Jessica’s Aunt’s POV
Jessica was lying face down on his bed, she seems to be sleeping, I went to her to go to the bed there,
“Jessica honey, wake up, go to….”
She just fall like she has no strength, she wasn’t sleeping this whole time, she fainted, i called the doctors and they carried her to another private room, I shouldn’t have gone home when she told me to yesterday, who knows how long she has been like that , who knows how long she has been out cold, I hope she is okay.
Grandfather was taking this whole thing in without saying anything, he is really strong but I will call a doctor to check on him in case, his condition is quite fragile.
I went to Jessica’s room, her head was bandaged and an oxygen masks over her nose, she looks pale and weak, dark circles around her eyes, the doctor approached me when he saw me,
“Miss, she is fine now, she is lucky she was found on time, she has a small concussion, no one knew that she hit her head including herself ”
“Yes, am aware because she told the doctor she didn’t fall because her husband was holding her but she is fine now right?”
“Yes, she is just resting, will wake up anytime soon, no noise and she shouldn’t exhaust herself ”
“Okay Doc, I will make sure of that, thank you so much ”
“You are welcome ma’am, please excuse me”
He left and I approached Jessica’s bed warily as if being hasty will harm her, the lawyers and the police are on the case and there are good results, Xavier’s grandfather is really not letting it go, he is sweeping his company too, fishing out the bad and rotten eggs hiding among the good ones and it’s really working and so far five people have been caught at the board members and forty amongst the workers, it’s really saddening.
The art gallery has been sized and being investigated, the people laundering money from it are all caught with solid evidence, no lawyer is coming to help them because of Xavier and his grandfather’s influence and connection to high places so no one wants to put out their neck for them.
Jessica woke up the next day, Xavier’s grandfather had a court sermon about the case that day so we weren’t there, I couldn’t let him go alone and I don’t trust those people at all, they might stress him out so I need to be there to watch things as it goes, the cook and butler called me to inform us about it and we were almost done then, so we started going back to the hospital.
Jessica’s POV
I woke up with my vision being blurry for a while, I was lying on a bed in a room I wasn’t familiar with, i almost started panicking till I noticed the IV connected to my hand and the mask on my face, I removed it weakly and pressed the emergency call button and soon my room was no longer lonely, the doctor checked me and the mask was removed and the IV changed, I tried sitting up quickly and immediately regretted it,
“Take it easy ma, you had a head injury ”
“Ok thank you ”
I held my throbbing head and I felt the gauze around it, they explained the reason for it, no wonder my head has been throbbing since that day, I was told Xavier woke up once yesterday during the night but slept off again.
After I got well enough to move around, I told them to transfer me to Xavier’s room and it was done, that way I can see him and he can see me whenever he woke up.
The door opened as I was wiping Xavier down with a small towel, Mike and Laura came in hold a get well soon flower, card, and fruit basket,
“Get better Jess ”
“Thanks Laura ”
“How….. How is he doing?”
Mike asked looking so nervous, I smiled at him and nodded,
“The doctors said he is out of danger now that his body is trying to get energy to start the healing process ”
“I knew he will be fine, he is lucky because I would have gone to hell and beat him back into his body ”
“You Mike beat Xavier? You must be joking ”
“Am not, I usually win our fights when we were small to teenage years”
“Babe, I love you but I find it hard to believe that, Xavier is way stronger than you, I have seen you two spar couple of times ”
“They spar? Once Xavier is up and well, am forcing him to Spar, bet he looks sexy while doing so”
“You wouldn’t imagine ”
“Okay Laura you done done ”
I laughed hard and the first genuine one that grace my lips for the past three days now,
They messed around a little before calling it a day,
“We will be leaving, we will keep in touch about the case”
“Thank you Mike and you too Laura, I and Xavier appreciate a lot”
“You two are my friends no matter what, you hear that Xavier, I and Laura wants you to get better ”
They left and I went back to being alone,
Xavier was still sleeping, I continued wiping his body.
He woke up again around two pm and this time he said something before sleeping off again, he called my name, it made me happy and since the incident, I cried like really cried till I got tired and slept.
Zac woke up three days later, by then everyone that is guilty has been arrested, according to the police Marcus’s father didn’t struggle or try to send for a lawyer, he said he did everything that he was accused of and also did what his son was accused of, I don’t believe he is going to take the fall for his son, something must have happened, after all he is a man so wicked he didn’t care about his own child.
