Lily walked to him and he held her waist as she got to him, she felt bad she interrupted his meeting and made him act rude to the men in the room and the president.
“I’m so sorry I interrupted your meeting. I was bored and taking a walk when I found this room. I am sorry.” She apologised and Axel shrugged.
“It’s fine, I was getting tired of the meeting anyway.” Axel replied and raised his hand to her hair, he ran his hand through it and she smiled at him.
“Why are you smiling?” He asked and she shrugged.
“You are being a caring husband.”
“Anything for my wife.” He said and Lily giggled.
“You aren’t mad at me any more right?” He asked.
“Hmm.” Lily replied with a nod.
“And you won’t be taking any breaks from me?” He asked and Lily shrugged.
“If I don’t see a reason to.”
“You won’t.” He said.
“So you will keep being a caring husband?” Lily asked with a smile.
“Of course.”
“Can I ask a question?” She asked and Axel nodded.
“Yeah, go ahead.”
“I noticed you enjoy staring at me, what part of me do you like that makes you stare so much at me?” Lily asked and Axel creased her waist.
“Your eyes.” He replied.
“Why my eyes?” She asked softly.
“In your eyes, I found a place where I can get lost forever. You’re more than a dream, you’re my favourite reality.” He replied and Lily stared at him.
She couldn’t believe his words, she couldn’t believe Axel just said that to her.
How can a ruthless man say such sweet words to her? How could he even think of something like that?
“You look so lost, why?” Axel asked and Lily blinked rapidly.
“You just said I am more than a dream, I am your favourite reality.” She said and he nodded.
“Yeah, so?”
“How did you think of something like that?” She asked and he chuckled.
“I don’t know, it just happened.”
“Wow.” Lily giggled.
“What?”
“I never imagined those words coming from someone like you.”
“I know.” Axel replied and Lily pulled him into a hug. Now, she wishes the marriage was a real one, not a contracted one.
Curious about their marriage, she decided to ask him a few questions about it. She pulled away from the hug and stared at him.
“Axel, will our marriage end exactly when the year runs out or… ”
“Why are you asking that?” He cut her off.
“Nothing, I just want to know… ”
“I’m hungry. Do you want to have lunch now?” He cut her off again and changed the topic.
“Isn’t it too early for lunch?” She asked.
“Well, I didn’t have breakfast so I am very hungry. Let’s go get something to eat.” He said and let go of her waist and held her hand.
“Okay then.” Lily replied.
She found his reaction to her question very weird.
Why doesn’t he want to talk about their marriage?
She just wanted to understand the duration of the contract so well.
They both walked out of the room and headed back to Axel’s office. Since Axel didn’t show any interest in the conversation, she decided not to bring it up anymore.
“So, what do you want to have for lunch?” Lily asked.
“On second thought, let’s eat out.” He said and pulled Lily out of his office before she could say anything.
He pulled her towards the elevator and Lily wondered why he was in such a hurry out of the blue.
“Axel, is something wrong?” She asked.
