Tom crouched beside the bed. The bedroom was cozy and tidy, filled with a faint fragrance. He looked at her gently and said, “Good morning.” His voice was low and magnetic.
The girl lay on her side under the covers, a slight smile on her lips. “Good morning,” she replied sweetly, looking at him quietly. “Are you going to the company?”
“Yes,” Tom nodded, reaching out to tuck her in. He spoke softly, “I have a meeting this morning. You should sleep a bit more.” Then he gently touched her forehead, full of affection. “You worked hard yesterday.”
“It wasn’t hard,” Agnes said, extending her hand from under the covers to hold his fingers reluctantly. His hands were well-defined and very attractive. Marrying him was her greatest happiness; how could she call it hard work?
Tom smiled at her, “Are you sure you don’t want to go on a honeymoon?” He brought up last night’s topic again.
Agnes shook her head. “No need. Being with you makes me feel happy every day.”
Tom gently stroked her forehead again. “Good girl, I’ll come back early and then we can practice driving together.”
“Okay, let Jeffery drive you; don’t drive yourself.”
“Alright.”
“Go on,” Agnes released his hand and smiled at him.
Tom stood up from the bedside. “See you this afternoon, Miss Bubu.”
The girl waved obediently at him. “Bye-bye~”
Tom looked at her, took a few steps back before turning to leave the room, and gently closed the door behind him.
Lying in bed, the girl closed her eyes in happiness.
She loved him so very much…
Agnes didn’t sleep much longer. About half an hour later, she got up, went downstairs to greet the elders, and had breakfast with them.
Grandma subtly asked about their wedding night. Agnes drank her porridge and smiled as she answered, “Grandma, we are preparing for pregnancy.”
The old lady was slightly taken aback but then couldn’t stop smiling. “That’s wonderful! Grandma won’t ask anymore. Just waiting for your good news!”
Agnes had a few days off for her honeymoon and hadn’t gone to work yet. She was always gracious and sincere, which earned her the affection of those around her.
After breakfast, Agnes went upstairs to Tom’s study.
She noticed that the arrangement had changed.
“Ma’am,” a servant came in with a pot of tea and said cheerfully, “This new desk is yours. The young master personally chose it for you so that you can share this study together.”
“Alright.”
Agnes approached the new desk and found that he had prepared a computer and some office supplies for her; even a calendar was ready.
There was also a bouquet of yellow lilies on her desk.
Agnes sat down at the desk as the servant set down the teapot and cup. “Ma’am, if you need anything, just call me; I’ll be outside.”
“No need; you can go about your business. I don’t need anything,” Agnes smiled. “Don’t worry about me.”
The servant smiled back, bowed slightly, then turned to leave and closed the study door behind her.
Agnes turned on the computer to work on her comic book. As she opened the drawing software, a beautiful cover page came into view, filling her with happiness-
“Mr. Kitten, You Are My Sweetheart Cookie.”
Every time she saw these words, she couldn’t help but smile slightly, thinking of her Mr. Kitten’s ever-present image.
The progress of her creation almost mirrored real-life events.
She had already completed the engagement scenes to her satisfaction, capturing every detail perfectly. As a comic artist, she had never been so pleased with her work before; perhaps because it contained all of her true emotions.
Scrolling through previous chapters with the mouse, Agnes felt immense happiness as the images were as beautiful and romantic as real life.
It was as if she experienced everything all over again.
This work was almost like a documentary, recording every little moment of love between her and Mr. Kitten…
Love is giving without expecting anything in return; just wishing for his well-being.
