Leo’s pov
I awoke to the soft light of dawn filtering through the curtains, the promise of a day gently nudging him awake. Mira turned to my side, my eyes softening as I gazed at my sleeping wife, Mira. Her face was serene, framed by a cascade of dark hair that spilled over her pillow. She was six months pregnant, and the gentle curve of her belly was a constant reminder of the life growing inside her.
Carefully, I slipped out of bed, determined not to wake her. I moved with the quiet precision of someone who had mastered the art of early mornings, heading downstairs to the kitchen. I paused at Rachel’s room, smiling at the sight of my Five -year-old daughter tangled in her blankets, her soft snores filling the air.
I felt a swell of responsibility and love. Every morning, my mission is to ensure Mira didn’t lift a finger, protecting her and the baby from any undue stress. Today was no different, but it held special significance. We were preparing for Rachel’s initiation party into the park, a cherished family tradition that welcomed children into the community. I wanted everything to be perfect.
In the kitchen, I started by brewing a pot of Mira’s favorite herbal tea, the one that helped with her morning nausea. As the water boiled, I moved to prepare a nutritious breakfast. I carefully sliced fresh fruit, whipped up some eggs, and toasted a few slices of whole grain bread. I arranged everything on a tray, adding a small vase with a single daisy, knowing how much Mira appreciated such thoughtful touches.
The tea kettle whistled, breaking the peaceful silence. I poured the steaming liquid into a delicate cup, inhaling the soothing aroma. I arranged the breakfast tray and carried it upstairs, balancing it with the practiced ease of a man who had done this many times before.
Back in the bedroom, Mira was beginning to stir. Her eyes fluttered open, and a smile spread across her face as she saw me.
“Good morning, beautiful,” I say, setting the tray down gently beside her. “How did you sleep?”
“Better, thanks to you,” Mira replied, sitting up slowly and taking a sip of the tea. “This is perfect, Leo. You always know just what I need.”
I kissed her forehead. “It’s the least I can do. You and the baby comes first.” I say with a smirk.
Mira glanced at her belly, her hand resting protectively over it. “I’m so grateful for you, Leo. You’ve been amazing.”
We shared a quiet moment before the sound of tiny footsteps interrupted their reverie. Rachel appeared at the door, her hair tousled and her eyes still heavy with sleep.
“Daddy, Mommy,” she mumbled, rubbing her eyes. “Can I cuddle?”
I chuckled and lifted Rachel onto the bed, sandwiching her between me and Mira. Rachel giggled, and for a few precious minutes, we lay together, enjoying the warmth of our family cocoon.
Eventually, I knew I had to get moving. There were still preparations to be made for Rachel’s party. I helped Rachel get dressed, choosing a bright, cheerful outfit that matched her lively spirit. Then, I returned to the kitchen to start on the day’s tasks.
The house buzzed with activity at the moment. All thanks to Ronald, he has really been of great help to me. He make sure that the decorations and everything are present already, I had to re- check and know what else is needed .
My mind constantly flickered back to Mira, ensuring she was comfortable. Every now and then, I ‘d steal a moment to sit beside her, holding her hand, and sharing a few words of affection.
By midday, the house was transformed. The backyard was a kaleidoscope of colors, with a small table set up for the initiation ceremony. Neighbors and friends began to arrive, their presence adding to the joyful atmosphere.
Rachel’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she darted around, showing off her dress to anyone who would look. I couldn’t help but feel a swell of pride watching my daughter. Today was a celebration of her, but it was also a testament to the love and unity of our family.
As the guests settled in, I guided Mira to a comfortable seat, ensuring she had everything she needed. Then I turned my attention to Rachel, who was eagerly awaiting her moment. I knelt down to her level, holding her small hands in my.
“Can we go now, sweetheart?” I asked, with gentle encouragement voice.
Rachel nodded vigorously. “Yes, Daddy! I’m ready!”
The ceremony began, I was leading the way. I spoke about the importance of family, community, and the love that bound them all together. Rachel stood proudly, her small chest puffed out with pride as she listened to her father’s words.
When the moment came, I lifted Rachel into my arms, holding her high for everyone to see. “Welcome, Rachel, to our community,” I announced. “May you always feel the love and support of those around you.”
The crowd erupted in applause, and Rachel beamed with joy. I lowered her back to the ground, feeling a profound sense of fulfillment. This day was about Rachel, but it was also about the future we were building together as a family.
The rest of the afternoon was filled with laughter, games, and a sense of camaraderie that left me feeling deeply content. I move through the crowd, ensuring everyone was enjoying themselves while keeping a watchful eye on Mira and Rachel.
As the sun began to set, casting a warm glow over the gathering, I found a quiet moment with Mira. We sat together, watching Rachel play with the other children.
“We are getting there sweetie,” I said softly, wrapping an arm around Mira’s shoulders.
Mira leaned into my, her eyes shining with emotion. “Yes, we did. Thank you, Leo, for everything. You’ve made this day perfect and I wish the final initiation will go well too.”
I kissed her gently. “We’re a team, Mira. And with our new baby on the way, our family is only going to get stronger.” Suddenly Mike came towards us with Nina by the side, I Stand while Nina rush to sit beside Mira who was struggling trying to stand
“The decoration is so beautiful!!” Whose idea is it?” Mike ask as his eyes switch to Leo and Mira.
Is Leo and Ronald idea,” Mira said with a smile on her face.
The evening drew to a close, guests began to leave in order to come out for the last initiation during the full moon, and the house slowly returned to its usual tranquility. I tucked Rachel into bed, listening to her excited recounting of the day until she finally drifted off to sleep.
Downstairs, I found Mira and Nina on the couch gisting and laughing together when her eyes reaches to me, I saw contented smile on her face.,
I knew there would be more challenges ahead, more sleepless nights and moments of worry.
As the last of the daylight faded, I whispered a silent promise to myself: to always be there for my family,.
I went to Mike and they fellow pack sitting and drinking outside as the wait for the full moon for Racheal final initiation.
