In the blink of an eye, three months had passed.
One Saturday morning, it was another warm and sunny day. Tom and Agnes greeted each other after getting up, then changed into matching outfits and walked downstairs hand in hand. As soon as they appeared on the stairs, the elders in the living room heard their footsteps, turned to look at them, and were stunned by their appearance.
Tom wore a white T-shirt with a cute Mickey Mouse pattern on the chest, making him look a few years younger.
“Good morning, Grandma.”
“Good morning, Dad, Mom.”
“Good morning.”
Everyone exchanged greetings with smiles on their faces. The atmosphere in the family was extremely harmonious and warm. For three months now, each day of married life had been happier than the last.
“Madam, breakfast is ready,” a servant soon came to inform everyone.
“Alright, alright,” Grandma said as she got up from the sofa. “Let’s go have breakfast together!” She couldn’t help but take a few more glances at Agnes and Tom, praising them, “These clothes look great; you should wear them more often!”
Agnes was also wearing a matching T-shirt. She smiled gently and said, “Grandma, don’t you think it’s childish? Especially for Tom; it doesn’t match his temperament.”
“Not childish at all,” Grandma praised her. “Always trust a woman’s taste. You bought these, didn’t you?”
Agnes nodded and couldn’t help but smile. She then looked at Tom happily. He also had a gentle smile on his face. He didn’t comment; if his wife bought it, he would wear it.
Then everyone walked towards the dining room as usual, with Jane also complimenting their outfits along the way.
Tom hadn’t tried this style before, so he felt a bit uncomfortable at first. But since Agnes liked it, he liked it too. He would slowly get used to it; after all, there was a 12-year age gap between them.
Recently, he noticed that his mindset had become younger.
Today’s breakfast was particularly sumptuous and nutritious. However, as soon as Agnes sat down, she felt extremely uncomfortable in her stomach. She tried to hold back so as not to affect everyone else.
But the smell of the cake made her feel nauseous, and she couldn’t help but rush to the bathroom! She didn’t even have time to say anything.
“Agnes!” Tom saw this and hurriedly followed her in concern.
All the elders who had just sat down at the table were stunned for a moment. They seemed to have a premonition about something and got up to follow them!
Agnes rushed into the bathroom with Tom following her in and closing the door behind him. Grandma, Mr. Fritz, and Mrs. Fritz stood outside nervously staring at the closed door.
“Could she be pregnant?” Grandma asked anxiously but then became overjoyed. “That’s wonderful! Finally, we will have a great-grandchild!”
Mr. Fritz and Mrs. Fritz also showed joyful smiles on their faces; it was most likely that she was pregnant since she had been fine otherwise.
Tom stayed with Agnes in the bathroom until she finally started feeling better after some time. Her stomach was still uncomfortable but there was nothing to vomit since she hadn’t eaten yet.
“This is getting worse,” Tom said worriedly while supporting her body. “How about we go to the hospital for a check-up? If you’re pregnant, we need to confirm it.”
Agnes’s breath hitched as she slowly turned to look at him. At that moment, she suddenly remembered that her period was ten days late.
As a young woman, she felt a bit anxious despite being willing to have his child.
She blinked expressionlessly while trying to process this fact.
Tom patted her head gently and said softly, “Honey, you really might be pregnant.”
