EVOLET
Is this some kind of joke?!
Why is she saying such a thing to me?
Knowing how my Mom can be some times, I busted into laughter and said, patting her cheek gently, “Very funny, Mom. I can see through your game. You want to test and see if I’ll break down, huh? Don’t worry, I won’t.”
I chuckled.
But still… “Evolet!” Mom grabbed my hands, startling me with her tone.
“This is not a game! I’m serious. I never gave birth to you, child. We aren’t related.”
“What?” I gasped, feeling my whole body shaking.
Mother sighed with her head lowering down. That’s when she said, sharing the whole story, “It all began during the war. We were hiding away in our house when Cadell came with Luna Violet, seeking for our help.”
I stared at her, listening quietly. But amidst all these, I could hear my heart pounding seriously.
“The Luna was in a terrible state. She was bleeding seriously from the chest, and Cadell needed our help away from Chriselda and Thelma. So, we allowed him in,” She said, looking sad.
Mom went on narrating how Cadell had the whole house in complete darkness to hide Violet’s aura from spreading out.
“The only thing that gave our home light was the Luna. Her veins glowed in the dark, showing how terrible her pain was. She was struggling to stay alive, but it was hurtful. The sight of her struggle didn’t only make your father and I sad, it killed Cadell every minute,” Mom shared, getting teary.
“He tried to find a way out for her, but he failed. He was no match for her strength,” She sniffed, wiping the tears from the side of her eyes.
My own eyes were welling with tears already. I could picture my Cadell and the pains in his eyes.
“Right in Cadell’s arms, Luna Violet died,” Mom added, making my heart skitter.
The most painful experience ever. Having the one you love pass away right before your eyes is terrible.
Mom went through the same phase.
“Goddess,” I uttered sadly, slowly wrapping my arms across my chest.
That’s when Mom said with a smile, leaving me surprised, “But a miracle took place that day. After Violet gave up, her body suddenly glowed, and shifted into a beautiful white pup.”
“A pup? You mean…”
“The Queen never died, Eve. She was reborn,” Mom explained.
I was astonished!
But that wasn’t all. There was more.
“That precious pup became a beautiful baby girl, who became a part of my world. And that child was you, Evolet. You… you are Violet,” Mom revealed, smiling at me.
Me on the other hand… I was blown away!
“Luna Violet?” I stared into Mom’s eyes in shock, feeling my heart beating faster than before.
I wanted this to be a dream or even a prank, but Mom’s eyes said it all. Her smiles, the tears… Goddess, this… this is too much.
Suddenly, we heard the sound of something cracking. When Mom and I looked down at my necklace, we saw two of the beads had a crack.
“You have learnt how to hold by your emotions. You are stronger than ever,” Mom said, lifting my face up to her view.
I couldn’t speak. Even my lips were trembling.
Mom smiled at me and said, caressing my cheek, “My beautiful Evolet. Cadell made the right choice by giving you that name. It is a sign of who you are. Violet.”
“Cadell named me?” I gasped, mesmerized by this shocking revelation!
All these years I thought my parents gave me that rare name because of the love they have me, but it was Cadell all along!
Evolet, Violet… It’s the same meaning!
My Pervy wolf gave me the same identity, but in a different way. I’m… I’m his Violet!
“I’m Luna Violet? That means… Oh Crap!” My body shivered again.
I heard another crack on my necklace, which made Mom worried.
“Evolet, relax,” She comforted me by taking my hands and caressing them. “Just breath in.”
“If I’m the late Queen, that means Wolf Fall belongs to me! I’m a Luna!” I panicked, still overwhelmed by this news.
“Evolet!” Mom held me close and managed to calm me down.
When I felt a bit relieved, I asked, looking at my necklace, “Is that why I don’t remember anything? The necklace around my name was meant to…”
“To protect you,” Mom completed, stroking my hair.
“It was important for us to seal your identity until the right time. If I had told you this earlier, who knows the kind of steps you would have taken to endanger your life. You were craving to be Alpha Allen’s Luna, and I didn’t want you losing your life for the second time,” She said, petting me dearly.
“But now, you’re stronger and smarter than ever,” Mom added.
She’s right. Back then I was desperate to take us out of the poverty we where in, and straight into the life of royalty.
What if I had learnt the truth then?
Chriselda and Thelma would have easily wiped me out.
“I am Violet,” I repeated, holding on to the necklace around my neck.
The beads that has kept me hidden for years, all thanks to Cadell.
“My pervy wolf. Now I understand why he kept laughing at me when I frowned about his past with the Queen.” I laughed at myself, slowly switching to tears.
I’m still in shock.
