“It’s okay. You have a lifetime to watch it.”
Johnny gave in completely!
It was just property, after all. He didn’t care much about those cars and houses.
“Johnny, can you stop messing around?” Tilda realized he might be serious and quickly said, “We’re not suitable for each other!”
“And you think you’re suitable with that guy?”
“How can Howard and I possibly work things out after you beat him up?” Howard had definitely blocked her number by now.
She had no idea how to explain this to her parents. The situation was a complete mess! Tilda absolutely hated Johnny’s personality-acting on impulse, hot-tempered, and never considering the consequences or how others might feel!
In that regard, Johnny was nowhere near as mature as Ulric.
“Whether it works out or not, you’re mine now,” Johnny said, sitting back on the couch, a smirk playing on his lips as he watched her. “Tomorrow, you’ll meet my parents, we’ll sort out the transfer of my assets, and after I finish the meeting at the company, I’ll come pick you up.”
“I’m not going. I don’t want it.”
“You don’t have a choice! Tilda, you’re an adult. You have to keep your word, right?”
Tilda glared at him. “And you said you didn’t even like me!”
Johnny paused for a moment.
“Anyway, I’m telling you, even if you transfer your assets to me, I won’t marry you. I only said that to get rid of you! Let me go. I really need to go check on Howard at the hospital. Otherwise, how will my parents face his parents in the future?”
She truly regretted dragging Howard into this!
For him, it was nothing but an undeserved disaster.
“Well, I’m telling you, once you said those words, I took them seriously,” Johnny said, crossing his legs and swinging his foot, exuding a roguish charm. “What do your parents like? I’ve never met my girlfriend’s parents before. I have no experience.”
“What?!” Tilda frowned. “Are you planning to meet my parents?”
“We can’t get married without meeting each other’s parents, can we?” Johnny raised an eyebrow. “Or, are you thinking of keeping it from your parents? Not a chance! What if your parents don’t know you’re already mine and set you up on blind dates?”
He wasn’t about to be some woman’s kept man!
“Johnny!”
“Do you want to sleep in the master bedroom with me, or the guest room? Choose,” he said, pointing to the two rooms nearby, ignoring her protests.
“I want to leave! Can’t you understand that?”
“And I’m not letting you leave. Can’t you understand that?”
Tilda rolled her eyes, gritting her teeth. “I’ll sleep in the guest room!”
“Okay, goodnight, then. Sleep well! My parents will be here in the morning.”
Tilda thought there was a good chance Johnny was just joking. She couldn’t believe that someone like him-a playboy-could suddenly fall for her and be willing to hand over all his assets just to marry her.
But when she woke up the next morning and saw Johnny’s parents sitting in the living room waiting for her, she was convinced.
“Tilda!” Mrs. Chow waved warmly at her. “You’re awake! Johnny’s father and I came a bit early. I hope we didn’t disturb your rest!”
Tilda was completely stunned.
Mrs. Chow smiled at her and walked over. “Johnny’s gone to the company. Before he left, he told us to take you to complete the asset transfer once you’re ready! His father and I discussed it, and there are some assets under Johnny’s name that can’t be transferred directly, so we’ve decided to convert them into cash and wire them into your account. How does that sound?”
