She felt safe when she was in his arms. Secure and protected.
“Can you just hold me please?”She asked him. He got up and held onto her hand.”Hold me please.”She asked him again. He pulled her into his arms and he felt how her arms went around him too. He heard how she let out a long sigh. She had missed being in his arms and being held by him lord knows how she can feel this way and why but every second that she’s not near him she doesn’t get peace. And the offer he had made her had been on her mind and she wondered if she should accept it even if it was for a little while. He was so warm and she sank into him even more. Oh why did I meet you on that faithful day? Why have you come into my life? She wondered to herself. The door opened and Bella entered.
“Oh I’m sorry I didn’t know that….-”
Reina moved away from Nicolas.”No it’s okay.”She said.”Did you need anything.”
“Nope just came to check how you doing? Dinner will be ready in ten minutes so I suggest both of you go freshen up. Mom hates it when we are late for dinner.”
“Tell your mom thank you for the invitation but I need to get home.”
“She’s not going anywhere.”Nico added.”We’ll be there shortly.”She glared at him.
“Not we. You… anyway I don’t have anything to wear.”
“Bella won’t mind borrowing you something. She has a lot of clothes that she doesn’t even wear.”He looked at his sister.
“Yes brother is right I don’t mind lending you something.”
“Good…. send whatever she’ll be wearing to my room.”
Bella smiled at them.”You guys look so good together. See you at dinner.”With that she closed the door behind her.
“You can’t go around making decisions for me. Besides we are not dating for you to decide for me, and you don’t want to give your family members the wrong idea.”
“There’s nothing wrong in wanting you.”He said and pulled her into him for a long passionate kiss that had her melting in seconds.”We don’t have time for that.”He placed his chin ontop of her head.”Let’s go and get ready.”She groaned her displeasure and he laughed.
Ten minutes later she was walking down the stairs next to him. Bella had borrowed her a brand new beautiful green dress that’s half cut and fell over her knees along with the dress she had given her a pair of black heels too. Nicolas had asked her to leave her hair loose, he looked handsome as always and had chosen a more casual look. Black jeans that are just hugging those thighs a white t-shirt and a black leather jacket with a black boot on his feet. His hair is still wet from his shower and a few curls were hanging over his forehead, when he had came out of the shower all wet she had almost jumped on him and ask him to make love to her. She’s longing to feel him inside of her. Upon entering the dining room Bella’s smile broaden and Reina can only guess what she’s thinking.”Don’t they look good together.”She said elbowing Santiago. Once they were seated he asked Nicolas.
“You dating Reina. You never mentioned anything to me?”Santiago said.
“No they are not.”Bella jumped in before he could talk.”But I wouldn’t mind if they did they suit each other. I can already picture their babies together they’ll be just adorable and cute. A beautiful mother and handsome dad. What do you think brother.”She winked at him.
“I think you should keep quiet. Santiago tell your future wife to know her place.”
“That’s enough you two let’s eat.”Luciana said. They ate in silence and for a change Reina’s food stayed down it was half way through the meal that Nicolas surprised her by saying.
“You’re not drinking your wine.”She averted her gaze away from him. He turned her face so that she can look at him.
“I don’t feel like drinking.”She said. He searched her eyes and she had this feeling that he doesn’t believe her.
“You lying to me. Why?”
“Nico.”His mother said.”Let it go if she doesn’t want to drink let her be.”He kept quiet and finished his food. After dinner everyone retreated to the patio where they sat and had night caps.
“How’s the wedding gown coming along dear.”Mrs Garcia asked her.
“Perfect it still needs work but Bella has nothing to worry about it will be done before the wedding.”
“I trust you. And I believe there was a reason why I chose you.”Bella said.
“Would you mind if I have a look.”
“Not at all ma’am.”Maria came and brought her some ginger tea.
Nico has just heard some disturbing news and it’s about Reina. Yesterday when he had found out her full name he had asked his PI to do a full background check on her, and what ever she had said about her not having anything was true. She is twenty four years old and worked in his company even though she was earning enough the bank takes most of it practically leaving her with nothing. Her dad had been a drunk and a gambler all the debt that she’s paying off is her father’s she has even lost their house and her mom had passed on too. She’s struggling and yet she wasn’t breathing a word… Had he been wrong about her? But what had shocked him was the fact that she is pregnant, he had asked her and she had denied it, seems like they need to have a talk that’s long overdue.
Reina saw him coming back from inside he had received a call and excused himself. She sipped on her tea, it was delicious and it kept the nausea at bay. He took the seat next to hers and leaned back in his chair and stared at her.
“Is something wrong.”She whispered so that only he can hear.
He gave her one of his sexy smiles any other time she would have welcomed it but the way he was smiling and looking at her scared her a little.”Everything’s perfect why would there be anything wrong?”
“You’re staring at me.”She told him.
“You’re a beautiful woman of course I’m gonna stare.”
She blushed and looked away. Fifteen minutes later his mother excused herself and went to bed. It was only the four of them left and for some reason it felt intimate she stood up.
“Where are you going?”
“I need to get home.”She told Nicolas.”I’m not sleeping here. Do you mind asking your driver to drop me off at home.”She asked Bella.
“Sure. Come on let’s go.”
“She’s not going anywhere.”Nicolas cut in.
“And why not. Who are you to tell me?”
“Oh sweetheart you do not want me to answer that question especially infront of them.”The tension between them was extremely heavy.
“Okay I think it’s time for us to leave.”Santiago told Bella.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?”She asked as soon as they were alone.”Stop trying to dictate my life. Yes I admit I’m sexually attracted to you but that doesn’t give you the right to control my life.”
“I thought I made it very clear to you that I hate lies?”He told her.
She looked at him confused.”What does that got to do with anything.”
“When I asked you if you were pregnant what did you tell me. That you weren’t.”
“And… and I’m… I’m not.”She stammered.
