Jessica POV
“I also think the same too, I will be careful not to offend her from now on ”
“Me too, go work ”
I don’t know if they were saying it behind me so I can hear it or if they think I can’t hear them, I looked around and I noticed the stares too, it made me feel uncomfortable, what if they think I didn’t deserve the promotion I got, what if they think I got it because of personal relationship I had with Xavier? I shook the thoughts out of my head deciding to talk to Xavier about it later on.
“Beeeeeeepppppppp”
A message notification came to my phone, I looked at the sender and scoffed, what the hell does he want now.
(I regret what I did, can we see I want to apologise for everything )
I was surprised at the message I was seeing, Collins is not known to be the type that asks for forgiveness in fact he detest it with passion especially if it’s someone he feels like he is higher than so this is a surprise.
I didn’t reply him, I just read the message and said nothing after all, I told him not to contact me ever again after the last time.
I continued work like nothing happened, Xavier left the company soon after settling whatever he came to settle.
He greeted me goodbye with a smile as he leaves which I returned back with an equal smile too .
COLLINS POV
“That bit h dared ignored my message, she dared to treat me this way, it’s not her fault at all”
I got news that Metro company bought the Global company but I knew personally that Metro company didn’t buy that company, it was Xavier who did, so I decided to hasten my plans but Jessica isn’t giving me a face, okay, no problem, I have to see her face to face then.
XAVIER’S POV
The weekend came faster than I imagined and soon time for our date reached, I wore my casual attire, a yellow top and black jeans pants, I styled my hair to the side exposing my profile which I know is handsome.
I had called Mike and they were almost done, I went to get the car out of the garage, am giving it to Mike today but he will drive us home in return, I had planned prior to give it to him because he was the one that went for its auction but using it as a bargaining chip like this isn’t all that wrong too.
“Are you done Jessica?!!”
“Yes, am done, am coming downstairs now!!”
She said and a few minutes she appeared looking all sweet in a white floral dress and black canvas, I had to forcibly tear my eyes away from her.
“You look beautiful ”
“Oh, uhmm, thank you, you too look handsome, this is the first time am seeing you in casual attire ”
“Is that so, then you pay for private modeling, am expensive by the way”
“Okay, mister”
We went to the park amidst small talks and jokes here and there, the atmosphere light and jovial, we met Mike and his girlfriend soon, we greeted as Jessica and the other girl were greeting.
“Hey man, good to see you ”
“Good to see you too and you Jessica, longest time”
“Oh, Jessica this is Mike my friend and his girlfriend Laura, Mike and Laura this is Jessica my wife”
“Nice to meet you Jessica, Xavier has said much about you”
“My pleasure to meet you both too”
“So everyone lets go, ladies first ”
“So Jessica what do you want to ride first?”
I asked her as we were looking around, Mike and Laura has long since left us to go to the ferry ride.
“I think I will go for the cup ride”
I gulped nervously, it’s not that am scared or something, I just don’t like it, okay yes, I tried it once as a kid and it kinda traumatized me so I don’t like.
“Okay, let’s buy the tickets then”
I bought the tickets and we ended, it soon started, Jessica really enjoyed it a lot, the way she was shouting said it all, it wasn’t as bad as I felt when I was a kid, I enjoyed watching her.
JESSICA’S POV
It was fun, so much fun than I thought, I looked at Xavier, our eyes met and I blushed, I didn’t know he was staring at me all these while, we existed the ride and went for the ferry, the the horror house, we had cotton candy and ice cream too.
“It’s time for our movie to start, let me call Mike and Laura ”
“Okay then”
I called Mike and he joined us soon, we all set out to the movie.
“I will go buy popcorn and drinks for us”
Mike volunteered, I sighed and joined him.
“Thought I asked you to watch another movie ”
“Well, the movie Laura choose was this one I didn’t know that and I can’t stop her”
“Well, it’s nobody’s fault, let’s get the drinks and popcorn ”
We got everything and went back to the girls, we submitted the tickets and took our seats, the movie was good and we enjoyed it, we left there because there was still time we went to the beach
The scenery was great and good, we sat in the sand drinking and eating snacks.
JESSICA’S POV
I am very happy, Xavier really tried to make this day enjoyable for me, and I am grateful for it, I watched him as he was discussing with Mike, a smile on his face, he looked more human now because I saw how happy he looked, I was sitting beside Laura and we were enjoying each others company.
“Have you and Xavier been married for long?”
“No it’s have just been a month, we h….”
“Is that you, Jessica ?”