Just then, Mom said, lifting me off her body, “It’s time, my dear.”
“Time?” I asked, looking at her face. But Mom wasn’t looking at me. She was staring at the entrance of the living room.
When I turned over, I saw Cadell there, gazing back at me.
Now I understood that word perfectly well. It made my heart skip, as I wondered what would happen next.
“Go and meet him, dear. Tonight, all your questions would be answered,” She said with a smile.
I stared back at Mom and felt hurt.
She never gave birth to me, meaning she never got to experience that feeling of bearing a child into this world.
Oh heavens! Now it makes more sense.
Her harsh behavior and treatments. She was struggling real hard to cope with everything.
“Please forgive me for taking away your life. I took your chance of having a better life again,” I apologized with guilt.
But Mom laughed, pulling me close for an embrace, saying, “You are a silly girl. You never took anything from me, my child. You made me the proud mother of the greatest Luna ever. I am so lucky to have you, Eve.”
“Mom.” I broke into tears and squeezed her tight.
“Come now, dear,” she said, pulling me off the couch, and leading me to Cadell.
Each step we made towards him, made my body tremble.
I no longer felt like myself but a different person.
Mom brought me to Cadell and carefully placed my hand in his, saying, “Please take care of her.”
“You can trust me on that,” He promised, giving me a soft smile which touched me deeply in the heart.
I gave Mom one last look and saw how sad she was when she waved at me.
It felt like she was saying… goodbye.
.
A few minutes later, I was sitting on the floor in an empty dark room, with just a window and door there.
Cadell was at the door with Scarlet. The Vampire Queen came to tell him that she got the pack shielded with a spell placed by her vampires.
“It should be enough to keep the enemies out in case they show up.”
“Thank you,” He apprecaited, looking back at me.
Shyly, I turned my face away and kept my gaze on the ground, waiting for the next phase of whatever truth that’d be revealed to me.
Honestly, I feel scared.
Scarlet soon left and Cadell came to sit in front of me, asking, “Are you ready?”
I nodded, breathing out heavily.
“Agnes already told you who you are, but now it’s my turn to help you remember everything and get your life back.”
“O… okay,” I stammered, nodding again.
“Hey.” He cupped my face and told me not to be scared. “I’m here with you,” He said with a smile, caressing me.
My heart glowed at his gesture, making me relaxed.
I gave out one big sigh and said, “I’m ready.”
“Okay. I want you to stay strong and control yourself when you feel your energy going out of place,” He instructed, stretching his hand towards my necklace.
Before tapping one bead out of existence, he said, “Think back to the last memory of your childhood.”
“Okay,” I said, shutting my eyes to flash back to the past.
The memory I had of my childhood was when Mom and I lost father.
When Cadell tapped the bead off, I felt the energy in my body hovering around me. It gave this harsh vibe in my body, and that’s when I saw my memory expanding!
There were flashes of me as a toddler, playing around with my parents!
What moved me more was the scene when Cadell showed up. I heard myself screaming excitedly while running to meet with him.
It was really beautiful.
After dwelling into this memory for a few minutes, Cadell tapped two beads off me at a time, and that’s when I saw myself being pulled deeper into the past.
But this memory was heart breaking.
I saw Mom and Dad looking at me from the side with sadness in their eyes, and Cadell… “VIOLET, STAY WITH ME!” He was holding me in his arms while trying to nurse the wound on my chest!
This is the same scene Mom narrated to me!
I felt an intense pain around my body. It was coming from the wound.
“Ca… Cadell,” I coughed out his name with blood spilling out of my mouth, slowly reaching for his face with my hand.
“Violet, please don’t leave me,” He begged with tears in his eyes, embracing me.
My heart sank at the sight of his pains.
It was heart breaking to watch.
Due to this scene, I felt my energy circulating uncontrollably in my body.
When I gave out a groan, Cadell said to me, “You can control it, Eve. Don’t stop.”
I nodded and did as he said, staying strong. And in no time, I succeeded in keeping my powers under control.
I kept watching this painful scene until the magical moment Mom spoke about took place. I saw myself shifting into a baby, as I cried in Cadell’s arms, seeking for his comfort.
When he saw this, he stared into my eyes innocently and said, taking hold of my little hand, “It’s okay, my love. You are no longer in pains. I’ll make sure no one harms you ever again. I’ll protect you always, Violet.”
“Violet… No.” He smiled at me and said, giving me my new name, “Evolet. My sweet little Evolet.”
My heart sank as I watched Cadell kiss my little hand with tears dripping from the side of his eye.
When I felt two more beads being taken off, my body was pulled back into the past again, and I saw myself in the great disastrous war.
