Time – 6:15 am
Kane woke up before the rest, having set an inner alarm to be awake at a certain time around sixa. m. Dusting himself off the rich soil he had slept in last night, he mentally imagined himself clean and clothed, humming in approval when he felt the comfortability of the green cotton polo and denim jeans.
He had chosen well. He thought, strolling out of the room to wake up the others. This was the day he claimed his life mate. He first woke up Julius and Yodah, strongly ensuing a command, more like a compulsion to awake them.
Yodah grumbled, obviously unhappy that his sleep had been tampered with. “Uncle, you couldn’t wait an hour more? I don’t think the hotel would…”
But Kane was having none of it. He waved his nephew off, whilst stretching his hand toward him. “Get up. You should know how this is important to me. I don’t find this lackadaisical attitude of yours entertaining.”
Yodah shrugged, his head bent low after he had taken Kane’s hand and gotten out of the grave-like structure. He had been enjoying his sleep so much, for even though he and Freya had coped well with adjusting with human sleeping times, nothing still beats the warmth of rich black soil of their people. He was going to thank Aiden again for somehow smuggling the soil into a region close to the wolves territory.
“You shouldn’t be too hard on him, knowing he doesn’t really understand since he still sees colors. You should be the understanding one.” Juluis said, defending Yodah who smiled at him, a smile which was cut short when he saw the bout of glares that Kane was throwing between him and Julius.
“I see you two are bonding very well. That’s great. But help me wake up the others. We don’t have much time to lose. If she is a smart witch, she would be plotting her next move already. At least, that’s what I would do if I were in her shoes.” Kane said , before walking off in the direction where he knew his twin and his lifemate were sleeping, leaving Aiden and Freya in the hands of Yodah and Julius.
“Kane… is it morning already?” Dobah queried, looking over to his lifemate who was sleeping beside him. He rubbed her belly fondly, a smile slithering across his lips.
“Yes. We could leave Blenda here. She needs adequate rest after all for the baby.” Kane advised, taking his lips in when he saw Blenda’s eyes split open at his suggestion. Next stop, she was glaring at him.
“No, I am okay. I wouldn’t miss the chance of seeing your woman first hand. I want to see the woman whom the gods had decided will tame you.” she spoke, chuckling the next minute when Kane snorted and looked away, whilst her life mate wished cleanliness and clothes upon their bodies.
“I doubt that. It will be her that need to conform to our ways. I am in …” he was saying when Freya spoke from behind him.
“I don’t think that would be a good idea, uncle. We are not in ancient times. My gender nowadays has their own will. We are not exactly the same picture of women in your young times. We have our own choices to make. And if you want your life mate to come to you without much bustle on your side, then you will have to be the one to adapt first. She will follow suit naturally.”
“I would take her advice if I were you.” Aiden supported.
“Speaking from first hand experience then.” Yodah mentioned, whilst Julius smiled knowingly. Of course, Freya had calmed the high and mighty horses of Aiden, and he was sure that he wouldn’t be far behind when he fully integrated Ava as his life mate. God! He missed her so much. He had planned on seeing her today, in the evening. They already had a plan formed for that. He couldn’t wait. But first, they had to locate Lucille, the girl who Kane believed has a canny resemblance to Emma and Freya.
Kane grunted, before turning around and leaving the room.
“Don’t worry, he will loosen up soon.” Blenda said, before standing up straight, with the help of Dobah.
“We are good to go then?” Dobah asked, and the all nodded, walking out of the room in a straight line.

“Are you all set?” Ketura asked Tempest, who had just flung a backpack across her shoulders. “Do you have the cash and the card?”
“Yes, mother Ketura.” Tempest answered sarcastically. “Quit worrying about me. I am sure that you have asked me a hundred questions this morning alone. I hope you wouldn’t do the same over the phone. I need utmost discretion and concentration whilst doing this.” She added as she wore a brown watch over her wrist.
“Well, you can’t blame me. This is your first time stepping to the outside world since three years ago.. I have cause to worry. I can’t let anything to go wrong. Not now that we are so close to victory…or well, to an extent.” Ketura stated, falling to the couch.
“Well, that’s true, but I can take care of myself. Now, look at me.” Tempest demanded, gesturing to her face. “If you were my sister, would you be able to recognise me?” She asked Ketura, touching the blonde wig she was wearing.
“Not at all. You look like a different person. But we know that your sister is smart.” Ketura replied.
“Yes, that’s true, but I am smarter. Don’t forget that. Besides, I need to do this. And yes, I might be taking a detour to the hotel.” Tempest said, smiling when she saw Keturah’s mouth fall agape.
“No way!” Ketura shouted, getting up from the couch. “This was the reason why I didn’t want to tell you about her. I am not sure if it is even her. You can’t risk your identity going there. What if…I don’t know, one of Leonarya’s spies spot you? What will you do then? Everything we would be planning would be in ruin!”
“Oh, my dear Ketura, you worry a lot. You seem to forget that I am wearing a wig and more facials now.” Tempest said calmly. “Be rest assured that I wouldn’t be spotted by Leonarya’s minions.
