Max snapped out of his thoughts and hurriedly pulled away from Lily.
“A… are you okay?” He asked and held her shoulder, Lily breathed heavily and nodded in response.
She looked up at Max and he noticed she was crying already.
“Hey, it’s okay.” He said softly and tried to move closer to her but he heard footsteps approaching them, he stopped immediately and took a step back from her.
Axel got to them and before he could say anything, Max walked away. Axel stood in front of Lily as she cried and tried to catch her breath.
“Are you okay?” He asked and she shook her head in response, she tried to wipe her tears but they kept falling, at that point, the death of the Russians wasn’t the only reason she was crying, she kept thinking about everything relating to death, including her father.
“I want to go home.” She muttered and sniffed.
“I am not done yet.” Axel replied.
“Then tell Max to take me home.” She said and glanced at Max who looked like he was lost in thought as he stood next to Axel’s men.
“Max is busy too.” Axel replied. He was calm the whole time, all he did was stare at her.
“Then call someone, call the chauffeur, please, I really want to go home.” She pleaded. Axel brought out his phone from his pants pocket and she watched, she sighed in relief knowing he was about to call someone.
He suddenly paused, turned off his phone, and tucked it back in his pants pocket, Lily furrowed her brows and wondered why he did that.
“Why did you stop?” She asked.
“You will wait till I am done.” He said and Lily’s lips parted in shock.
“No matter how long it takes.” He added and walked away from her, she whined loudly like a kid and stomped her feet repeatedly on the floor.
In annoyance, she opened the car door, got in, and folded her arms as she sat in the passenger seat.
She was upset and sad, she didn’t want to be in an environment like this, it was sickening and disturbing.
Who the fuck kills someone like an animal? Even animals aren’t treated this way.
Sitting alone in the car gave Lily more time to think about what kind of job Axel would be doing to make killing so natural for him.
She wasn’t dumb in that aspect, she figured it out early. So far, that was the only advantage of living in a rural area, it was filled with little gangsters messing the whole neighbourhood up and claiming little titles.
She had noticed how Axel did, going to work early, coming back late at night, multiple calls, the meeting at that abandoned building, his involvement with the Russians, and his men always being on guard with guns. No explanation needed, she knows he is a gangster but with a really high rank.
She doesn’t want to be with someone like this, she can’t be involved with someone who kills people without having a second thought.
“Ma’am.” She heard someone call and she turned to the car window to see one of Axel’s men. Lily stared at him with disgust in her eyes and she raised her brow too, giving him a questioning look.
“Hmm, boss… I’m sorry. Mr. Blackwell asked me to be at your service for the day ma’am so I am here to ask what you would like to have for lunch?”
“I am not hungry.” She replied.
“But Mr. Blackwell said you didn’t have break… ”
“I said I am not hungry.” She snapped at him and he flinched a little, her voice was so loud that it got the attention of Axel and everyone else, they all turned to the car and looked away after a few seconds.
“I’m sorry ma’am.” The man apologized and bowed before walking away.
“Dude, just take her home.” Max said to Axel as he addressed his men. Axel ignored what he said and continued with his speech.
“She doesn’t want to be here and it is also dangerous for her. If you don’t want to take her then call the chauffeur to come pick her up.” Max added and Axel turned to him.
“She will wait till I decide to leave. No matter how long it takes.” He replied and Max rolled his eyes.
THE McCALL’S MANSION
Tania stared at her daughter who was sitting opposite her with a smile on her face as she went through her phone.
A lot was on Tania’s mind and it was all about getting her daughter married. Not just to anyone but to Axel Blackwell.
She already made a deal with Susan, a deal that had to work out, if it didn’t, there would be consequences, really bad ones.
She heard her daughter giggle and out of annoyance, she kissed her teeth and made an irritating sound.
Malia noticed this and she turned to her mother.
“Mum, what’s wrong? What is it?” She asked.
“Go through your phone all day, sit back, relax, and watch how that commoner takes what is rightfully yours.” Her mother replied with a glare and Malia groaned.
“Ugh, what am I supposed to do? He clearly doesn’t want me, I tried seducing him and it didn’t work.”
“Well you try harder. You have to get married to Mr. Blackwell no matter what.” She replied sternly and Malia rolled her eyes.
“I don’t know why it has to be him, Logan was ready to marry me and… ”
“Logan is no one. Logan is just a millionaire just like us. Because we are not as wealthy as other families, we don’t really get invited to parties, sometimes, I always need the help of Susan to get into some places. So many other things that we lack and it will all change if you get married to Mr. Blackwell.” Tania explained and Malia let out a sigh.
She knew she had to do what her mother wanted, all her life, she has always done what her mother wanted.
“Okay, fine. So what now?”
“First, we found out how Lily met with Mr. Blackwell out of the blue to the point of getting married to him.” She replied and Malia nodded.
“Okay, then what?”
“Obviously it can’t be a good meeting so we will use it against both of them and get her out of the marriage.”
“What if that doesn’t work?”
“Then, we will have to get her out of the way by any means necessary.” She replied and Malia was about to give a response but Tania cut her off.
“Even if it involves killing her.”
