“Lily, I can explain. It’s not what you think… ”
“What are you even doing here Axel?” She cut him off.
“I am… ”
“How did you find this place? How did you find me? What do you want?” She asked multiple questions at once and it was all too much for Axel. He felt like he was losing it.
“Just let me speak.” He raised his voice a bit and Lily flinched a little. He exhaled heavily and ran his hand through his hair.
“Sorry about that. I didn’t mean to do that.” He apologised. He sighed and took a step closer to her.
“I’m sorry Lily. About what happened a year ago, I am sorry. I am sorry I didn’t do anything about it, I am sorry I didn’t stand up for you or help you, I am sorry I let you get humiliated and I am so sorry about the divorce.” He apologized. Lily stared at him and noticed the look in his eyes, he did look sorry but no way she was letting things go.
She went through hell because of him, she almost lost her sanity, and the worst part of it, she almost died.
“You let me go.” Lily muttered and he sighed.
“I know but I searched for you, I swear I did.”
“While you married my sister.” She replied and he scoffed.
“Oh please, my last name is just a fucking title to her. I had a reason for getting married to her.”
“Yeah, because of your dumb reputation, and your family’s name too which you people care so much about.” Lily snapped at him.
“I am sorry. I mean it, Lily.” He apologized again and she nodded, she folded her arms under her chest and raised her brows at him.
“Okay, fine. Now what? What do you want?”
“To make things right. Be there for you.” He replied and Lily scoffed.
“You are a year late, Axel. You can’t do anything anymore. I am happy now, I am happy here. I don’t always have to think to do things perfectly so I wouldn’t ruin a name, I don’t have to think about a dumb ball or a family dinner. I have Gavin now and I am happy with him.” Lily explained.
“So what am I supposed to do now? Leave?”
“Yes, Axel. Leave.” She said, He looked away from her and looked at the house. He knew he could just forcefully take her but that would be wrong. For once, he needed to do things right.
“Wha… what about my kids?” Axel stuttered and looked at her.
“They are Gavin’s kids.” Lily replied sternly.
“But Gavin said they are mine.”
“But Gavin was there for nine months, he was with me while I was giving birth to them. Gavin named them and pays their bills, Gavin is their father.”
Axel scoffed and rolled his eyes, the way she kept bringing up Gavin was pissing me off.
“They are my kids, Lily.”
“You don’t even want kids. If you knew I was pregnant, I could have aborted it. You have no fucking right to say they are yours.” Lily yelled at him.
“But they are mine! I see them now, I want them!” He yelled back at her.
“Are you being serious right now? Are you really yelling at me?”
He sighed and tried his best to stay calm.
“I’m sorry. I… ”
“Axel.” Lily called his name softly and moved closer to him. She stopped when they were inches apart and held his gaze.
“I am really glad you showed up at this time, it’s such perfect timing because my kids would never have any memory of you. I will make sure you never exist in their lives, they would never hear the name ‘Blackwell’. They would grow up knowing Gavin as their father, you would never be a part of their life the way you have stopped being part of mine.”
“And if they ever know you, I will make sure they grow up hating you, they are going to hate you so bad they would wish you were dead. I would tell them every day about what you did to me. You would pay for what you did to me, they will make you pay.” Lily said and smiled a little at him.
Axel was about to speak when they suddenly heard cries. They both turned to the stairs to see Gavin walking down with the kids in his arms and Kender was crying.
“I am so sorry to interrupt but he wouldn’t stop crying.” Gavin said and walked towards them. Lily took him from Gavin and his cries reduced a bit.
“It’s okay. Axel was just leaving.” Lily replied and turned to him with her son. Axel stared at him as he cried, he also stared back at Axel and slowly stopped crying.
Axel sighed and looked away from him then turned to Lily.
“I am not letting you go. I never will. Have a nice day.” He said before walking out of the house.
Lily bit her lip and Gavin wrapped his arms around her.
“It’s okay. Everything will be okay.”

NEW YORK CITY
Malia sat gracefully in the living room as she went through different pictures of dresses. She was picking her dress for the ball. It would soon be the beginning of a new season again.
As she did, the door to the living room suddenly opened and her mother walked in.
“Hey, mum.” She called with a smile but her mother glared at her.
“What do you think you are doing?” Her mother asked and she shrugged with a smile.
“What does it look like I am doing? I am sitting in my husband’s mansion and picking out dresses.” She giggled and her mother glared at her hard.
“Aren’t you supposed to be taking care of a baby or babies right now?” She asked and Malia rolled her eyes.
“I told you, mum. I am working on it.” She groaned.
“Really? And where is your husband?”
“I don’t know. I haven’t seen him in days.” She shrugged in response and Tania fought every urge to slap her across the face.
“What mum? It’s not my fault he hasn’t touched me since we got married.”
“So whose fault is it? You’ve got a month to do something about this or else it won’t end well for both of us. Blackwell needs a grandchild, and you must be the first to produce one!”
