Jessica’s POV
They left and I went back to being alone,
Xavier was still sleeping, I continued wiping his body.
He woke up again around two pm and this time he said something before sleeping off again, he called my name, it made me happy and for the first time since that incident, I cried like really cried till I got tired and slept off.
Xavier woke up three days later, by then everyone that is guilty has been arrested, according to the police Marcus’s father didn’t struggle or try to send for a lawyer, he said he did everything that he was accused of and also did what his son was accused of, I don’t believe he is going to take the fall for his son, something must have happened, after all he is a man so wicked he didn’t care about his own child.
I informed Xavier about it and he agreed with me, the court was to be held month ending so he should be able to move then, we had visitors visiting to see how he and I was doing, the news about him getting better was still being kept away from the public, so no body except Mike and Laure knows outside the family members.
Since I was getting better, I accepted a lot of interviews and meetings, I went to the police station several times while pretending to be in distress, I was in distress but not as bad as I portrayed it to be, Xavier is getting better, he can sit up and eat on his own now so am relieved and happy.
The guy from the gang that betrayed Marcus called me and gave me the last evidence they have about murder plot except it wasn’t Marcus but the father, I was getting really suspicious about it, how come everything is now Marcus father and Marcus is now innocent.
I called Blac to investigate about it, I explained everything to Xavier who kept quiet without saying a word, he just looked calm, Blac came back with the results and we got nothing, which means it wasn’t something said on phone but physically probably a family meeting or so, I then further instructed him to hack their phones.
Month ending time for the court, I went alone first, Xavier is to come in the middle of court session, no body will think he is okay if they see only me coming and if by the time they find out, it will be too late to do anything, grandfather and aunt are already inside, the reporters were kind of delaying me because of their numerous questions, I have already told my company what to do and what to write.
The court soon started when the judge appeared, Marcus’s father was standing in the witness box and after his interrogation which he affirmed to everything I was shocked but I didn’t let it show.
The court begin and there were defendants and I must say Marcus’s Uncle who is a lawyer is really trying a lot to get him a lighter sentence but it’s of no use because our lawyer is also good.
When Xavier came in everyone gasped, I smiled at him, he came and sat beside me ging me a kiss in the cheek, Marcus family supporters were looking at him with hatred and intense eyes, they should rest their eyes because it’s if no use.
“Having seen all the evidence and witness, I conclude that the accused is guilty and will be sentenced to life imprisonment for murder, embezzlement, manipulation and corruption,”
The judge hit his hammer three times on his table, everyone stood up as he left, we also started making our way outside, once we were out, the reporters swam to us like flies attracted to shit, the guards swing into action too, we were successful lead to the car and we drove off back to the hospital.
“Are you okay Xavier?”
I asked him, he smiled at me and held my hand while nodding,
“Yes, I am fine, I feel so relieved that my parents got the justice they deserved, and it’s all because of you Jess, thank you so much ”
“No, it’s us, we did it together, and besides they are also my parents, Xavier, I haven’t said this but thank you for waking up, thank you ”
“Am sorry for making you worry ”
“It’s not your fault, you saved my life, so am really grateful, let’s go on a vacation after you get better ”
“You mean honeymoon? We haven’t gone to celebrate our marriage, we should travel to any country you want and have some fun”
“Okay, am going to Korea, I always wanted to go to South korea, I love that country ”
“Okay then, we will go once am better which wouldn’t be long, we will visit the Namsan tower and the Han river and so many other tourists spots”
“Yes, thank you Xavier for living ”
He draw me to himself and hugged me tightly, my shoulder felt light and my heart felt free, it was as if I can breath again, and am so happy about it, I am happy.
When we got back to the hospital, the paparazzi and reporters were there, we were able to avoid them and get Xavier back to his room safely, I made sure to increase the amount of security he had before because I don’t know if we have other enemies apart from Marcus’s family do am not taking chances, I just got him and am not losing him again.
Grandfather and aunt went back home because grandfather was tired, thank goodness he is fine irrespective of all these stress he had been experiencing.
The doctor checked Xavier and said he will be better in the next two weeks but he needs rest even after he was discharged to avoid stressing the wound or worsening his condition, I was happy at the news, I started making preparations for his return back home, I was in his room with him when someone crossed my mind,
“Xavier, I just remembered Collins now, do you think he worked with them”
“I doubt, he is too stupid for such smart schemes ”
“Okay if you say so”
