Today is the day I accept my role as Co-Alpha. I will be taking on my responsibilities as an Alpha alongside Ethan, and I am excited. I am excited about this new beginning. I stood in front of the mirror, checking myself out as I got dressed for the coronation. Just as I was about to apply the last touch of mascara, my phone started ringing. I rolled my eyes when I saw who was calling, then tapped the green button to pick up.
“Hey, bitch,” Lilah echoed through the phone. She had been calling me all day.
“Good morning to you too,” I said, putting the phone on speaker and placing it on the table to continue my makeup.
“When will you be here?” she smiled through.
“After the coronation. I’ll be out,” I said. “Don’t tell me you won’t be here to witness the bonding,” I added, trying to fake hurt.
“You know why I couldn’t make it, but I promise to make it up to you,” she said on the other end.
“I’ll see you soon then.”
“Bye,” she ended the call.
Since I met Lilah at the mall the other day, she has become my friend. This is the first time I’ve ever had a friend, and it feels amazing. Lilah is an incredible person. I decided to let her into my once-lonely life. I told her about my newfound dream of becoming a fashion designer, and she’s been incredibly encouraging. In our few weeks of friendship, I’ve learned everything about her, and I finally told her everything about my life too.
She has always hated Skylar and is afraid of Aiden, but she promises to confront him next time because her husband is a powerful Alpha.
When I told Ethan about my newfound dream, he was happy for me and immediately set up a studio. It didn’t take them a week to get everything ready. He brought in a stylist from Paris to help me, and now I even have a personal fashion design trainer to catch me up on what I’ve missed in the fashion world.
I entered the coronation ground, and all eyes were on me. It felt like a grand ceremony, and I wasn’t sure if something like this was supposed to happen. Most of the time, werewolves don’t accept two rulers or Alphas, let alone a female Alpha. But Ethan’s pack is different. They don’t care if it’s two or even three Alphas, as long as they feel safe.
They all love Ethan, which is why they accepted me. They trust his leadership, and the unity in his pack is remarkable.
People cheered as I stepped up beside Ethan.
“Welcome to the coronation of our new Alpha. Our previous Alpha is still alive, hale, and hearty, but he has chosen to have another Alpha to co-lead the pack with him. Because we trust the judgment of our beloved Alpha, I believe we can all agree to this,” Elder Morgan, one of the pack elders, announced, and everyone cheered.
“If you are not in support of this bonding, signify now,” he said, scanning the crowd. Silence fell over the gathering, so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
I glanced around and my eyes landed on my father. I smiled at him, and he smiled back. I had learned from Lilah that Skylar had thrown my dad in the dungeon, though he was later released. The audacity she had to do that enraged me. That night, I begged Ethan to fly my father to Paris, and he did. My dad had no other family, and I was glad he agreed. I was his only family, and I wouldn’t allow him to suffer anymore. He now lives in a large mansion here, with no worries for the rest of his life.
He has been through so much because of me, and now that I have the power and resources to change his life, I am ready to do so.
“Now say the word,” Elder Morgan’s voice brought me out of my thoughts.
“I, Emily of the House Roux Moreau, accept the role of Co-Alpha of the Rock Reel Pack,” I declared.
“We accept you, Emily Roux Moreau, as our Alpha,” the entire pack chorused. At that moment, I felt the sudden weight of responsibility and the undeniable burden of leadership on my shoulders. This moment would change my life forever.
“I, Shenaya Le Mure, reject Alpha Aiden Caesar as my Alpha and reject the Crescent Pack as my pack,” I muttered under my breath. Immediately, I felt the severing of the bond, leaving a hollow emptiness in my chest. I glanced over at my father, and he did the same. We had both rejected Aiden’s pack at the same time. He must be feeling the void now.
This is just the beginning of my reign, and I vow to never be that miserable little Omega girl again.
I am an Alpha, a leader of my pack. People look up to me, and I have a multitude of responsibilities to shoulder. I am determined to lead my pack well and also to become one of the best designers in the world. I will be a good mother to my son too.
I will never be a victim again. Not now, and never again.
I am Alpha Emily Roux Moreau.
