“Since you have no plans after the year runs out, I made you one.” Axel said.
“What are the plans you made?” Lily asked. She was so curious to know what he was about to say.
“It’s more like a deal.”
“Okay?”
“I will extend the time of the contract, it won’t end in a year, it will end whenever you want it to. During this time, you will continue being my wife and I will pay you for it.”
“Oh.” Lily muttered and bit her lip.
“When is the contract extended to?” Lily asked again to be sure.
“Like I said, whenever you want it to.” He replied and Lily tried to think about it but it seemed everything in her head went blank.
She felt the need not to think about it, as long as she was still with Axel, she was okay with any deal he made.
“Okay.” She said and smiled.
“Have you thought about it?” He asked and she nodded in response.
“Are you sure? Being with me involves you going through what you went through in Paris. Are you ready for that?” He asked and Lily looked away from him and thought about it.
Somehow, she was fine with it. She didn’t think about it for so long before turning to look at him again.
“Yeah, I am okay with it.” She replied and Axel raised his brows. He couldn’t deny the fact that he was a little bit surprised.
He was a little bit sure she would accept his offer but not so fast, he doubted that she thought about it.
“And you are okay with me committing murder?” Axel asked and she furrowed her brows.
“Is it weird that I can forgive you for murder but not cheating?” She asked back and Axel raised his brows as he wondered what had gotten into his Lily.
“Are you mad at me about Malia?” He asked.
“Hmm.” Lily replied and nodded.
“But I already handled it.”
“I know, it’s fine.” She muttered and smiled at him.
Axel pulled her closer to himself and she placed her head on his shoulder.
“Do you want to go on a vacation?”
“I… ”
“It’s not for a business. Just the two of us and I promise nothing will go wrong.” He cut her off.
“Okay, when?”
“Tomorrow. To prove to you that I am not going because of my business, you will pick the country of your choice.” He said and Lily giggled.
“Can I decide overnight?”
“Of course, you can take your time. Your husband is a billionaire, you can be in any country at any time.” Axel said proudly and Lily looked up at him.
“You are being proud.” She said with a frown.
“Of course, I am a billionaire, I have to be proud of it.”
“But the only reason you are a billionaire is because you are a gangster.” She said and Axel shrugged.
“You kill people for a living, Axel.”
“And you are fine with it.” Axel replied and she chuckled. His phone suddenly beeped and he checked it, he read the text that came in and Lily stared at him as he did.
“What’s wrong?” Lily asked, noticing a change in his expression.
“It’s nothing. It’s work.” He replied and slowly pulled away from her.
“I have to go now.” He said and stood up.
“Okay.” Lily replied.
“I will be back late. If anything comes up, you can call me.” He said and she nodded again. Axel leaned closer to her and kissed her forehead, she smiled at him as he walked out of her room.
As Axel walked out, Lily hurriedly picked up her phone and called Nora. She called her number and Nora picked up on the first ring.
“Lily.” Nora called.
“Hey.”
“How are you feeling? Better?” She asked and Lily smiled. Nora cares a lot about her.
“Yes. I want to ask you something.”
“Oh, okay. What’s up?”
“Axel asked us to go on another vacation again but this time, I got to pick which country we would go to. I have until tomorrow to make a decision.”
“Wow. That’s great. So you need my help in picking a country?” Nora asked.
“Yes. I really don’t know anything about any country.”
“Atlanta.” Nora said randomly.
“Atlanta? Where is that?” Lily asked innocently and Nora chuckled.
“Its a city in the US. Georgia.” Nora replied.
“Is it a fun place to visit?”
“Of course. You will have fun, just mention the name to Axel, he will know places you guys can visit.” Nora explained and Lily smiled happily.
“Okay, thank you, Nora.” Lily said and ended the call.
“Atlanta.” She muttered with a smile and fell on her bed.
The day ended fast as usual, Lily was the only one at home except for the maids and guards. She had lunch, used her drugs, and also had dinner.
Since she wasn’t feeling sleepy, she decided to sit in the living room and watch the television for a while.
She got carried away and didn’t realise it was midnight already, she was enjoying the show she was watching. A kid’s show.
She suddenly heard Axel’s car drive in and she smiled happily. She waited impatiently for him to walk into the living room.
Seconds later, Axel walked into the living room. Lily stood up happily and rushed to him, she hugged him and Axel let out a groan.
Lily didn’t notice this, he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her back.
She pulled away seconds later and looked at him with a smile.
“Why are you still up?” Axel asked weakly and she pointed at the television. Axel glanced at her and nodded.
She finally noticed something was wrong with him and she drew her brows together.
“Axel, are you okay?” She asked. His hair fell over his face a little, his forehead was a little bit sweaty and he looked pale and exhausted.
“Axel.” Lily called.
“I’m fine.” He replied and groaned. Lily noticed his hand was at the side of his stomach, she moved his jacket and her eyes widened when she saw his shirt covered in blood.
“Axel.” Lily called in fear and looked up at him.
“It’s okay. I’m fine.” He replied weakly.
“It’s just a little bullet wound, I can take care of it.” He said and walked past her, he headed into the kitchen.
Lily rushed after him in fear. She was terrified, he wasn’t looking okay at all.
They got to the kitchen and Axel leaned on the counter weakly.
“Shouldn’t we go to a hospital? It is a bullet wound.” Lily said in fear but Axel didn’t give her a response.
He forced himself off the counter and opened a cabinet, he brought out a first aid bag and placed it on the counter. Weakly, he looked up at Lily and let out a deep breath.
“You are going to pull out the bullet.” He muttered and groaned as he pulled off his jacket.
“What? I can’t do that.” Lily replied.
“You will learn. Open the first aid bag, Lily.”
