A Divorce? 2

Book:A Night With Him Published:2025-2-8

“Lily, we are getting a divorce. A real divorce this time. Starting from now, your last name isn’t Blackwell anymore and you have until morning to leave my house.”
Lily stared at him for a few seconds before laughing out loud.
“Oh my God, what?” She laughed.
As she laughed, Axel kept staring at her with a stern look.
“I am not joking.” Axel said and her laughter slowly died down.
“Well, you must be.” Lily chuckled. She bit her lip and stared at him, it didn’t look like he was joking.
“Axel, come on. Tell me this is a joke.” She said.
“You have until morning to leave.”
“What? What is going on? What are you saying?” Lily raised her voice as she felt her heart race faster and her hands trembling.
“I have filled your account with a lot of money, it could last you a lifetime. You are to leave and never come back.” Axel replied and Lily chuckled again. It was still so funny to her.
“Axel, if this is some kind of joke then you need to stop it. Why are we getting a divorce? Why? Did I do something wrong? If I did, then I am sorry. I won’t do… ”
“When you leave, you are to not go back to Gavin in Florida. If you do, I will kill him. You would not be in contact with anyone, if you return, I will have you arrested.” He said. Tears welled up in Lily’s eyes as she tried so hard to understand what was going on.
What the hell was happening?
“Our kids.” She whispered. “What am I supposed to do with our kids?” She asked and stared at him in tears.
“The kids stay.” Axel replied and her eyes widened.
“No, no, no. What? I can’t leave my kids.” Lily yelled. She started to cry and ran her hands through her hair.
“Axel, please. Come on, you can’t do this. You can’t do this to me!” She cried and yelled.
“You will wake them up.” Axel said as he noticed the kids starting to wake up.
Lily suddenly recalled the McCalls were back!
“Is this about the McCalls? Did my mother do something? Is someone making you do this?” Lily asked and moved closer to him.
Still, he kept a straight look.
“This isn’t about anyone. Just do as I say, leave when it’s morning.”
“No. I am not going anywhere, I am not leaving my children. You can’t just say we are having a divorce and I have to leave, it takes process.”
“Days ago, one of my guards gave you some papers to sign saying it was from me. They were divorce papers, I knew you wouldn’t read them before signing them. The divorce has been processed and it’s official.” Axel replied.
Lily stared at him in disbelief and shook her head in tears. He had it planned, he had been planning this all along.
“Axel, please. Axel, come on. Don’t do this.” She cried and moved closer to him. She moved so close to him that they were inches apart, she stared into his eyes, trying to search for answers but there were none.
His gaze was so cold that Lily felt a shiver run down her spine.
“I know you don’t want to do this, I know you love me, you love me so much that you can’t let me go no matter what, you kept searching for me… ”
“I won’t search for you this time. I promise I will never look for you. Once you leave this house, you don’t exist anymore, Lily. You will be dead to me.” He replied and took a few steps away from her and started to walk around the room slowly.
Lily felt a lump in her throat and she gasped, she looked at her kids on the bed and started to cry out loud.
She couldn’t imagine what would happen without being around them, what life would be ahead of her. How she would survive. She would never see them again! They would grow up with no memory of her, they wouldn’t have a mother.
She looked at Axel and shook her head, she knew she had no power to fight him. She couldn’t do anything but plead. All she could do was plead.
She rushed to him and fell to her knees, she held his legs and looked up at him in tears.
“Axel, please. Please don’t do this to me, I have nowhere to go. I don’t have a life without you, I can’t live without you or my kids. If you would let me go, please let me go with them.” She cried loudly as she held onto his legs tightly.
Axel looked at the kids and noticed they were awake, they slowly sat up and stared at them. They didn’t cry, they just stared.
“They are awake. You should say your goodbye to them.” Axel said and Lily looked back at her kids.
They stared at her as she cried.
“Axel, please. Please don’t let me go. Don’t do this, if I leave they won’t know me. They won’t know who their mother is.” She yelled in tears.
Axel looked at her and looked at the kids as they watched them.
“Remember what you said to me in Florida?” Axel asked without looking away from the kids.
“You said you were really glad I showed up at this time, it was such a perfect timing because the kids would never have any memory of me. You said you would make sure I never existed in their lives, they would never hear the name ‘Blackwell’. They would grow up knowing Gavin as their father and I would never be a part of their life the way I have stopped being part of yours.”
“Then you said if they ever know me, you would make sure they grow up hating me, they are going to hate me so bad they would wish I were dead. You would tell them every day about what I did to you. You said I would pay for what I did to you, they will make me pay.” Axel said and looked at Lily.
“Well, guess who will never exist to them? You will be dead to them Lily. They will never know you because you will never show up in their lives. They would have a mother but it would never be you.” Axel said and Lily shook her head in tears.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry, Axel. I didn’t mean that, please.” She cried. Axel pulled away from her and she fell to the floor crying.
“Mama?” Kendra called and Lily turned to them. She rushed to the bed and held them tightly in her arms. They didn’t understand what was going on, but they could tell their mother wasn’t happy.
Axel watched as she cried and held them, he exhaled and leaned on the wall.
He let her have her moment with them before speaking up.
“You should let them sleep.” He said and she sniffed. She slowly pulled away from them and made them lay on the bed.
“It’s okay. You can go to sleep now.” She whispered in tears and kissed their cheeks. Kender smiled at her and she smiled back at him as tears streamed down her cheeks.
Axel walked out of the room and she pulled away from the bed before slowly trailing behind him.
They got out of the room and Axel locked the door with a key.
“You won’t see them before you leave in the morning.” He said and she sniffed.
“I really hope you have a good reason for doing this.” Lily said.
“I don’t have one.” He replied and she sniffed.
Their kids started to cry and they both heard, Lily’s heart shattered as she felt so useless.
She felt so weak, she felt dumb! She was so mad that she couldn’t do anything and Axel had control over her life. He kept messing with her and kept doing what he wanted with her.
“You should get some sleep too. You are starting a new life by morning.”
