Days passed without Axel showing up, a part of Lily was relieved but she couldn’t help but feel sad. She felt sad because she thought he wasn’t as obsessed with her as he was a year ago, he didn’t fight for her. Again, he let her go.
Above all, she was happy Gavin would be safe. Him being around would mean Gavin could get hurt, and everything was back to normal again.
Living happily with her kids and Gavin.
“Lily.” Gavin called, snapping her out of her thoughts. She turned to see him dressed, he was ready to leave for work.
“Hey.” Lily called with a smile and walked closer to him.
“I’m ready to leave.”
“You are not having breakfast?” She asked and he shook his head.
“No, I am running late. Bye.” He replied and kissed her cheeks before walking out of the house.
Lily smiled as she heard giggles, she looked down and saw her kids playing. They were crawling around the living room.
She let them be and walked back to the dining, she started to clear the meal since Gavin wasn’t eating.
She was done and decided to wash the dishes when she heard the door to the living room open.
‘Gavin is back?’ She thought as she headed towards the living room.
“Gavin, did you forget… ” She trailed off and froze in fear when she saw Axel seated in the living room with Kender in his arms.
“I let myself in. I hope you don’t mind.” He said without looking up at her. He kept staring at Kender. Kendra was holding onto his leg and playing with the tip of his pants.
“Damn, he looks so much like me.” Axel said and Kender giggled like he understood what he said.
“He has my eyes and the hair too.” Axel added and smirked. He looked down at Kendra and slowly placed Kender carefully on the couch.
He picked Kendra up and smiled at her.
“She has my eyes too and she is so pretty. She looks a little bit like Nora.” Axel said and Lily rolled her eyes.
“What are you doing here?” She asked sternly.
“Oh, I am here to see my kids.” Axel replied and finally looked up at her.
“How old are they?” He suddenly asked.
“I don’t know. Can you please leave?” Lily asked.
“No.” He replied and stood up, he also carried Kender and walked towards Lily with them.
“You know, I could just take them and nothing would happen.” He shrugged.
Lily didn’t give a response, she kept staring.
“I will be going back to New York tonight and you will be coming with me.”
“I am not… ”
“Oh, I won’t be forcing you. You will be coming willingly. I will be here by 7:00 pm to pick you guys up, you should get your things ready.” He said.
Lily drew her brows together as she wondered what was going on, he sounded so sure and he seemed calm. Axel only acts that way when he is up to something.
“Did you hurt Gavin? Did you do something to him?” Lily asked worriedly.
“Of course not. I wouldn’t hurt someone who helped me take care of you all this while. Just get ready. See you in a few hours.” He said and turned away from her, he carefully dropped the kids and ruffled Kendra’s hair before standing upright and turning back to Lily.
“7:00 pm, Lily. Get ready.” He added and walked out of the house. Lily’s heart started to race and she rushed to the table and grabbed her phone.
She hurriedly dialled Gavin’s contact and he picked up immediately.
“Gavin, are you okay?” She asked.
“Yes, are you also okay? You sound worried.” He replied and she furrowed her brows. What the hell was going on?
“Are you sure? Is your business fine? Did anyone die? Did you lose anything? Money? Millions?” She rushed her questions and Gavin chuckled.
“Nothing is wrong Lily. I have to go. I have a meeting, bye.” He ended the call and Lily ran her hand through her hair.
Something was definitely wrong, Gavin sounded okay and Axel sounded so sure she would go with him.
What the hell was he up to?

Lily glanced at the time for the umpteenth time as she waited for Gavin to return. It would be 7:00 pm in thirty minutes.
Gavin was later than usual which made Lily so worried, she had called him multiple times and he wasn’t picking up his calls.
She was about to call him again when the door opened and he walked in. Lily hurriedly ran her eyes on him to see if he was hurt but he looked fine.
She rushed to him and hugged him tightly but he didn’t hug her back.
“Why are you back so late? I called you but you weren’t picking up your calls.” She said as she pulled away from the hug and stared at him.
He looked a little bit down.
“Gavin.” Lily called when he wasn’t giving her a response.
“Sorry. I wasn’t with my phone.” He muttered in response. It was obvious something was wrong with him and it made Lily so scared and worried.
“Gavin, what’s wrong?” She asked. He looked up at her and held her gaze. He could see the worry in her eyes, her blue eyes kept glistening.
“Hmm… you… you should pack your bags. Axel would be here soon to pick you and the kids up.” He said and Lily felt her heart shatter.
She knew it! Axel did something to him.
“What? What are you saying?”
“I said Axel would be here soon to pick you guys up.”
“What did he do to you? Did he threaten you? I don’t want to leave Gavin.” Lily replied in fear as tears welled up in her eyes.
“Then you can’t leave with me anymore. You have to leave my house or leave with Axel.” He replied.
Lily was about to speak when she heard cars drive in, in seconds, the door opened revealing Axel and his guards.
“I am here, are you guys ready?” He asked and Lily looked at Gavin in fear.
“Gavin, what did he do to you? Please tell me.” She said with tears streaming down her cheeks and he bowed his head then let out a sigh.
“Gavin, come on! Answer me!” She yelled.
“Please, Lily. Just leave.”
