I woke up to the soft sound of Leo’s breathing, his arms still wrapped around me protectively. The warmth of his body against mine is comforting, a reminder that despite the chaos outside, inside these walls, we’re safe. I gently extricate myself from his embrace, careful not to wake him. The morning sun is just starting to filter through the heavy drapes, casting a soft glow across the room.
Slipping out of bed, I pad quietly across the plush carpet to the adjoining bathroom. The cool tiles under my feet send a small shiver up my spine, but the sensation is refreshing. I splash some water on my face, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep. As I look at my reflection, I see a mixture of exhaustion and determination. Racheal arrival has been a whirlwind, but her presence fills me with a newfound purpose.
I dress quickly, opting for comfortable yet practical clothing. There’s a lot to do today, and I need to be ready. As I step out of the bathroom, I find Leo stirring. His eyes flutter open, and a lazy smile spreads across his face as he sees me.
“Good morning,” he murmurs, his voice still thick with sleep.
“Morning,” I reply, leaning down to kiss him softly. “Sleep well?”
“Always do when you’re next to me,” he says, pulling me closer for a deeper kiss.
Reluctantly, I pull away. “We have a lot to do today, Leo. I need to check on Racheal and then go over the security plans with the guards.”
He nods, understanding. “I’ll join you in a bit. Just need a few more minutes here.”
I smile and head out of our room, making my way to Racheal’s nursery. The guards nod respectfully as I enter. Racheal is still sleeping soundly in her crib, her tiny chest rising and falling rhythmically. I take a moment to just watch her, marveling at the peacefulness she exudes. It’s hard to believe that something so small and innocent could have such a profound impact on our lives.
One of the guards, a burly man named Thomas, steps forward. “Everything’s quiet, ma’am. No issues to report.”
“Thank you, Thomas,” I say. “I’ll be in the study if anything comes up.”
I leave the nursery and head downstairs to the study. The house is still and quiet, most of the staff not yet up. I take a seat at the large oak desk and start going through the security plans. We’ve had to increase security because we have actually been through a lot,, and it’s crucial that everything is in place.
As I’m poring over the documents, there’s a knock on the door. “Come in,” I call.
The door opens, and Ronald walks in, his face lit up with excitement. “Good morning teacup! How’s our little princess doing?”
“She’s perfect,” I say with a smile. “Still sleeping.”
Ronald sits down across from me. “I wanted to talk to you about the ceremony. It’s only a week away, and there’s still so much to plan.”
I nod. The ceremony to officially welcome Racheal into our pack is a big event, and it needs to be perfect. “I’ve been thinking about that too. We need to make sure the guest list is finalized and that the security is tight. We can’t afford any slip-ups.”
“Agreed,” Ronald says. “I’ll handle the guest list. You just focus on the security.”
We spend the next hour going over the details, making sure everything is in place. By the time we finish, Leo joins us, looking more awake and ready to tackle the day.
“Morning, Ronald ,” he greets him with a warm smile. “What’s the plan for today?”
“Security and ceremony planning,” I say, summarizing our discussion. “We need to make sure everything is perfect for Racheal ‘s introduction to the pack.”
Leo nods. “I’ll talk to the guards and make sure we’re fully prepared. Nothing’s going to go wrong on our watch.”
With a plan in place, we all go our separate ways to handle our respective tasks. The day passes in a blur of activity, with meetings and preparations taking up most of our time. By evening, I’m exhausted but satisfied with the progress we’ve made.
As I head back to our room, I stop by Racheal’s nursery to check on her. She’s awake now, gurgling happily as she plays with a stuffed wolf toy. I scoop her up and hold her close, her tiny hands reaching out to touch my face.
“Hey there, little one,” I whisper. “Did you have a good day?”
She coos in response, her bright eyes sparkling with curiosity. I carry her back to our room, where Leo is waiting. He takes Racheal from me, cradling her gently.
“She’s growing so fast,” he says, marveling at her.
“She is,” I agree, feeling a pang of bittersweet pride. “We’ll blink, and she’ll be all grown up.”
We spend the rest of the evening together, the three of us. It’s these quiet moments that I cherish the most, a reminder of what’s truly important. As night falls and we settle down to sleep, I feel a deep sense of contentment. No matter what challenges come our way, I know we can face them together.
“We will be good sweetie you don’t have to bother about anything”, I flinch knowing well that someone mind link me, i turned to Leo and he turns to and gives me an evil smile. I hit him on the shoulder then he laughs out loud
“Leo so you can still mind link me, I say looking furious?” Of course ” you are my wife and I can get anything I want to to know from you. You’re right Leo, I say as smile touch my lips, we stay there holding each other in silence. I then breaks the silence as I ask.
Leo what if something goes wrong at the party?” What if my little princess gets hu-hur.. Sheeeee!!! Leo stops me from completing the word, am here, trust me nothing is going to happen, Racheal will be welcomed to the pack and nothing else just be positive and strong for Racheal and I and the baby too, okay!! I nod my head as he kiss for fore head and laid my head back to his shoulder. I felt strong and happy again.
