QUEEN CHRISELDA
“Yes, those videos were taken by my friends and I. It wasn’t created for any bad intention against the werewolves or Wolf Fall. It was directly fixed at exposing the lies and deceit we’ve all been living in for years,” Evolet spoke confidently, directing her words to me.
“Am I a spy for the Vampires, Werecats, or even the Rogue? No. Do I have any connection or relationship with them?” Well… Yes,” She openly confessed without any fear, surprising the pack.
“I have a deep relationship with them, and they are more than just my friends… but my family.”
“You see!” I immediately voiced out, laughing out mockingly at Evolet.
“I told you she is working hand in hand with the enemies! What other deceitful words are you looking for from this girl?!” I questioned the elders.
They didn’t know how to respond to this matter. It’s as if they were confused on which side to stand on. And from what I’m seeing, I think they are trying to consider the fact that Eve called those beasts her family, portraying them in a different way.
No, I can’t allow it.
“You have heard it from her. She is a traitor. Guards, arrest…”
“Not so fast, your majesty,” Evolet interrupted, giving me the palm.
With a cunning smile spreading across her face, she said, “We aren’t done here. Why are you rushing?”
She giggled.
“Everyone needs to know why I posted those videos of your perverted son, your slut of a future daughter in-law… and most especially of you, the most deceitful criminal to ever live.”
“How dare you?!” I roared out in anger, using the sudden fright that took over me.
“You called me a deceitful criminal?”
“Oh, you are the ultimate, Christy! You have deceived the whole people of Wolf Fall and the werewolves with the false story you and that witch of a sorceress crafted many years ago! You are the real traitor here!” She fired back loudly, increasing the tension.
Her accusation sounded so strong that it got everyone talking about the video of me in Violet’s room, exposing my crime.
That gave the elders a chance they have been longing for. “Child, what prove do you have against the Queen?’
“Enough to bust the ear drums of anyone who still thinks this woman is the savior of every werewolf,” Evolet said, glaring at me with intense hate.
The atmosphere was too hot for me to stay in. I felt like digging myself out of my skin and fleeing away.
I couldn’t even leave now that the matter of my crime has been opened again. They will immediately see it as my defeat.
“The story of Queen Chriselda and Sorceress Thelma fighting other creatures to save us all was nothing but a sham. None of that ever happened. It was all a lie to fabricate the real truth about Luna Violet’s death!”
“She was never killed by the other creatures. They are the real murderer!” She pointed at me, causing every eyes to fall at my point in horror.
“That’s a lie! This girl is telling you what those beast wants you to think! They’re trying to take my throne!”
“A throne that never belonged to you, of course. You fed everyone, even the younger generation, false tales about how you fought along side the Queen, when in reality you never did,” She said, suddenly drifting into… sadness?
Her eyes had tears welling within. I was surprised to see this girl crying about the past.
Why?
“Tell me, what crime did Violet commit in taking you into her home as her sister? When you had nothing and no one to shower you with love, she ignored your flaws and made you her family.”
Hearing this, my memory suddenly jolted to the past when I was a complete nobody. The only one who saw me as a friend and sister was Violet.
She changed my life for the better. She gave me a name.
“Despite all the love and care… What did you give to her in return?” She questioned, switching from sadness to bitterness.
“You went behind her back and joined hands with that old witch to steal the power she possessed.”
Again, my body quivered at Evolet’s deep exposition of my past act. There’s no way she can know all these things unless… “Cadell!” I growled, looking right at the dog beside her.
He’s the main problem here!
He told this girl about my doings to get his revenge on me!
“Steal her powers?” The elders picked that and turned to face me. “What does she mean by that, Chriselda?”
“That’s the same question I was about to ask this liar,” I defended myself, trying to stand strong.
But Evolet… This girl was ready for me!
“Enough of the deceit, Christy! Tell everyone the truth. Tell them how you and Thelma led Luna Violet into your trap so you could end her and take the spirit wolf!”
