Finally, I was released from the hospital Wednesday morning. I know Dr. Adams was erring on the side of caution but come on. I had to go home and prepare for the ceremony tonight in addition to other things. We had a lot of people coming in to witness the ceremony tonight. Both Alpha Kings were going to be in attendance tonight due to the magnitude of the ceremony itself.
To say I was nervous about it was an understatement. Since the threat of Doyle Kessler loomed over our heads, we are having to livestream the ceremony on our pack social media link. There was a lot of moving parts in this ceremony preparation to which I was not allowed to do anything but get ready and participate. Okay, whatever.
The morning seemed to drag by because I was left to my own devices. I was told I could not go to my home office and work on ‘work stuff’ even though I hadn’t performed my job two days straight due to the migraine. I was behind in my work. But my afternoon was looking up when Princess Sophia came to my house to say ‘hello.’
“I just wanted to come by and see how you were feeling. I heard that you got another migraine. I also heard the good news that you’re pregnant. Congratulations!” gushed Princess Sophia.
“Thank you, Princess Sophia. I am feeling better. I’m nervous about tonight. I didn’t realize that so many people were watching and waiting for me to take my Oath tonight. It’s a little nerve wracking if you know what I mean,” I shared with her as we chatted in the living room.
“I get it. I do. Just wait until I take the throne from Daddy in another six months. I’ll be the first Queen in almost forty years in Europe and my mate will be the King consort. No pressure on us, huh?” mused Princess Sophia.
“I know right?” I chuckled. She and I have always been able to talk about the expectations that have been placed upon us. We knew from an early age what we were expected to do. I think that’s another reason why we’re so close. We can talk about almost anything and be brutally honest with each other.
“Hey, who’s helping you with your hair and make-up?” asked Princess Sophia as the afternoon waned on.
“I know Rebecca is coming over soon and my Mom wanted to help as well,” I answered her.
“I just wanted to make sure you had someone coming over to help you. Daddy says I can stay with you until an hour before the ceremony. When it’s my turn, you’re going to come to my ceremony, right?” asked Princess Sophia.
“Yes, I’ll be there. After all, we’ve been planning this for how long? I wouldn’t miss it,” I exclaimed as we hugged each other.
Just then, Rebecca and Mom came into the house announcing it was time to start getting ready for the ceremony. We all went upstairs to my bedroom where I was told to take a shower and wash my hair. I was told to come out in a robe with my hair wrapped in a towel Turbin style. Okay.
After the shower, it was a whirlwind of activity. Rebecca and Sophia started with my hair. Mom went down to the kitchen and made something for us to eat. I’m sitting in a chair with Rebecca and Sophia working their magic with my hair. Thirty-five minutes later, my hair was half up and half down in a flurry of braids. The part that was up was pulled up in a French twist with the braids flowing down effortlessly. It was absolutely beautiful. I would never have been able to fix my hair like that ever.
Next came the make-up. Before we started on it, Mom called up that we needed to eat. I was afraid to move and ruin my hairdo. After we ate, I brushed my teeth and sat down once again in the chair to have them perform their magic on me.
Rebecca and Princess Sophia began applying my make-up. I don’t like a lot of make-up because I like the natural look. However, for occasions such as this, one does have to wear a little more than usual. It didn’t take them very long to make me look beautiful. All I had to do was put my gown on.
I insisted that Rebecca and Mom start getting ready for the ceremony as well. Princess Sophia had to leave per her father’s instructions. Anthony was with Dad and Daniel at our parents house. I would not see him until just before the ceremony.
I insisted on helping Rebecca and Mom with their hair and make-up since I was helped with mine. It didn’t take us very long until we were once again done with hair and make-up. All we had to do was put our dresses on. It was finally time to put the dress on. I was in awe of my dress.
My dress was an Aquamarine Bowknot One-Shoulder Embroidered Split Gown. It was simply stunning. The chic one-shoulder design, adorned with a charming bowknot, exuded sophistication and femininity. Delicate embroidered florets on mesh created a mesmerizing garden-inspired motif, while exquisite pleat detailing adds texture and dimension to this enchanting piece. I was in awe of the gown.
I was told it was time to go to the pack house for the ceremony. Anderson made sure everything was secure and I was escorted to the awaiting vehicle. We arrived in less than five minutes. I was promptly taken to the room where the ceremony was being held.
We were told to take our places, so we did. Anthony told me through our link that I looked ‘absolutely beautiful.’ I was blown away with how handsome he looked in his suit and I told him as much.
Alpha Richard began the Ceremony,
“Brookwood Pack, this evening we are gathered together for a very special and momentous event. We are welcoming our new Delta pair tonight. Delta Troy and Delta Heir Melanie please step forward,” commanded Alpha Richard.
We both stepped toward Alpha Richard and the altar that had been erected for the ceremony.
“Delta Melanie Marie Miller, do you take the Oath of Delta of your own free will?” asked Alpha Richard.
“Yes, I do,” I stated.
“Will you follow all commands given to you by your Alpha in accordance with the By Laws of the Brookwood Pack?” asked Alpha Richard.
“Yes, I will,” I stated.
“Will you do your best to protect and defend the Brookwood Pack against all enemies both foreign and domestic to the best of your ability including your life if necessary?” asked Alpha Richard.
“Yes, I will do to the best of my ability,” I answered him.
“Now comes the transfer of power. Delta Troy, take the knife and cut your palm. Then, pass the knife over to Melanie so she can do the same. Now, place your palms together so the transfer of power from Delta Troy to Delta Melanie is complete,” commanded Alpha Richard.
Dad placed his palm upright so all I had to do wass put my hand on top of his hand. I felt the surge of power the moment my hand touched his hand. The look of pride on my father’s face was unmistakable. He was so proud of me for taking the position from him.
“The Transfer of Power is now complete,” announced Alpha Richard. “Welcome Delta Melanie!” Dad tipped his head back in a howl after Alpha Richard announced my title.
After the howling stopped. Alpha Richard commanded, “Delta Louise and Anthony step forward. Delta Louise, you will cut your palm with the knife and then pass it over to Anthony to do the same. Then, you will place your hand in her hand,” commanded Alpha Richard.
“Delta Anthony Michael Harrison, do you take this oath of your own free will?” asked Alpha Richard.
“Yes, I do,” Anthony answered him.
“As Delta Male, will you follow all commands given to you by your Alpha in accordance with the By Laws of the Brookwood Pack?” asked Alpha Richard.
“Yes, I will,” he answered him.
“As Delta Male, will you do your best to protect and defend the Brookwood Pack against all enemies both foreign and domestic to the best of your ability including your life if necessary?” asked Alpha Richard
“Yes, I will do to the best of my ability,” he answered him.
After he answered him, my father once again tipped his head back and howled into the air announcing the new Delta Male into the pack.
“Congratulations to our New Delta Pair-Delta Melanie and Delta Anthony,” announced Alpha Richard to the Brookwood Pack on the livestream. “We would usually hold a banquet in honor of her ceremony, but we will not do so at this time simply because of the circumstances. However, Delta Melanie does have an announcement she would like to make,” revealed Alpha Richard to the pack.
