When the car drove into the yard and stopped in front of the villa, Tom unbuckled his seatbelt but did not rush to get out. The night was quiet. He turned and unfastened his wife’s seatbelt, gently pulling her towards him and kissed her impulsively on the lips. Agnes was startled by the sudden kiss, completely unprepared, but found it sweet. The surrounding temperature seemed to rise. Soon, she felt his deep affection and urgency, as if he was trying to release a strong emotion held within him. Agnes began to respond passionately to the kiss, which felt different from any kiss they had shared before.
Tom seemed filled with deep regret and tenderness, almost fearful that if he had taken a wrong step, he might never have met her or married her. When the kiss ended, Tom released her and they gazed at each other closely, both blushing and slightly breathless, as if there were countless words to say but unsure how to begin. Despite being married today, they felt the shyness and excitement of young lovers just starting out, their hearts beating irregularly.
Agnes was the first to look away, feeling a bit flustered, then opened the car door and got out. The cool night breeze on her face cleared her mind a little. After Tom got out, they walked towards the brightly lit living room together.
Back home, they were greeted by Grandma and Mr. and Mrs. Fritz who asked if they were tired or hungry and offered to have something made in the kitchen for them. Having already eaten on the cruise ship, they politely declined. Their family suggested they head upstairs to rest early since wedding days are exhausting with little sleep the night before and an early start for makeup.
After exchanging goodnights with everyone, Tom led Agnes upstairs. After showering, they wore matching pajamas and finally came together without any worries, having received approval from both families and being officially married. He helped dry her hair before carrying her to bed. Despite their fatigue, they were incredibly sweet and happy.
Agnes lay on the large soft bed with her eyes closed, enjoying his passionate kisses. Because she loved him deeply, she didn’t mind being young or not wanting to become a mother too soon; she wanted to enjoy a few more years of fun first.
Her thoughts always prioritized him; his age was a factor and Grandma especially wanted a great-grandchild soon. Mr. and Mrs. Fritz might not have pressured them openly but surely felt anxious given their son’s age.
Considering all aspects, Agnes did not ask Tom to use contraception; she was willing to bear a child for him no matter the pain. The highest form of love might be this: thinking of him first, willing to have a child at her best age without fear of losing her figure or impacting her career.
As the moon set and the sun rose, a beautiful day began.
When Tom woke up, he gazed at the girl sleeping in his arms for a few seconds; such mornings were undoubtedly wonderful for him. Carefully withdrawing his arm so as not to wake her, he got out of bed quietly.
Agnes must have been very tired as she slept deeply without waking up. Tom moved gently as he changed out of his pajamas into a custom white shirt that exuded unique charm.
With quiet movements, he put on his watch and prepared himself before heading downstairs for breakfast before going to work.
Before leaving, he paused by the bed, looking at the sleeping beauty with a slight inner conflict-wanting to say goodbye yet fearing to disturb her sleep.
After some thought, Tom finally knelt by the bed and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
Agnes happened to open her eyes at that moment; their eyes met at close range as time seemed to stand still.
