Jessica POV
I usually detest going home because it’s always cold and empty with no one there, just me alone, but now going home has been very exciting for me.
I got home after work, freshened up and went into the kitchen to cook, I decided to make a light meal that night.
“Ma’am, am still amazed by your cooking every time”
“Is that so, why? I have cooked multiple times ”
“I know, am just still surprised you are not burning the kitchen, Xavier’s mum likes cooking but she doesn’t know how to, we banned her from going near the kitchen island even because it’s always a disaster ”
I was surprised she talked about Xavier’s mum, I thought it was a taboo to bring her up due to the fact that no one talks about them at all.
The meal was soon ready and I set the table, the butler called for Xavier and he came down immediately to eat.
“Do you have plans this weekend?”
He asks me
“No, I don’t, why?”
“Let’s go watch a movie then, I got two tickets and I no one to invite, Mike and his girlfriend will be there too”
“No issues then, what genre of movie?”
“It’s horror, romance, I don’t really know, Mike is the one that invited me so I have no idea”
“Okay, I wish it’s romance , I like romance”
“Well if it’s something you don’t like you can watch another one, it’s no problem and am sure they wouldn’t mind”
“Okay then, till weekend ”
XAVIER’S POV
I was kind of nervous asking her out , I just wanted to take her out on a date, so that we can spend some time with each and know each other better, am surprised and elated she agreed, I wasn’t expecting that, I just mentioned Mike so that she will not think think that am asking her out and reject me but it still worked out, all I have to do is plan well.
I ate my food fast and left the dinning room to my study.
“Mike, how are you?”
I called Mike in the phone and asked immediately he answered.
“Huh, are you sure you know who you are calling ”
“Yeah, my friend mike that’s who am calling”
“Who is this? I think this is wrong number wrong Mike ”
“Mike stop the shit you fucking asshole”
“And there people is my friend Xavier that I know, what sup bruh, why you decide to give me goosebumps this late night ”
“I need your help for something important ”
“Wow, Xavier in need, it must be bad”
“Stop it, see can we have a double but single date, told Jessica you and your girlfriend will be coming but I don’t want us to stay together all the time ”
“You mean a double date with appearance sake? Nay, I want all day privacy with my girl”
“Please Mike I will pay for your everything, just choose a different genre but we will eat at the same restaurant then go to amusement park and play different games ”
“Nay, you think you can bribe me with food, you are better than that men, no I wanna…”
“I will give you that car you wanted, the green sports car, you can have it tomorrow”
“Consider it done my lordship ”
“Gold digging, backstabbing, bastard”
“Yes my lordship, will be coming for my car tomorrow, bye ”
I ended the call immediately, I don’t care about what ever he says next..
“Knock, knock, knock ”
A soft knock sounded a few minutes later
“Come in”
“It’s me, just got you snacks”
Jessica said as she came in to the study with a tray filled with cookies and short bread with fruit drinks, she is wearing her nightie and she looks ravishingly sexy.
“Oh, thank you a lot for it”
“Are you drawing a house blueprint?”
“Yes, we have a park resort we wanted to construct at A district , so am drawing a building plan blue print for ”
“Okay then, I am going to sleep now, sleep early, good night ”
She left and the study felt empty again, I went back to my work.
JESSICA’S POV
“Jessica!, Jessica!!”
Xavier’s voice sounded from downstairs, I woke up very late today and am running late for work, he has been waiting for me for the past 30 minutes, thank God am all done, I ran downstairs, my heels making noise on the stairs.
“Am here, sorry”
“No problem, let’s go”
We arrived a minute early, and I came down from the car, I was surprised seeing him also came down, following me.
“Uhmm, excuse me, are you following me?”
“Well, Mrs, am not, in case you have forgotten, this is my company too”
“Crap, I totally forgot, okay you are welcome”
“Thank you ”
We burst out laughing as people stared at us like we were weird.
We reached the top floor, he went into his office and people gasped, I smiled and went to my seat to start work for the day.
“Do you think they are in a relationship or know each other?”
I heard someone whisper at my back, office gossips, they must be talking about me and Xavier, oh, if only they know.
“I think too, I mean, he fired Natalie even though she gets the most popular scoops”
“But I think she deserves it, I mean she was terrible towards her and that last one was really bad”
“Yeah me too but he wouldn’t be doing these things for a stranger ”
“Maybe they are sleeping together ”
“You mean, they might be in a relationship, ahhh”
“Yes, check it, no one was able to get an interview with him except her and she got an exclusive one at that, then he demoted the person who treats her bad then proceed to sack her and bought the company and promoted her, if not in a relationship then what?”
