the pack to stop these beings from wrecking any more homes or innocent lives.
And wherever we moved in to save the people of Wolf Fall, the pack members would gaze back at us in admiration and joy in their eyes.
I saw this when Scarlet, Trent, and Cadell swept into action by protecting some of them from being pounced on by the enemies.
The gratefulness was all over them. They couldn’t hide it.
They are finally seeing the power and importance of having other creatures by your side to form one strong alliance.
Something they have been deprived off for years by those two.
“We have more on our tail,” Derby pointed out to the deformed wolves coming out from more areas in the pack.
Now that we finally got their attention, it was time to get them together with the others at the forest.
We made a change with our movement and began to head for the woods, leading the other beings out of Wolf Fall.
As we dived into the forest, the energy of the other affected armies could be felt getting nearer and faster.
The Vampires and Werecat are carrying out the assignment.
Directing the others into the road that leads to the planned spot, Cadell and I picked the negative energy of Thelma right in front of our pathway, in form of a trap!
Within seconds, the woods ahead came alive and blocked the road leading out of the opening.
Seeing this, I pulled out my hand to wither the trees away, only for me to detect movement from above, coming down at me with speed!
“Evolet!” Derby yelled, getting set to create a shield and cover me. But she didn’t bother any more when Cadell stepped in.
The familiar scent from this person made me lift my eyes up to find my attacker held from the neck by Cadell, in a tight choke lock.
It was Fiona.
She was struggling to set herself free and immediately threw her sword down to fight with Cadell.
My eyes fell on her weapon, and I saw it coated with the same substance Chriselda had used on me in the past.
Fiona wants to repeat that same story by ending Evolet’s life herself.
“That throne doesn’t belong to you,” She choked out, still hitting Cadell to let her go.
“I am the one to rule next after Chriselda. I don’t… I don’t care if you are Luna Violet or Eve! I… I am the… next Queen!” Fiona yelled, glaring into my eyes with deep envy.
Her eyes were no different from Chriselda.
Violet took Chriselda as a sister, and Evolet almost made that mistake again by accepting Fiona as her family.
It was too late for Violet to take note of the real enemies, but Evolet was given that grace to tell who is who.
The more I think of this, the more my blood boils out with rage for them.
Backstabbers! That’s who they are!
“Evolet, we have to move!” Cadell said when he saw the mutated wolves coming.
Instead of doing that, I gave in to my rage and ended up changing my plan.
I turned around to face the beings that were coming. With just a raise of my palm, “Cease,” I released my powers at them and they immediately fell to the ground, shifting back to normal.
Cadell, despite the situation, didn’t hold himself back from cleansing the area immediately.
The only thing he didn’t see coming was my next move. I pulled Fiona out from his grip and slammed her right into a tree with force.
Her eyes popped out in horror when she felt the impact from the back. When she received two more toss and slam with speed, she gave out a strong cough, spitting out blood.
Fear gripped Fiona immediately. She lifted her gaze into my eyes and saw something she had never seen in her life before.
That sparked fear into Fiona immediately.
“Evolet, wait!”
Ignoring her, I lifted my hand to place them on her head, and that’s when the trees under Thelma’s control began to move.
Their branches swiftly pulled Fiona right into the woods, keeping her away from me.
Immediately that happened, I withered all the trees and plants in that spot, revealing Fiona’s presence. She was running further into another route, trying to get away from me.
“Trent,” I called my Alpha Cat, turning to face him. “Take Scarlet and Derby to the spot straight into that direction. They are almost here,” I said, looking into the sky to see a vampires flying and hovering above us.
“Scarlet and her men will create a barrier to keep them from getting into the pack or escaping. You and the Werecats can keep them busy from bringing the force down.”
“Okay, but what about… Fine, I’ll do as you’ve said,” He accepted, staring at me worriedly.
Scarlet and Derby had the same expression like Trent. But understanding how important this was for me, they all agreed like a team, promising to handle the job.
“Tear a piece of their flesh with our names on it,” Trent said with a smirk, leading Scarlet and Derby off to the ground.
Only Cadell and I stayed back, taking the route Fiona had fled into.
“They are close,” Cadell said, walking side by side with me.
I hummed at his words, thinking of all the things those three had done. It was increasing my rage and bitterness.
To ease this fire from exploding quickly, I took Cadell’s hand in mine and said, clinging closer to him to calm my spirit, “They all said the darkness is attracted to his light, but they didn’t realize that the light is the one who needs the darkness to dig deeper into herself and growth.”
I turned to face Cadell and found him staring at me.
Feeling that calmness I was looking for, I said, “I have learnt a lot of things from you, Cadell. Your love and devotion to me for years is beyond measurement.”
He smiled, running a gentle caress across my face.
I felt much better on feeling his touch. It always makes me whole.
“No matter the situation, never ever leave my side. Always take me with you, my love.”
“As you wish, your majesty,” He vowed, planting a kiss on my hand.
I smiled and said, looking into the path which released more energy from those three, “Once this is over, remind me to give you a gift.”
“A gift? Oh, I have one planned for you already,” He laughed, tightening his grip around my hand.
My heart bloomed when I felt it.
I will never let this man out of my sight.