“I did no such thing! Violet and I were fighting the enemies! I ended the battle!”
“The same battle you and Thelma started? The same battle you orchestrated to cause a division among every creatures for your own selfish needs?! Is that the same battle you claimed to have fought to help my people?!” She roared with intense fire, taking a step forward, which forced me to stagger back in fear.
This girl… Her aura is just like…
“I gave you everything you wanted, Christy. Yet… Yet…” A drop of tears dripped out from her right eye. And that’s when I realized who exactly I was talking to.
“Vio… Violet?” I muffled in terror, staring right at Evolet!
The expression, the… the… Oh Goddess!
“You stabbed me in the back with a sword and tried to use my life to make yourself powerful. You claimed I’m working against the pack when you and that hag tried to kill me! You ruined the bond I created among every creatures due to your greed and love for power. And worst… you even went ahead to make the man I love… a rogue in the eyes of my people.”
This looked like a horror nightmare made into reality to haunt me. I didn’t want to believe it but this is no doubt Violet!
She’s back!
“I will not forgive you for this, Chriselda. You and Thelma will pay dearly for robbing me and every creatures you wronged,” Evolet vowed, flashing a swift shimmer of her wolf eyes!
At the sight of her purple lens, I staggered back in horror, almost falling into the arms of a guard.
“This can’t be. Violet is dead. The spirit wolf is just a form of her power. That’s what Thelma said!” I mumbled shakily, still bewildered by this terrifying discovery.
Evolet can’t be Violet.
No, she can’t!
Her words had caused a lot of damage to my image and reputation within minutes. She has left everyone questioning the truth I sang to them for years.
“Is this true?”
“I don’t understand what is happening.”
“She killed Luna Violet?”
“Unbeliveable!”
Everyone was gazing at me with questions whispering from every corner.
“A murderer. She lied to us!”
“The other creatures never did anything to our late Queen. She and that old sorceress are responsible!”
“She attempted to murder Evolet!”
“I can’t believe this.”
This was becoming hard to take in. I needed to stop these words about me from escalating any further.
No one outside Wolf Fall must hear this.
They’ll see me as a liar and deceiver!
“Evolet,” One of the elders called after glancing at me then at her. “We… I don’t know how to put this. You spoke in a strange way like you’re… you’re referring to yourself as…”
“Luna Violet?” She completed, levitating her right brow at them.
The dominance in her voice made it hard for them to speak. They looked perplexed and shaken just like me.
“I know it’s hard for you all to take in, but the only person who can confirm my words is the same person your Queen declared a Rogue for years. And that is Cadell.”
“Cadell?” The Elders chorused, looking amazed like they were just woken up from a deep sleep.
“Did you say Cadell?”
“I thought I heard her mention that name the first time. Now I know I’m not hearing things. She mentioned Cadell!”
“Wait, isn’t that the Dark Blood who was with Luna Violet?”
“The Demon wolf? We thought he disappeared?”
“No, he didn’t,” Evolet replied, going on her knees to pet that devilish beast next to her.
“He never left Wolf Fall nor did he leave the light behind. He stayed and deprived himself any freedom, just to protect and hide the true Queen of Wolf Fall. A crime he was haunted for by your so-called Savior, who labeled him a Rogue.”
They both turned to look at me at the same time.
“Wolf Fall’s Luna didn’t die during that war. I was reborn into the girl you all know today as Evolet. I am Luna Violet,” She revealed, amazing all with her words.
It was hard for anyone to believe, but with all the signs Evolet has portrayed for long, they were drawing to her side!
I gulped down hard, shakily turning to a guard next to me, ordering him in a whisper, “Get the sorceress now.”
“Is this true, Chriselda?!” The Elders roar startled me.
I turned over to face them and met their burning gaze fixed at my direction.
In fact, it was everyone’s anger that was choking me now.
“Did you know all along? The Rogue… You knew he was Cadell, didn’t you?!”
