POV: Miguel
“We are not playing games, Mr. Hawkins; we are hiding from the thugs that evaded your home while you were away. They had guns, Mr Hawkins, they threatened to shoot us if we made any move to contact the cops or you. They were so mean and heartless, they hurt anyone that refused to follow their orders.” One of the maids let out in fear, her voice breaking at the end.
“They robbed us and left with ma’am Eloise and her two girls.” Another girl added sadly, her eyes filled with tears. I don’t even know if she is crying for herself or for Marisol and her daughter, who is missing.
“What thugs? Where are the guards? Who let them in? Who brought them here?!” Raphael asked in anger, kicking the lamp on the table in front of him. He looked so furious, I wanted to punch him in the fucking face.
“What games are you playing, Raphael? Are you in this together? Are you working with Eloise to keep my sister away from me?
What is the big idea? What do you hope to gain from this? Where is my sister?!” I asked him angrily, pouncing on him like an angry bull. He responded quickly and he pushed me off, trying to get me to stop. We both fell to the floor, and we each took turns flipping each other on the floor, trying to overpower each other. Our struggles alerted the cops, and they rushed into the house with their riffles raised, pointing forward.
“Who is it, who is there?” the cops asked in a hurry, thinking we were in danger. It took a few minutes for them to see that there was no intruder here but just two idiots trying to establish dominance and power.
“Why don’t you break it up already, you two. We have a major case and you two need to find a way to get along and work together!” the inspector yelled furiously as they pulled us apart roughly.
“Mr Hawkins, I’ll suggest you let Me Myers take the lead in finding his sister because his claim on her is greater than yours.” The inspector told me sternly, eyeing me suspiciously.
“That is bullshit, inspector!
This is my house and I have the right to take charge of everything that goes on in here. They were taken from my house, so automatically, this becomes my case. She is my fiancee and I fucking put them in my house for safety reasons. So if anything happens to them in my house it automatically becomes my problems, do you understand me?” he asked him angrily. He obviously feels offended by his words.
“If you feel so responsible for their safety, why the hell did you leave them with that witch, do you know what they are capable of, did you bother to find out how she got my sister as a daughter or you only cared about my relationship with her. While conducting your DNA, why didn’t you find out why she never bothered to find the girls real parents, did you not know that she was hiding the girls and keeping the truth about their background a secret?
Oh wait…
Of course, you knew!
That’s must be why you tried so hard to keep her away from me. Are you helping her his the girls from their family, why didn’t you even say anything about it to Victoria?
If you cared so much about her, why did you lie to her?” I asked him furiously, accusing him of being her accomplice even if I know in my heart that Vera Kendall did not mention him as an accomplice. He had tried to keep us apart and he secretly carried out a DNA test on us without our permission.
That is enough reason to suspect him and keep him away from this investigation. He needs to explain himself and convince me that he is not one of the people trying to separate my sister and I. Right now he is doing a terrible job at convincing me that he is on my side. He is currently trying to convince the cops that he cannot work with me.
“I want him out if my house, man. I cannot be in the same space with this guy. He fucking annoys me, he’s a fucking idiot!
Get him out of here!” he yelled at the cops furiously.
“Oh, please, just shut it already. I’m her brother, so deal with it and get fucking used to having me in your face and in your business!” I told him firmly, glaring back at him. If he is going to be with my sister, then we need to find a way to get along with each other. We have to put aside our differences and just do it for her.
“Just give him a break, Mr Hawkins. He just found her and still lost her again to the same person. That You got to be so annoying and frustrating. Besides, You weren’t there when he brought in Vera Kendall to the station. You didn’t get to hear her confession and all the evil things Eloise Kendall is capable of. If were in his shoes, I’d be pissed as fuck too.” The inspector told him sternly, warning him to be cool.
“I don’t care if he is her father, I want him out of my house right now!” he responded angrily, choosing to ignore me and focus on the inspector. I scoffed as I looked at him, I feel so angry with him.
While we glare at each other, I noticed that he had his eyes up. His eyes keep going up to one particular place and he seems so eager to get rid of us too. I followed his gaze one time to see where he was looking at, and I spotted a hidden camera that a lot of people won’t see if they weren’t looking at the right place. This is a bedroom and he has a hidden camera here. I wonder if it’s the same with every room, I wonder if his hidden cameras had picked up something that we could use.
“The cameras, I want to review them, please,” I told him, sounding so eager and apologetic. He took one look at me and realized that I wasn’t going anywhere no matter what he said. So he led us to the control rooms to review the cameras. It was there that we confirmed that indeed, Eloise had kidnapped the girls again.
My mind raced with questions and fears as we searched every room, every corner of the house, looking for anything that might suggest where they were heading to. Had she planned this all along?
What does she want with Claire and Victoria?” I thought in my head as my head pounded with even more questions. In that moment of despair, Raphael and I put our differences aside and we vowed to find them. We would uncover Eloise’s lies and bring the girls back home, no matter what it took.