So many creatures were fighting themselves without care of each other’s life.
In the midst of this battle, I saw Scarlet’s father, a Werecat Alpha who looked so much like Trent, and Cadell, fighting to keep me safe.
In that memory, I was begging Cadell to let me speak to the creatures, but he didn’t want to listen.
He feared they’d turn against me.
That’s when a hand held me from behind, making me turn over to see who it was.
“Christy?” I called Chriselda by her nickname.
She stood against Cadell’s words and told me to help those who were dying. “They need you, Violet!” She had yelled, glaring at Cadell.
And because of this, he gave in. He didn’t want to look like an obstacle in my way, so he decided to come along with Chriselda and I.
But on the battle ground, something separated me from Cadell.
He was calling out to me and I was doing the same.
A forbidden spell was used. I could pick the energy around.
Using my power to cleanse the area I was in, I saw a young Thelma standing a few steps away from me, smiling devilishly.
Tracing the scent from her, I said in rage, “You devilish wolf! This is your doing!!”
Just as I was about to snap my finger at her, I felt an excruciating pain that came busting from my back and right out of my chest!
I saw who my attacker was.
“Chri… Christy?” I coughed, watching how she smirked at me with no guilt, forcing the sword deeper into my body.
That forced out a powerful scream out from my mouth.
It affected me in the present.
“AHHH!” I screamed, almost losing my grip on my powers.
“Evolet.” Cadell pulled me close into his hold, pacifying me. “Stay strong. You’re almost there,” He said, petting me.
I was shivering in his hold while struggling from within. When I managed to hold on, I heard Cadell’s roar in my head, ringing out so loudly.
It’s from the past.
Thelma was pulling my powers, which came out as my blood mixed with traces of my energy, filling it in a bottle she had prepared specially for me.
But her plans were ruined by beast Cadell, who dived in and broke the chain.
“NO!” Chriselda had yelled.
She shifted into her wolf and went to fight Cadell, but both ladies were unable to deal with him.
He almost killed them both.
“I’ve had enough of you Dark Blood!” Thelma sparked, sipping out of the bottle.
That’s how a new side of the sorceress was formed. She tried to trap Cadell with her new ability, but failed.
Cadell swiftly grabbed me and made a run for it into the woods.
I saw how he raced with speed, trying to escape Wolf Fall when suddenly, a shield appeared out of nowhere and kept him trapped.
He couldn’t go through, because he didn’t want Thelma to finally detect his scent.
That held him back.
All these memories were beginning to come together. It no longer felt like a dream or glimpse of someone else’s past, but mine!
“I’m going to take it off finally. Try to push yourself hard this time, okay?” Cadell shared his plan, reaching for the hook behind my neck.
With all that I have seen, I was fully prepared.
And the moment he took the necklace off, my eyes were forced open!
I saw my whole body engulfed with purple flames that didn’t burn me up, but filled me with strength and more memories of myself.
The only thing that was hurting my body was my wolf. It was finally merging with me, making me see my past relationship with Cadell and how I first met him.
The moments together, the sneaking out of my meetings with other Alphas just to go wild in the forest with Cadell, the passionate intimacy with him… I remember it all.
I know who I am!
“I remember everything!” I laughed, touching my face to feel myself while the flame died down.
“I’m Violet!” I chuckled, lifting my eyes at the man who knelt before me, smiling.
“Cadell,” I called his name, feeling that deep connection and love for him.
The only man my heart and soul chose to bond with. The darkness who stole the heart of the light.
My True mate!
“Cadell!” I screamed, jumping right on him, with my arms wrapping around his neck.
He received me with all of his heart, squeezing me tight with all his strength.
“My Violet.”
“Cadell, I remember everything. I’m… I’m back!” I cried, burying myself in his hold.
He carefully held my face up to look into my eyes. Then with a strong pull, he had his lips locking with mine, kissing me like his whole life depends on it.
So many years apart from my Cadell has left me craving for all those lost times we missed.
I could feel his desire and pains to have me back, and now that I’m here… I’m going to make sure we relive every beautiful moment again.
In fact, I couldn’t wait.
I held Cadell close with my lips pressing hard on his, and my body carefully pushing him down to the ground.
With my hands running right into his shirt, he swiftly grabbed my intention and didn’t hesitate to respond with the same move, sliding my shirt off my body.
I felt his lips sliding down to my chest, as his hand unhooked my bra from behind, feeling my bare body sweetly.
Like one under a spell, I fell right under Cadell, and felt every bit of his hunger and love for me.
This feeling was different from our past intimacy.
It was filled with an intense fire displayed by Cadell, and I fell deeply in love for my mate more than ever.