“I… Cadell and the Rogue…” I stammered, finding it hard to make a word.
“Come to think of it, we all forgot about him.”
“The same Dark Blood you and Thelma said vanished after Luna Violet’s death. He never left us like you said. He was here.”
“That’s true. It’s like the mention of his name suddenly brought back a lost memory of the Dark Blood!”
“You’re right. In fact, we never spoke about him to our children after that war. How… how come?” The elders wondered, suspecting a foul play being pulled on them.
Indeed Thelma and I did something to make everyone forget who Cadell was. They only recognized him as a Rogue who works with the enemies.
No one remembered him as the Wolf adored by Violet, until now.
“The lies and deceit… I told you the interesting part was coming. Who’s the backstabber now, Christy?” Evolet questioned, smirking at me.
Cold chills ran down my spine. I could no longer feel my legs anymore.
I hovered my eyes around and saw how everyone, mostly the elderly wolves of the pack, came to the realization of the big truth that has been kept away from them.
Cadell’s whereabout… Violet’s death…
I’m doomed!
I’m Doomed!!
“This is rubbish!” Fiona sparked out suddenly, glaring at the elders.
“This girl is claiming to be the late Luna and you all are falling for her lies? Are you blind?!”
“Watch your mouth!”
As Fiona was arguing on this, my fear was immediately diluted when I saw Thelma hiding in a tree behind the crowds!
“Finally! She must have picked Evolet’s scent,” I rejoiced from within, getting my confidence back.
“She is nothing like the late Luna! All her tales are nothing but false stories to deceive you. Is it because she has a pet dog as her wolf? Fine! I’ll prove to you that she’s a fake!”
In desperation, Fiona pulled the sword of a guard and charged at Cadell!
“Fiona, what are you doing?!” I yelled, attempting to stop her!
But the moment she swooshed her blade at him, the pet Wolf swiftly shifted into a mighty beast of darkness, and broke the sword with his teeth!
When Fiona saw this, she screamed in horror and fell back, shouting, “DEMON! DEMON!!”
She crawled to my point in fear, not knowing that her action has opened the eyes of the people wider than ever.
“You’re lucky that your head wasn’t in place of the sword,” Cadell said with a groan, shifting into his real human form.
The white hair and silver eyes… Now there’s no room for any more doubt.
“Cadell?!”
“It’s really him!” The Elders and elderly wolves of the pack gasped out in shock.
They recognized him in his same undying youth that had no wrinkle or strain.
This gave Evolet a higher stand against me.
She boldly said to the elders while leaning against the Dark Blood, “Say Hello to your Rogue.”
“It feels good to be in this form without hiding in the dark,” Cadell chuckled, flashing those devilish silver eyes at me.
Well they don’t know what is coming for them any time from…
“I have said this before in the past and I’ll say it again,” Evolet suddenly cut in through my thoughts, getting serious.
“I will not allow your devilish presence in my PACK!”
Before everyone’s eyes, she unleashed her power in form of a purple flame and launched it at the exact tree Thelma was hiding!
The moment this flame touch the bark, the large shrub came withering within seconds!
Thelma, who was hiding, came jumping out from the tree to save herself from being withered!
She hasn’t even landed properly on the ground when a strange red aura came from nowhere and almost had her trapped.
Quickly, she spotted it and maneuvered her way out of this trap, landing perfectly on the branch of another tree.
That’s when the one responsible for the attack, came out from her hiding spot among the crowds, saying, “You will do no such thing to the Luna.”
“Wait, that’s the Vampire Queen!” I recognized her face straight away!
She wasn’t alone.
At the other side came forth Derby, Evolet’s friend, and the Alpha Werecat!
“The pack is on guard,” The Alpha Cat said confidently, revealing the unity of their plan!
I wasn’t expecting this formation!
I thought Evolet or Violet only had the Werecats on her side?!
When did she get both Vampires and Werecats to side with her?!
